Terrance Ferguson, Konata Mumpfield, Jared Verse & Byron Young React To Win Over The Jaguars

you know, uh, it was a great call by coach. It was fourth and short, you know, taking a deep shot like that. It was set up through a bunch of other plays that were done. We were running the ball out of 13 a lot and, uh, so coach had had a great call there, setting it up. Um, I was running the route. He was already panicking on the on the run, then the corner, and then so the post was just wide open. Just blessed to be putting the opportunity, the coaches, uh, everyone to trust me, and then obviously it was a great throw right in the bread basket. You’ve talked about staying patient through this process. Like what how did that one feel for you today? Yeah, it felt really good, you know. Uh it’s always a blessing. I think everyone wants everything right now. Uh especially right now with social media and our phones, everyone just everything happens now. Everyone wants it on their timing. But uh really trusting God’s timing. Uh whenever that was trusting in the coaches, trusting in the process has been huge for me. Leaning on my faith obviously. Uh so it meant a lot for all that to come to fruition um and be able to score a touchdown here in a big game uh with with the guys. So your first your first career catch goes for a first down on third down, your second goes for a touchdown. Just what’s it been like to be able to make an impact like that and I guess such an efficient way. Yeah. You know, just honestly I’d say take back to the coaches that put me in good situations, trust me in big moments, the fourth down and the third down. um and just showing my ability to be able to make explosive passes or explosive plays and uh get open. So, it definitely it definitely means a lot when those are kind of big moments, but just everyone trusting me and obviously it’s it’s a full thing. So, where do you feel like you’ve gotten better the most from the start of your rookie year to where you’re at right now? Yeah, I’d say there’s a lot of things. I’d say blocking is a big thing. Uh just being able to learn from some of the guys, from Higs, from KBY, from DA. Those guys have taught me so much and just kind of understanding the game and I’d say the blocking definitely came the longest. You know, patience was the hardest thing a couple weeks ago. Uh how does it feel to kind of get that first? Man, it’s such a it’s such a blessing. All glory to God and like I was just saying it’s uh when you have to wait and you wait on God’s timing and you trust in the coaches, the process. Um everyone’s putting you in a great situation, but everyone wants stuff now. You want now, you want now. So being able to take a step back, enjoy the process, um get better throughout the days and uh all the hard work comes with this. So and many more. So I I’m really blessed and just grateful. Can you kind of walk us through what you saw on that play? Uh really it was a play I scored on in practice actually. Uh crosser mesh uh and I just kind of seeing the coverage the way it was kind of set out. I felt like I knew I had an opportunity on that ball. So, uh, I just kind of went up to him, set him up, gave him a slight little jab, and and the ball was there. So, you know, with with nine, anything’s possible. So, shoot. How did you pick out the first celebration? Oh, we plan we planned this all week. Uh, really, I just knew soccer was big over here overseas. And, um, I know Christian Ronaldo is like a big name and and the celebration when he does the celebration, the whole crowd. Yeah. S. So, we was practicing it all um all week. So every time we scored, winded it up. Soo, so that’s how we kind of came up with it. Good to get that first one. How’d it feel to kind of get the first touchdown kick? It felt amazing. You know, I just got to thank God for putting me in that situation. I want to thank uh Coach Mcy, you know, Stafford, the whole team because, you know, it’s it’s a blessing for sure, especially over in London, too. You mentioned Stafford. Just what did you make of his day overall with five touchdown passes? Oh, man. Matt Stafford doing Matt Stafford things, you know, uh greatness. So, it it’s amazing to be able to play with him and just see with my own eyes, for sure. What do you think about the energy level the team had after the flight Friday night and then playing today? I thought it was good. I felt like uh Coach Mcy and the staff did a good job uh doing things for basically for our body to be ready for for this game and uh like he said in meetings while we was in Baltimore is for the best best of the players. So, and we that’s what we did. So, Dvonte went out there Dvonte went out there and had three touchdowns today. just what has it been like as a young player to share receiver room with him and what what kind of things do you learn from him, you know, seeing what he’s able to still do at this age? Uh, it’s amazing. You know, like I said, it’s a blessing. It’s just like staff for two Hall of Famers. Um, and you know, he he’s a great guy. He he’s willing to share with what he knows and, you know, how how great he’s been in his career. So, it’s been amazing. He’s a great dude, obviously, a great player and so it it’s amazing just to continue to learn from him and grow. Devonte said that he feels like you’ve, you know, he’s been, he appreciated the way you’ve approached your rookie year. He said he thinks you you’re ahead of where he was at this point in his career. Like what has your approach been to just developing in such a deep room? Uh really just focusing on being the best version of myself. Uh it’s a blessing to be playing the game that we are today. So I mean a lot of people wish they were in my shoes. So really just taking a step at a time, a day at a time, uh stacking days and learning as much as I can from those guys cuz like I said, I mean I prayed honestly I prayed in college and in high school to learn from a guy like D. Adams. So that’s who I kind that’s who I watched growing up. So definitely just that approach. Is there anything that when you you watched him growing up, is there anything that being his teammate that has made it even more special because of that? Oh yeah, definitely. I mean I just it’s kind of like amazing. Every time you step out there you like, dang, you out there with a Hall of Famer. And like I said, a guy that you watch and just how he approaches the game and how cerebral he is with his tech his technique and everything. So I don’t want next to BY. That’s what I want. That’s what I want next to. That’s what I want next to. It’s noted. It’s all good. Clock it. Clock it. Yeah, you’re right. You’re right. All right. Now that cut that. You cut that. We’re not cutting it. I mean our way. My bad. No, we’re doing it together, bro. Together. Oh, cool. Last year the buy you guys were one and four. A very different feel obviously going into this buy. How do you evaluate where you guys are especially compared to last year? Well, you know, like I was telling the whole time just the past two years, you know, different situation, you know, this year, you know, we up, you know, going to the buy, you know, happy and stuff like that. You know, still, you know, got the same mentality and everything, you know, not laying up, but, you know, just great to be in this position. First play of the game, Jared, you get a sack. just what did you guys feel like that did in terms of you know setting the tone for you know the defense the rest of the game? I think it just lets everybody know that we coming after y’all. You know we know we know our defensive line you know me Kobe Fitz by you we know we’re able to do especially when we get after it. We knew they wasn’t going to be able to stop us at all. Josiah too Nick Hampton want to call out the whole D line. My bad. I was just I just trying to throw some names out there. My bad. Get your hand off my shoulder. It was kind of weird. We held it for too long. Yeah. A little bit too long. How do you guys feel the energy was after flying Friday night and getting here and playing today? We thought the energy was great. I mean, especially not being here for, you know, like a couple days to be able to get used to kind of acclimated and everything like that. No crazy sleep. I feel like the energy was exactly where it had to be. I feel like it might have been better than, you know, anywhere else we played. I agree. I just feel like the mindset just knowing that we didn’t have that much sleep and everybody just think, oh, they just flew in like Yeah, we had an energy like, okay, everybody think we, you know, we just lack a day zo sleepy and stuff like that. We were ready to go. We were ready to go and get home. So, that’s what we did. So, you heard what other people were saying and you felt a point to to prove otherwise. Oh, not a just, you know, try to prove them wrong. Just show them that like, you know, we built for stuff like this. Like we flying all the way over here across the country and it’s like just what we do. So, where do you feel like you guys are at after seven games? I feel like we right where we need to be. We took the uh we learned the lessons we had to learn. We realized what it’s like when we put together four quarters. You know, obviously there was a play here there where we uh got lack of days ago. We didn’t stand to our true standards. I feel like we’re in a good place right now, but the only thing we can do is uh get better.

