YOU WON’T BELIEVE What Zac Taylor Said + Injury News On Joe Flacco & Trey Hendrickson
[Music] What’s going on Bengals fans? Chris Dry back with you guys here on Bengals breakdown by chat sports. And coming up on today’s show, we are going to talk some of the injuries that Zack Taylor discussed during his press conference yesterday for this Bengals team. And there’s also some stuff that Zack Taylor uh you know said about the defense and offense that I got to be honest just really does kind of irritate me. So, we’re going to talk about it all here on today’s show, but I want you guys to get down and like today’s video. If you’re going to be a Bengals fan through the good, the bad, the ugly, make sure you get down there and like today’s video. All right, first up, let’s get through some of these injuries here. First up, Joe Flacco. Zack Taylor said he was going to be dayto-day with that shoulder injury and I sure hope to God that Joe Flacco is going to be good to go for this game this weekend against the Bears because what you have in Jake Browning just ain’t it at all. We’ve seen the play from Jake Browning those first, you know, four games that he ended up playing. Joe Flacco only with three games already has more passing yards, has more passing touchdowns. he’s taking care of the football and at the end of the day he’s also taking way less sacks than what Jake Browning was as well. So, uh, you know, I I just really do hope that Joe Flacco is going to be able to go for this game this weekend because if he’s not, uh, you’re going to be right back to square one where the offense was just as bad as the defense. So, what is your concern level over this Joe Flacco injury? Scale it for me 1 to 10 down at the pin comment of today’s show. I kind of have a feeling, you know, he got sacked late in that game and then he went to the locker room and then ended up coming back. So, uh, you know, he was wincing a little bit, but, you know, just shoot that thing up with some, uh, you know, was it a cortisol shot and, uh, you know, send him out there. I I think he’s probably going to be good to go for this weekend, but let me know how you guys feel. What is your concern level over the Joe Flacco injury? All right, the second injury to discuss today is on Trey Hendrickson. Obviously, he went out in that last drive right before halftime. Zack Taylor saying he is going to be dayto-day with that hip injury that he reagravated. You know, you could call it a dirty shot if you want to. I don’t necessarily think it was dirty. I just kind of think if anything probably should have been a block in the back. I don’t necessarily think it was, you know, dirty though at the end of the day. But you really do need Trey Hendrickson out there, man. I I tend to feel like Trey Hendrickson is probably going to be a did not practice or very limited all week long and we’ll see probably on Friday if uh you know he ends up you know maybe even Saturday as well. They’ll probably say if he’s going to be good to go for this weekend or not. But I mean by far and away Trey Hendrickson is your best pass rusher. Uh these are the PFF stats right now for the Bengals pass rushers. Hendrickson is winning 21.5% of his pass rushing opportunities. Um, you know, Shamar Stewart is the only other one at 10.1% that’s over 10% right now. You need Trey Hendrickson out there because when he is not, the Bengals have absolutely zero pass rush. And even to put this into perspective as well, you know, Miles Mur Murphy only has 10 pressures so far this year. That’s even less than what BJ Hill has. And really you your edge rushers should have more pressures than what your defensive tackle should have. And you know Al Golden was asked in uh you know his kind of media availability as well. You know what can they do to help this Bengals pass rush? And he said I’ve got to put the pass rushers in a better position. We’ve got uh to pressure more. Of course you have to win some more of your one-on- ons. That’s part of it. We have to win our one-on- ons and get them off track. So, it’s more of uh, you know, pocket passes and less play action. All of it was coming together to create that. And I I just got to be honest, man. I I don’t understand really the mind shift in Al Golden from his time at Notre Dame last year calling plays for their defense to his time now with the Cincinnati Bengals calling plays. I’m not here to say, you know, uh, you know, blitzes and calling blitzes are going to be your end all be all. You know, obviously you had some blitz opportunities in that game versus the Jets. One where Jordan Battle was coming off the edge there, uh, blitzing and for some odd reason, I don’t really know why, he just kind of checked up before he hit, uh, Justin Fields, and he ends up throwing a touchdown pass on that ball. So, uh, you know, in his time at Notre Dame, he was blitzing 40% of the time. Now with the Cincinnati Bengals, only 16.8% of the time. That, uh, stat, by the way, is per NFL pro. So, I’m not necessarily saying that, you know, blitzing is going to fix all of your pass rushing needs that you have right now, but uh just doing it a little bit more than what you’re doing right now, I definitely do think uh is going to help the Bengals defense out a little bit there. All right, the third injury to talk about here today, Shaka Hayward is going to miss multiple weeks with a leg injury. He had a uh hairline flat uh fracture in his left fibula, so he’s going to miss multiple weeks. really hasn’t played, you know, that much at all, if any really on the Bengals defense so far this year. But he is a core special teamer for this Bengals team. So, we’ll see uh, you know, what ends up happening with Shaka Hayward, who ends up replacing him there on special teams, but he’s also going to be out a couple of weeks. All right, coming up next, we are going to talk about what Zack Taylor had to say after uh that loss versus the Jets. And one thing in particular that really does, you know, tend to irritate me here. We appreciate Omaha Stakes for being the sponsor of today’s show. Now, the Bengals after that loss this weekend had a defensive only meeting after that embarrassing performance. And you know, when it comes to these player only types of meetings, I do appreciate that they care enough to actually do it. You know, you could be in a position right now where you’re like the Miami Dolphins where you have a players only meeting and, you know, guys are maybe showing up late or maybe they even don’t even show up at all. You know, a lot of Bengals defic defensive issues right now really do just come down to the fundamentals, whether it’s taking angles correctly or uh you know, just you know, tackling, not missing tackles. The Bengals right now are leading the NFL in missed tackles by a very, very large margin. They have 81 missed tackles so far this season. The second team only has 60 missed tackles so far this season. That has been a massive issue for this Bengals team. and we can talk all we want, but at the end of the day, these come