Neil, why do you continue to jinx Detroit sports teams? Um, I am not I am not the one that, you know, was responsible for this. I think they played a bigger part in it than I did. I was I was guaranteed a series win. Anyway, though, the game Danny G Neil can’t keep getting away with this. He killed our beloved Tigers. And it’s fine. Hey, hey, you know what? I You did this. You did this to me. You told me Jack Flity was going to save us. Yeah. You know what though? I was told they were the first to 40 wins, 50 wins, 60 wins, they were they were and then right around that 70 mark and the bottom really dropped. Right around that 70 mark, we there was a turn. No, but KG, I’m glad you said that because I did get that from a lot of people. But here’s the deal, guys. I I didn’t even get an opportunity to get to the pitching last night. I didn’t. Yeah. First and third, one out, one run. And you were lucky to get it. They scored one run again. Again. Spenny, I dropped you something in Slack, by the way. And I I’m putting you on the spot, man. And this is where I just hate that they don’t manufacture runs. They don’t play the small ball when they need to because they’re not good enough to compete talent level for talent level. They were playing above their skis for 365 days essentially, but then it all fell out and now we’re here where we are. Um, if they don’t even make the playoffs, you got to burn everything to the ground. Like, has there ever been there’s never been this big of a collapse and the people accountable for it have to go. Like if you did this in any business, if you took over a McDonald’s that was doing great and all of a sudden they’re the worst performing McDonald’s, they’re going to fire you as the GM. If you take over a bank who was making money and all of a sudden you’re hemorrhaging money, you’re going to lose your job. Like I do not see a world where everybody survives this if they don’t make the playoffs. And that’s got to be the motivation in the locker room. That’s got to be the motivation because that that all starts from the top. And yeah, you know, I singled him out months ago, but I’m done with Spencer Torqulson. That [ __ ] yesterday once again, just lack of effort standing there unaware after he missed the ball. Like, that’s that’s coaching. That’s not motivating your player, but that’s also a player not being able to motivate himself. And I’m I’m done with that [ __ ] That’s why this team sucks right now. There’s no energy. His job to make sure his team is mentally ready as well as physically. True. But a rahrah guy is not fixing this situation. I’m sick of that narrative, too. It’s got nothing to do with Jav. Okay, it it’s got nothing to do with Jav. I went through that and once I accepted the fact that it was over and that was, you know, about the sixth or seventh inning and I thought, you know what, cuz I started wrestling with that question. Do you even want them to make the playoffs? And stick, my action suggested I did because even when the game was over, even when it was over, there I was like an idiot locked into Astros A’s saying, “Come on, A’s win.” Yeah. But then I’m at the exact same time, I’m talking to myself. I’m stick I’m tired. I’m I’m fatigued. Thank you. I’m I’m I I fought the good fight. I drew my sword against an oncoming army and I died with honor in the battlefield. I did. I did everything I could do. And like the texter said, I got the tiger hat on today and even if they’re mathematically eliminated, I’ll be back. And and that’s that’s just the way that it is. And stick, I’m tired. And in some form or fashion, me, most people in the chat, everybody, every day I put something into this team from April till October. Every day in some form or fashion. If I’m if I’m fishing with my son, I got it on the radio on my phone. If I’m driving somewhere in the car, I’m listening in the car. If I’m at home, I got it on TV. If I’m busy working, I got it at home on TV. I’m paying attention. I do television for Paramount, for CBS Sports Network. We go to commercial. I open up the phone. What’s the score in the game? What’s it looking like? How’s it working? Like, every day I put something into this team and I’m tired, stick, I’m I’m I’m I don’t want this. I don’t want this anymore. I don’t I don’t have any more left, Stick. I got nothing. Nothing. And if if it ended, it wouldn’t break my heart. It’s a fitting end. Yeah, that is a fitting end. And I don’t care what anybody says. Like you could the the whole you’re talking about rahrrah stuff. The whole rahrah stuff of maybe this will affect change. It ain’t affecting change, man. Nothing’s going to change. You think they’re going to fire Scott Harris? No. We got an upper teen payroll. That’s just the way everybody likes it there and it that’s not going to change. And while I understand the only way you can win is if you’re in I got nothing left to give. I don’t have this in me. And guess what? If they do go, I have to go on another death march. I fought the good fight. I died with honor. I don’t have anything left for this team. Nothing left to give. And Neil, what we just witnessed is almost all of the five stages of grieving. Yeah. You know, at first early in the season, it was denial. It was this that’s going to happen. No matter what, they’ll they’ll pull. There’s no way it couldn’t happen. There’s no way they could ever fall apart. What I just saw was a lot of anger. So, a lot of anger. And that’s because they did not live up to their expectations. Uh bargaining. Now, you’re like, okay, if they do lose, maybe something can happen. If they win, potentially. So, you’re