Bart Scott, Willie Colon, and Connor Rogers react to Jets getting first win of season over Bengals

Well, it took almost two months
for the Jets have their first win of the season. A thrilling
3938 win over the Cincinnati Bengals and week gate. With
that, we welcome you to Jets post game live presented by Audi
visitor to try to stay out of jail to get behind the wheel
of yours today. Alongside Bart, Scott Willie,
cologne kind of Rogers. I’m Steve
gelb’s. It’s like Gales 0.2 like regulars feet. I mean a happy postgame show. Thank you guys. Yes, I did it. I did not.
Listen, it looked bad for a moment. Like they couldn’t stop
the run when Cincinnati came back and responded, but for the
Jets to come back and respond again, you talk about God,
stepping up the young receiving Corps, you have to give credit
for all those guys that that contributed to the
wind but you got to tip your hat to also Justin Fields. Yes. Yes sir. Justin feels. Like we
said he was challenged as a football player, you know, some comments from the
owner that may be hurt his feelings but this is football
and you show what you are, what you made out of about how you
respond to he responded magnificently. But the The real stars are the
running backs that I think put the team on their back and did
everything that they needed to do to secure win. Hopefully, it’s a blueprint to
go forward. Yeah, the Jets rushing attack was phenomenal.
Pre-salt. This was his last game as a jet and we’ll get into
that here wants it to be, but it was
a fantastic way to Showcase his talents and all that he can do. But I will say it’s not just the
rushing attack from the running backs, but if you
want to talk about the
game-winning touchdown, how about that? Play
the play call and the Ian for briefs all that half back pass
to Mason Taylor. Yeah, I was nervous. Do think I did not have confidence that
we will be able to be successful on that. But listen
you put in your Playmakers and he made a play. I think what’s
interesting about this play right here too. There’s a second
way he you know he’s obviously the defense is
outflanking to get stopped. He pumps it holds it, throws it
again and this is why you draft a 65
66 tied in to win the ball up in the air.
So you see mr. Taylor. Pulling her, man for the go-ahead
touchdown. I can’t speak enough to breach
man because it takes a lot of resilience knowing that You can
make it be a difference, make a difference, like you did
today. And on top of that, we’ve been
saying it all. Year you go through him, good things
happen. He proved that he put it on tape
today. Yeah, and I got to throw a game
ball to this offensive line because there were exceptional
today. Justin Fields had all day to throw and that buildup is
calm comfort and confidence. I thought old loofah chanu was
phenomenal in pass protection in this game even before Trey
Hendrickson left in the second half, they couldn’t sniff the
quarterback and they got off the ball in the Run game and
buried people, and that starts with Armand member who John Simpson. Joe Tippmann, the tight ends blocked and
that’s something they haven’t done all year. I thought the
offensive line really set the tone in the second half of
the come back, and the Jets Run game was phenomenal and I agree.
The running backs were great but man, the way those
dudes fought in the trenches today was exceptional, 254 yards
rushing as a team. The Jets average 6.9, Russia’s per carry this afternoon Breeze Hall, 18
carries 133. Isaiah Davis seven carries for 65 yards. This was kind of the blueprint
from One of what Aaron Glenn and the
Jets wanted to be as an offense and you look at, you know,
Justin feels 3032, pass attempts, knowing you had to
come back but that’s where you want. If you want to 25 to 32,
that’s where we used to keep Mark, right? And you play great
defense, not only bad part, right? And listen,
doesn’t matter. I rather have a
win but you know that defense and we
knew it was going to be that way. That’s why I want to listen
to Archer letter as they’re talking about it. I’m
saying, listen, they’re trying to stop them in a six-man box
and not give a big, big play. Yes, they gave up A big
truck runs in the Run game and at times it costs them. But if
you’re not, if you’re handed off the, you’re not throwing the ball, right?
That throwing a ball and put guys one on one. We saw that
with the Ricky Smith and Higgins, got explosive play. That’s a, that’s a five second
score, you know? So many different
things that can happen. When you’re trying to run the ball
six-man, box. Yo, you get a penalty, you get procedure,
and you just want them to get behind the sticks. And so, I thought that I had to
be the game plan because you couldn’t get them explosive
plays like Pittsburgh did last week because you never be able
to play. Match them score for score. Yeah, I thought we saw
the impact of currency Williams today, too. I thought he was the
fastest on tape Valley. He’s had rest, but
I thought you talked about big flakes impact player. Somebody
knows see ball, get ball first to the ball. A lot of times man,
they needed a jolt of energy and they got it out of
him. So he was a big factor in today’s. Yeah. And Connor. I also think too. You know,
we’ve talked often about how the defense may look pretty good
throughout the majority of a game and then they give up a
big drive at the end that loses them. The game embarked talks
all the time about how? Well you didn’t have a good defensive game. If when it
mattered, you didn’t stand up to Today. This Jets defense. Did
not look good through a large stretches, especially against
the run. But those last two drives when it mattered, most,
they stood up and they did it without sauce Gardener who you look at in this game, this
is the worst game to not have sauce Gardener because the wide
receiver Talent they have, but those young kids on the backend,
found a way to get it done, whether it was Malcolm
more, who kind of had some ups and downs today. And that’s life as a rookie safety in the NFL, Bart brought up
Azaria Thomas. It’s you know, he thrown into
the fire really third round pick and it’s okay, Katie
Higgins, ghost What’s going on woman? Those
things happen in the failure. This is how once in a while you
got to punch above your weight class and on that last Drive,
they punched above their weight class. And the bangle is even
got a little cute with the clock and tried to run the
ball. And the Jets were not good against
the run today, but they were good against the run when they
needed it. Most in that final moment, it may be weird, but
they were good against the pass. Listen, it is a win. If Jamar
Chase is held under 100 yards, right? So he, they had, you
know, he had 12 receptions, 19 targets, 19 targets, but he
They help they held him in check 91 yards, T, Higgins. Had
the one big explosive play for 44 yards. Other than that, Missin fat, 41
yards, Brown 32, you know, they kept everybody in
check. They say listen we’re not going to let your mark Chase
beat us because we know that he’s the heartbeat, he’s
the energy, he’s the soul of this offense and they kept them
down and they said, hey Beavis with your B Team. Well, on top
of that, you Flacco’s usually does a good job but it’s tied in stay
where non-factor day. So it’s interesting. Huge play Sherwood
at the end it right it. So it was interesting that we were
able to frustrate them from that standpoint. Because I think a lot of you
when I heard sauces I was like, man, this maybe, yeah, maybe a
rough day for us, Flacco threw for 223. That’s all he got for
you. I will say this as well. Now I first guest thought it was
a great decision by Aaron Glenn to, I’m just kidding man. When everyone went for two with
just under eight minutes to go Jets score the touchdown resolve
touchdown down by eight. I’m sitting there
going, what the heck are you doing airing Glenn and then it looked like they
didn’t get it. Yeah, they ended up getting that two point
conversion. And again you know, if we’re going to criticize,
we’re going to sit here and talk about some of the
questionable decisions that are England has made in real time. I question that
one as well but hey, it worked out with them and that’s the
reason that were sitting here 39 38.

