Everyone on this sub already knew it wasn’t a hip drop tackle but it’s nice to have confirmation since so many Giants fans were adamant it was a hip drop tackle and Baun would be fined or even suspended (totally delusional).

Wishing Skattebo a quick recovery!

  1. Giants fans whining over last week’s game is mindblowing, you would think they’re not 2-6 and dogshit the way they keep crying days later. At least they’ll have that TNF win as a crumb of an excitement

  2. I’m seeing so many weird “Philly mega awesome birds fan unite” type pages on FB that are all AI slop images and the hottest takes and fakest fucking bullshit headlines with uncited quotes. Not sure if it’s all AI or just some clowns looking for engagement, but I saw one with Baun getting a fine and fake quotes from Goodell, him, and Skattybo. Craziness.

  3. The current Giant fan take on this seems to be “not surprising since the Eagles are the NFL darlings” 🤦‍♂️

  4. Wow! It’s almost like it was a routine tackle that ended badly! Surely that’s hasn’t happened hundreds of times over the years!

  5. Only a niche group of Giants fans are even calling it dirty, the Giants organization and a majority of Giants fans are rational and understand that it was just a freak accident.

  6. Why would he be fined? It was not a hip drop tackle, it was an unfortunate accident. Hope the kid can comeback next year, if anything he’s fun to watch.

  7. Giants fans are moving on from the Anger & Bargaining Stages of Grief to Depression & Acceptance.

  8. Boy if you saw the discourse on the giants subreddit lmao. They believe we are the chiefs now because Baun didn’t get fined for what they perceive a “clear hip drop”

  9. Some Giants fans are saying it’s a “textbook hip drop tackle.” If that’s textbook to them, then I can see why they’re becoming one of the dumber fanbases when it comes to sports.

  10. It’s close. I don’t think it was dirty or anything though. Baun certainly appears to have rode his hips to the ground but it feels more like he fell down the body after the tackle was already initiated more than he grabbed him and took him down at the hip.

I don’t think it was worthy of a fine but it’s also not so far off from a play that would be that I would be doing some sort of victory dance and calling people delusional. It’s objectively pretty close.

Also considering just how bad the refs were in that game in the eagles favor, I think giants fans absolutely have a reason to feel quite frustrated. I’m not saying they set out to help the eagles or anything, that’s just how the bad refing cookie crumbled in that game. And if don’t think that’s true, you are the delusional one.

  11. I think it’s crazy that Skattebo hasn’t had any fines this year for use of helmet.

  12. It would be the most bogus fine I’ve ever seen, if he had gotten one for…. checks notes… jumping for a poorly thrown ball where the other player just happened to land awkwardly.

It could’ve just as easily happened to him.

  13. Meanwhile an actual scumbag dirty player – Frankie Luvu – did get a well deserved fine for a hip drop tackle from last week.
