of his life. But as the great Tom Larid used to say, is it pain or is it injury? And 48 hours later, Besser is right back in the Vancouver lineup for this game against his home state team with the puck drop and play underway here in this game against the Canucks. Vinnie Henestroen to take this face off against Lucas Reicho. Lost at puck center. triples to the crease, knocked away by the goalender. Gusters going to try to pass for Sone, but he was headed to the bench and replaced by Elias Patterson. Eric Senkin centers for Baldi. Spin move and a shot. And Jenko there to make the save. And now Capri onto the left wing. Johansson moves in with a wrist shot. Jenko got it with the right arm. He tried to cover but he pulled it back with too much force. Puck squirted in the middle. Shot wide by David Uric from the blue line. Now Zion puts the puck behind legal wild try to center. Blocked by Pio Joseph Johansson’s onto it. He had that shot off the left wing that gave Deenko some trouble now. Passes down from Marco Rossi. Fino round to the far side. Teen up instros with a shot. The right pad save by Demco. Eric rebound that they just continue to pounce with. Good read by Heronic and a centering pass. Rebound. Mckern is stopped by Gust. his first test after Minnesota. Wild Jared Spurgeon with the wrist shot through traffic and Demco to make a stick save on that one. Rossi on this face off against Max. The Canucks win it. Corona might ice dump free by Evander Kane and he’ll bring it ahead for Vancouver. Kuck lines mixed up a bit after the penalty kill. There’s a right pad save off McKern but Gustiffson the Wild thought they could do a quick cut but Person stayed there to intercept that pass. Wild move in Eric across to scores. [Applause] It was not the cleanest of entries. His second as a member of the Wild and all this bouncing puck. It gets knocked out of the air by Eric Zk and Terara Senko’s able to get it to his backhand and underneath Demco who reaches out with that left pad but isn’t sure Terraenko’s going to elevate it or slide it and it goes underneath and in Minnesota’s power play comes to life one- nothing. He passes down to Sherwood. Here’s Carlson against Leis Carlson. Back to heronic. Wrist shot blocker saved by Augustus who saw that one all the way. He’s on the line with Elas Patterson. Jake to Brusk to start period number two. Vladimir Terosenko has the game’s only goal. Danks the puck to the corner for Sherwood. Spinning on Brock F. Back to the blue line. Elias Patterson. Shot tipped off the side of the net by Kane. Then he got his own rebound but couldn’t put it short side past Gustiffson. Wild break out. Terasenko the goal score on this pass. Heronic unloaded the puck and Minnesota able to pick it up but Baldi’s pass went off the end of his stick and Verona brings the puck to center. Go one in off the glass. Kane around for Tom Vander. Passes near side to Kane. Tease it up. Hard shot by Marcus Patterson. Stop. Kane passes to Heronic. Nice feed to Kane. Works his way over the Minnesota blue line. Finds some space. Following up is Heronic with a blast and swallowing that up is Gustoson. Here’s the Brusk making moves to the back. Feeds back. Coronic with a shot. Blocker save. Rebound comes back to the left point after that hard check I believe from Pit. Here’s Pitlick the other way. Trenan slides one to the goal. Knocked away by Thatcher Demco. See Boo Terasenko missed the pass and out come the Conucks O’ Conor to Arach back to Okconor far side. Mcken with a shot they score on the rebound. O’ Conor going to the net. McKenzie Mckert has his first point as a Vancouver Canuck on the first goal of the season for Drew O’ Conor that ties the game at one. And the smart play is to get it to the middle of the ice. It’s going to happen there. Bro, Connor off to the side and then right to the net for the rebound. It goes right onto his stick after McKan guides it towards the goalender who can’t handle the rebound properly. Okconor’s right there. Jams it home to the middle. Knocked away by Heronic who now goes after the puck and sends it near side but Minnesota has players there. her favor across. Baldi off the shoulder of Thatcher Demco. Rossi sends one down to Capri who cuts across leaves the puck. Rossy down low brought in front and a shot stopped by Demco. It was a block. Like to circle up high and then do a lot of interchange. So you got to communicate but there’s an open lane towards the net. You’re right. That is a great save. Just sneaks to Johansson. He thinks he could just elevate the catchy. Mcker