  1. I guess we can expect Konata to be another late round WR gem. We got a W in trade from Jalen Ramsey with that pick that got us Byron Young. Coaching made him a beast.

  2. Great way to go into the bye week!! Best start since 21 and now the RAMILY knows!! The LA RAMS are a
Second half of the season kinda team!! Rams are gonna cement there status among the Elite coming out the bye!!

  3. Rams are a selfless team. Every position is built on multiple players, even superstars like puka and verse have DAWGS next to them they can trust. Thats how an nfl team should be built.

  4. 5:30 These guys are literally like brothers, I thought I heard my own dad in the background telling them to stop, great to see the bond these two defensive monsters have

  5. People forget Ferg was hurt in training camp. He missed a LOT of time and work! He hasn't been on the field much, because blocking, for a TE in McVay's scheme is MORE important than route running and catching TD's! He HAS to know all of the blocking assignments so that Stafford doesn't get KILLED! The more he catches up, the more he will be on the field! Higgs is pretty much almost done! Ferg will be the #1 TE by year end and DEFINITELY for the future!

  6. I love the great team spirit shown here by these top quality Athletes and Football Players. It's been brilliant to have them here in our country again. You should all be very proud of yourselves because as Ambassadors for your team your city and your wonderful country you have been absolutely brilliant.
