Uh, I don’t know. I mean, I think I think uh give them a lot of credit obviously. Um, they came in, you know, pushing it pretty hard and playing pretty aggressive and and um I don’t know, we just we just back on our heels a little bit. Didn’t didn’t really like the where our pickup points were on defense. Um, and we couldn’t the only we shook out of it with about five minutes to go in the second. We finally got up and started meeting the ball, getting into the ball a little bit. The one thing we couldn’t shake out of was the long rebounds tonight. We just we just they just kept chasing chasing and chasing all the long rebounds tonight. So, um I would say that the the lack of um um pickup point it defensively would led to the slow start. Yeah. You obviously ended up getting a clean look at it at the end, but what was the design on that final play? Yeah. Um, it’s it’s got a few things going on there. You got Joel going off a flare screen. You got Tyrese coming off uh kind of a pin down off off a and VJ heading to the basket. Tyrese and VJ got hung up a little bit and um I mean obviously there was a couple guys open Q kind of you know didn’t handle it cleanly. I think um it wasn’t great. You know, obviously when you don’t make those, you wish you would have done something different, but uh it’s it’s a good play and we had all our right guys in there. Obviously, um didn’t didn’t quite that they did a good job of holding us through it. We couldn’t couldn’t quite shake them to get free, you know. That was the first time kind of played down the stretch of a game. Just what you think of him in like that particular pocket. Yeah. So, you know, it was kind of the first time we were in that situation where he had a chunk of minutes left and um we’re trying to decide, you know, which way to go with it. And um almost felt like we were able to kind of do a little bit of both of what we’ve been doing, which is start bone in the fourth and and create some defensive energy and and few different schemes and stuff. And obviously worked pretty good. Um but yeah, I thought he was I thought he was good. He he um I thought he was good at both ends down the stretch. Obviously, Nick, the lineup and towards the end of the third quarter with Edgecomb, Grimes, Trendan, uh Edwards, and Drummond, that was kind of like where the tide kind of escalated into a double digit deficit again. I guess what decided what was that was the deciding factor for Yeah, I mean, just got to trying to find, you know, some minutes for these guys. you got three guys pushing 40, you know, minutes and and uh that’s that’s you know what what we’re doing. I think that um getting Tyrese out there was again that one went against a little bit what we thought we were going to do. Again, like I say this to you yesterday, we got a lot going on, right? And usually I’m taking Joel taking Tyrese out to end the third because Joel is coming back in the fourth and I want to pair them together, right? Um but then we end up flipping that. So that kind of ended up not being a great thing to do. If we could go back and restart there, I would and and knew what I was going to do with Joel, probably would have had Tyrese in down the stretch there. Yeah, Nick, you had some issues rebounding the ball in the second half of this game. Do you think that was just a second? I think it was more. It felt It felt like for 48 minutes, but thanks thanks for that. Did you think that that was a product of you guys play small a lot? a lot of guards on the floor or was that just issues with communication? Uh, I want to look at it, but if I if I had to guess right now, I don’t think the size had that much to do with it. I mean, I think they’re playing small, too, right? It’s not like it’s not like, you know, maybe they’re a little bit bigger around the board. Um, but I but I’ll bet once I go back and look at it, I bet when they’re taking these threes, we are running too far into the paint rather than keeping some type of uh a wall on the a little bit more on the perimeter free throw line area, etc. I bet we’re running by a lot of those that are bouncing. I mean, most of them were bouncing free throw line and further and and I’m guessing our guys were in the paint. This is kind of what I saw live, but I I think it’ll probably show in the film, too. Now, what did you make of BJ’s game tonight? You ended up with I think it was 175 and five, but felt looking at the game maybe he got lost in the offense a little bit at times tonight. Yeah, I think I think um you know, he wasn’t alone in the lackluster energy at the start, right? That’s that to me is you know, like something you got to learn. like, you know, you got to learn that these games come really fast in this league and and you gota you be able to get yourself ready to go physically, mentally, etc. I think that’s the same was in Washington a little bit, but I think, you know, we talked about he’s a he’s a young guy that he’s he’s going to have to learn lots to learn and all that kind of stuff. Um, and yeah, I think that um, again, if I have to probably without looking at the film say that we didn’t get into enough of the uh, spread type offense and and get him enough chances to, you know, when he when he did score, it was usually off a little bit of a kick back and boom, there he was downhill. Um, we just didn’t do that enough probably. Yeah. How would you evaluate Tyrese’s night? Yeah, I mean, he he was good. I thought I thought um uh a lot of minutes again, so he’s carrying a heavy load. Um don’t think it was super easy for him. Lot lots of physicality, lots of holding. I don’t think he got discouraged by it. Um you know, I just I think that again I’m I’m guy’s broken record time. I’m trying to get him to find some more stuff in transition before it gets too grindy for him, you know, before it gets too too grindy for him. and and um just just because you know 48 minutes of that’s got to get old, right? So or 43 minutes of it, whatever it is, that’s still still a lot. Um but no, I thought I thought he made some really good reads late. I thought he really picked up his defense late after it wasn’t again it wasn’t it was all of those guys. They were just not not at a pickup point that we were happy with until about four minutes to go in the second quarter, five minutes to go in the second quarter, right? So we we just we got to learn that for sure that we got to get out and get out and start and put a little bit more. I mean look at the two halves def 68 versus 41. You know it wasn’t like and like you say oh we just can’t guard them. We got to we got to we got to make sure we guard them. Yeah. Last couple questions. It’s crazy early but what do you see potentially with BJ and Max together and what they might be able Yeah. I think there’s I think there’s a great combination there. Uh David, I think that that they they’re they’re similar in that they both got pretty pretty explosive first steps to get by. Um obviously Tyrese is a, you know, great three-point deep three-point shooter. He’s got a he’s got a few years on him, but I think it’s a good combination where they can both play on and off the ball. I think they’re they should be able to play uh they have played extremely well together and I think that that relationship will continue to grow and they’ll learn a lot of of how they can play off each other. Um yeah, it’s been been good. It’s been exciting. VJ’s been obviously a a nice surprise and I’ve been saying it for I’ve not been here three years but I’ve been saying for about five years how special Maxi is even when I was coaching against him. Yep. Thanks coach. Okay. Thanks everybody.

Use Vj more!!!! Get him going in the 1st not the 4th.
Should not play Joel you stubborn old az
Embiid in no shape or form should be taking the final shot anymore
Itβs Maxeyβ we live and die with it
You drop the ball buddy if you have someone like vj use him those people came to see vj the world is only watching 76rs because of him release the kraken.
This man self sabotage his own team by putting in a lineup with Edwards Watford & Drummond then drew up 2 horrendous plays at the end of game at 11 seconds for Maxey and the last play which should've involved VG Maxey and Embiid instead of Grimes Nick Nurse blew that game with bad coaching decisions.