trying to make good out of what is absolutely awful. um really haven’t seen depression out of you yet. I think that’ll come when it’s finally over. I don’t I don’t get the depression. I just get the acceptance. Okay. So, you skip that and you But they say this isn’t linear. So, you’re going to jump around like tonight. You’re going to get hopeful again. If Jose Ramirez, it’s a three-run bomb in the first inning. You’re going to get depressed. Yep. But see, no, I’m not gonna be So, well, here’s the difference. Today, the Astros play before we do. They play in the afternoon. So, I’m already going to be in some kind of mindset where I I seriously that’s just going to ratchet up the intensity. If they lose, you’re going to want them to win so much more. I’m operating on the premise we will not win again. I’m operating on that premise. We will not win again. Yeah. They got to prove it. Now, if the Astros only win once, then we’re still in that that and and I’m going to watch I’m going to watch their games, too. And I don’t know why because I just told you I have nothing left to give. But I don’t know what else to do. It’s what I’m going to do. You’re a fan. I got nowhere else to go. They could create turnovers. They could like things could happen. I’m not saying it’s going to. And you know, my prediction in this game is obviously with you and the Lions, but I hate to discredit a team with that great of defense. If if we were talking about the Tennessee Titans rolling in here again, the Jacksonville Jaguars or the Bears again, then yeah, it’s it’s a rollover. But when you have a defense like that, it can keep you in games from time to time. And let’s just say my boy Jared Goff has an off game for him. And he’s not perfect. What? I know. See, you’ll be just as shocked as me, KG. I would be floored. But I think Jared Goff’s going to light them up. Yeah, for real. I think I think this is going to be a golf game. It’s going to be a bunch of short quick passes, a bunch of, you know, screens, like Texas routes. Yeah, I think it’s going to be a golf game. I think he’s over 300. He’s got like three Tuds. You look at Greg Newsome, he he makes plays, but he could also get exposed. Uh but their safeties are not good. Yeah, their defensive line you don’t go at all. Their linebacking core is very good. So, it’s going to be toughing in their run game and but they’ll be able to dice them up down the field. And how did it work for the Ravens when they had a safety that was compromised? Not great. Not great at all. Not great. You know what I’m saying? Like who have the Browns played? The Ravens, the Packers, and I don’t know. I’m going to check that out. Anyway, um as you as you check that out again, for me, it’s just one of those things where and it’ll I’ll say this. I think in the first half of the game, there’ll be some angst in Ford Field because you know how we are now, right? Like if they don’t come out and put 52 up and they don’t have they’re not in the 20s by the second quarter, we’re like, “Oh, maybe they do suck.” Jared Goff sucks. There I think I think there will be a um figure it out process. I think like in the second quarter it could be 107. God, you know what I’m saying? Like I can see that it could be either way. It could be 10-7. like it could be that way for a minute, but I think that over the course of a game, yeah, there there are there are too many things for Cleveland to account for with the with the Lions in Forward Field. Now, if they were outside in Cleveland, different totally different not even we were saying this on heavyweights, me and Easy were like, is it weird to be like, I’m really glad this game isn’t in Cleveland? I I mean we just went outside in Baltimore kind. I think we’re okay. But you you literally just described what happened in the Ravens game this year. They gave up 41 to the Ravens, but at halftime it was 10-3. Mhm. So yeah, you know, there there’s going to be a period like eventually because when you’re a defense and you’re you can be a great defense, but if your offense doesn’t just give you some moments of rest, like if you’re constantly battling for field position and knowing that your offense is only going to get you in the teens and you It’s like it’s kind of like a Tigers pitcher right now. Yeah. Yeah. It doesn’t matter how good or great you are because you’re not gonna get the support. You’re just not. So eventually that will crack as great as they are. And and don’t get me wrong, a ton of respect for Miles Garrett. He’s one of the best in the game. Their defense statistically is the best in the game, right? As of right now, it’s only three weeks in. How are they the best in the game when they let a 41 to Baltimore though because they’re statistically the best in the game? Yes. Who was there? Then I got in the locker room and I saw like I looked in the mirror. I’m like this is it not going to be that bad. Like it’s just a scratch and it kind of just opened up. But yeah, halftime we just it was a third quarter I think. So I just glued they just glued it during the game. Yeah. Coach Campbell love the thought of you spewing blood all over yelling calls. Like the defensive line, linebacker, strong safety, those guys crashing downhill every play and smashing into other grown men every single play. Like it takes a different beast. It’s They say like every collision in the NFL has the same force of like a car accident. Well, and like Spenny, you’re a big guy. Running into Spenny at full speed would hurt, but compared to an NFL player, you’re a tiny fella. Like when Joy was in here, Joy is about as broad as you’re going to get.