check from behind. Ratu gets the puck at the side of the net. Feeds it back. Here’s Meyer shooting. Kicked out for the left pad of Gustson. Back from the wild. Hartman delays across and Felo missed the pass. He had some room there on the left wing. Now it’s Hartman in front to the side and Capriov is stopped by Demco again moving to his left and able to seal the post and get the whistle. most electric player comes out from behind the net. Thinks he can wedge it through Demco. Watched by Sherwood makes a move down the near boards now gets around her in the corner. Matt Overy sharp angle shot. Deco again had the Here’s a chance for Rick and getting a piece of that was check to stick tip the puck over the net. Alexander Kane on a wrap around backhander stopped by Augustus and Perona gets the loose puck at the blue line. Passes down for Kefir Sherwood. Peronic dumps the puck around to Kane. Other side for Sherwood. Couldn’t reach it. Felino tried to move the puck out. Tied up by Peronic. But now it’s sent off the boards and down to the Vancouver blue line. Elias Patterson indirect pass. A good one to Riel. Here’s Rossi moving in on Meyers. Marco Rossi turns. Minnesota’s changing defense. Puts one in front and a shot through one off the side of the net. Get to the glove side. Seal things off. This time he’s not against the post, but he keeps that elbow. Rossi wins it, but just held in by Middleton. There’s a long shot. Rebound. They score. Rossi. [Applause] He won the draw cleanly and he went to the front of the net to make it 2-1 Minnesota. Then you got to know what you’re doing afterwards. And Jerenko’s going to go up high. And as this puck pops down, Rossi’s the first one to find it. Joseph wanted to block that shot. Instead, it lands right on the tape of number 23 and the Wild take the lead. Subject of a lot of talk in the off season. Marco Rosson, Patrick Demco in goal to our left. [Applause] and Philip Gustinson for the Minnesota Wild to our right. Canucks 0 for one on the power play. Second opportunity here to start the third period and a chance to pull even at two. Reich got his stick on it in front. Now he feeds back. Meyers with a shot stopped through traffic by Gustoson. And over the puck comes Vinnie Hennis throws over with a burst of speed. Gets around Meyers. It’s twoon one now. His throws off. Scores. First goal of the year for Vinnie Henestroen on a solo effort and the Wild lead by two. But the Conucks all sorts of pressure and then Minnesota’s off the other way. Myers gets beaten in the neutral zone. It’s a two-on-one. Get a shot to the goalender. And normally this would land into the glove of Demco. Instead, it just kind of folds the clock and into the back of the net. Hill gets and Terasenko will dump one to the far side. Eric skates onto the puck. Back hands it around to the near goes. Brodin down for the left point. Puts one on goal. Oh, it’s in. Is on the blocker side. Seems harmless. Seems like he’s in good position. And Brodin near the goal line, but it goes off the cuff of Demco. Something about this building. There’s a goal right off the draw. Okconor. So he gets one to break his goalless drought to start the season. Now he’s got a couple both down low to Sherwood. Up to Brock Besser. Six attackers for the Cubs. Elias Patterson. Brock Besser watched by Hartman. Person one-time hit a leg and went wide. Hartman turns golfs the puck down and he scores. an empty header from about as far as you can score. Blue line hit a body in front and this is just about taking your chances and the fans will start to salute their team here as Minnesota gets its first win of this home state and ends a fivegame losing streak. It’s their eighth straight win over the Canucks in this building. [Music]

Vladimir Tarasenko finished with a goal and two assists while Jonas Brodin, Joel Eriksson Ek and Vinnie Hinostroza each recorded two points to lead the Minnesota Wild to a 5-2 win over the Vancouver Canucks.

  1. love these depth players but they're not the ones to count on for the offence every night. ep40, Boeser, Debrusk and Kane need to be more than lead weights every game..

  2. People pay money to see The Canucks, and I have never figured out why. Truly the lamest NHL team in history. Sad, because they have had some great players, but I guess the west coast time change for games leaves the players tired? I have no idea. Yawn.

  3. This is what we (wild) needed… Not just a win, but secondary scoring… Tarasenko with a multi point night plus hinestroza… Finally a good game from the wild