SNY’s Bart Scott, Willie Colon, Connor Rogers, and Steve Gelbs react to the Jets’ 39-38 win over the Bengals, Aaron Glenn’s decision to go for a two-point conversion in the fourth quarter, and Justin Fields’s performance.

  1. Huh?!🤔 Where’s Woody ? Oh counting his team profits and annual appreciation of the team he leverages … it’s one game … NFL force the sale of this team!! Where’s Bezos?

  2. As a Pats fan, im actually happy they got the win today with the news of the loss of Nick Mangold. They deserved some good news today and at least for today, im ok with that.

  3. Justin made plays all game…key plays….. that throw Fields made while being tackled to make the two point conversion was critical…respect to AG for making that call. Happy for the Jets, happy for Fields and AG….RIP Nick!

  4. Great team 1st win. Jets D did not look good throughout the game but sealed the game at the end. Fields had his best game passing and running, Breece Hall was dominant running and catching passes, receivers stepped up, linemen had a great game. Don’t forget Williams from special teams.

  5. This Jets win is may turn up to be the greatest mistake of the season. May cost them a franchise QB. 0-17 would have been the best thing. In typical Jets fashion, even when they win, they lose. Breece is a better QB than the Fcking Fullback they have as QB currently.

  6. They won’t have another win like this the rest of the season. The jets don’t deserve as much credit as they are getting. The Bengals defense is the worst in the league.

  7. It’s ridiculous to me that former players are praising the Jets for barely winning against the worst defense in the NFL. That’s like a grown man bragging about beating up a 2 year old
