In order to win a World Series you have to spend money. Come on Cubbies – do it.

  1. Everyone should spend. But are you making this same post if the ball bounces like a foot either way one of 5 times for the blue Jays over the last 2 nights?

  2. Blue Jays just choked. Their closer gave up a home run to the 9th hitter who hasn’t hit a homerun since the great depression.

  3. The reality is Dodgers are more likely to add Tucker than we are to resign him. Meanwhile Wrigleyville is printing money. Ricketts are truly evil

  4. Dodgers #1 in payroll Blue Jays #5.

Bichette and Cease to Chicago let’s go!!!!!!!

  5. Toronto constructed a roster good enough to do it and honestly should have. It’s better than ours. They paid Vlad, we wouldn’t have. That’s the difference sadly unless this upcoming lockout changes something.

I think the thing I hate most is the Dodgers using deferral loopholes like it’s 1985 using layaway at K-Mart. Thus allowing infinite depth in addition to the best money can buy.

  6. Look at the contracts, the cubs built this roster to have a 27 lockout, and I fully expect them to use that as an excuses for a cheap rebuild into 28. I’ll be genuinely shocked if they sign anyone of consequence before the 29 season. Really hope Im proven wrong.

  7. Watch, the Cubs will refuse to sign Tucker or likely any big free agent then the dodgers will still sign Tucker to big money. Then the Cubs will regress and the dodgers will win again. Not hard to predict

  8. Game 7 goes to extra innings and people are suddenly acting like the billion dollar Dodgers cruised their way through the WS

  9. Blue Jays spend. But they’re so much more likable. Bummed they lost. Loved that team and how they went about it.

  10. Yamamoto was a fckn beast and the Cubs should’ve given him whatever he needed to be here.

The Cubs should’ve given and spent all the money. This sport doesn’t have a salary cap.

  11. I guess maybe it doesn’t matter if the Cubs spend when the Dodgers have a juggernaut with a stranglehold on the NL. That’s the only silver lining here, since we know the Cubs have zero interest in actually trying to win.

  12. There’s no chance we’re spending meaningful money knowing that a lockout is coming in 2027.

  13. Here’s the thing we all act like the Dodgers some secret sauce. Yet the Blue Jays sit at number five in payroll.

Spend the fucking money, Tommy boy

  14. I mean, I’m just glad the dodgers beat the jays, the guys that kept our underdog Seattle brothers from a World Series appearance. We all know how that feels after 2003

  15. Blue Jays came back home up 3-2. They had the bases loaded with 1 out in the 9th and couldn’t get the winning run home. Payroll didn’t matter in those moments. One team executed and the other didn’t.

  16. As long as ticket sales and Marquee subs don’t fall off a cliff, Tom doesn’t have to spend big money