to Jesus meetings don’t really matter unless something actually changes on the football field. And Zack Taylor did talk about a little bit about this. But, you know, what he followed it up with just continues to annoy the hell out of me at the end of the day. This is the first thing that Zack Taylor said and then we’ll come back to the second thing that Zack Taylor said as well. uh this talking about the you know defensive only meeting he said yeah I think we’ve got some good people in that room excuse me uh and we are into holding each other accountable that is the biggest thing it’s just little things it’s not always a big thing uh you know it’s giving up three extra yards on a run or a perimeter play it’s being a step hesitant or and so maybe you’re not necessarily missing a tackle but you are missing a tackle because of the hesit a little bit of hesitance see there. Uh so those are some things that we are seeing as a unit and as a team that we need to clean up and be better at and there isn’t you know these wholesale changes to be made with that you know with that kind of stuff that’s just fundamentally we have to be a little bit better and that’s really uh you know just at every level of this defense. That’s all well and good. That’s fine. And I understand right now that the Bengals are playing two rookies at linebacker. another rookie at defensive end who has also missed a couple of day uh games here in the first couple of weeks of the season. And those guys are going to make mistakes. There are going to be some growing pains when you are playing multiple rookies on the defensive or really just at all. You know, whether it’s on defense, whether it’s on offense, it doesn’t really matter there. You know, Zach Taylor keeps saying, you know, h how do we find and identify these mistakes and, you know, try not to make them try not to make them again? We’re in week nine already now though and we’re still making the same mistakes week after week after week. You know, we might be able to identify them in the film room, but we just haven’t been able to translate that to the football field and fix these mistakes during games. You know, a lot of it, like I said earlier, it’s angles, it’s leverage issues, it’s missing tackles, and they have been just absolutely atrocious so far this year. You know, Jordan Battle’s angle on that long breeze hall run off the right side late in the game. Yeah, just it really did. I I use this phrase a lot. It’s kind of crazy, but it made me want to headbutt a nail. It was so bad. Just makes me It just I just lose my mind when you see guys, you know, trying to make a play. They come up and then they just hesitate and they let the guy get outside. Like I I just do not understand it. You know, Demetrius Knight’s getting cooked right now a lot on social media. Uh you know, he he got just cooked by Justin Fields on that two-point conversion. You can go back and watch that. he had the angle on him and just breaks down and hesitates and then Justin Fields just runs right by him. You know, there’s another play where, you know, Bree Hall, he meets Bree Hall right in the middle of the hole and he just gets his ankle snatched. And, you know, I I hate keep, you know, to keep griping about Demetrius Knight because it is more than just him on this defense that are having these mistackle problems, you know, having these, you know, problems where, you know, he’s in the wrong place, you know, just constantly. It’s more than just him. a lot of these guys. But, you know, he’s not your average rookie either. He’s not 21, 22 years old. He’s 25. He’s older than Miles Murphy. He’s older than Jordan Battle. He’s older than DJ Turner, Dax Hill. He’s older than Bree Hall. And he’s already been in the league for three and a half years already. I don’t Just stop drafting guys that are 25 years old. There is a reason why they haven’t left college yet. They are just not good enough to make it in the NFL. And what really does piss me off more than, you know, all of those issues is what Zack Taylor continues to go back to. And he continues to go back and kind of cover for the defense miscues by talking about the offense as well. You know, he was saying this during his postgame press conference. He followed uh up that previous statement with this statement here, saying there are certainly things in the other two phases of the game as well that we need to clean up on offense and special teams as well. That hasn’t been good enough either. So, as a team, those are the things that we are all accountable for. And I know the guys are of the right mindset to get it fixed and play better so that we can go win a game. Look, this loss right now against the Jets this past weekend is not on the offense at all. Producer Billy, I got to give a shout out to him cuz he’s the one that made this joke. Uh, you know, he said it’s like when mom and dad get divorced and, you know, they come and they tell you that, you know, it’s not your fault. Well, no No It’s not my fault. I’m not the one that cheated on mom. There is zero reason to add that at the end of that statement. And you know, he just keeps doing it week after week after week. Why do we have to rely on the offense to score on every single drive? It’s been the same thing for the past couple of years. Nobody in the NFL needs to operate that way. The offense literally put up 38 points in this game. There is no reason why you should lose to the worst team in the NFL when you score 38 points. They scored five touchdowns and a field goal on 10 offensive drives. You shouldn’t really be asking for much more than that. You want to go back and say, “Oh, well, you know, we we need to be better on the last two drives.” Maybe that is right. Maybe you do need to be a little bit better in terms of the execution there. But that isn’t the main issue, Zack. The Jets were three for three scoring touchdowns in the fourth quarter. They converted two two-point conversions as well. Stop trying to take the heat off of the defense. This loss to the Jets is 100% on the defense. They have been so bad the past few years that we as Bengals fans now have just settled for wanting a middle of the pack mediocre defense cuz they have been that bad. When you think historically about the AFC North, you think about having really good defense. That really should put some fear in two opposing offenses. This Cincinnati Bengals defense has not been that for the past couple of years now. And I am starting to kind of fear that it’s going to get to a point where, you know, your best players on the offensive side of the ball are just going to start demanding trades, too. You know, it might not be this year, but just wait. It it is going to come to a head eventually. Did you guys see, you know, Jamar Chase’s responses in the postgame, you know, press conference scrum at his locker? It’s, this wasn’t the first time either. He is not happy with the defense just consistently being the reason why this Bengals team continues to lose football games. He wants to win a Super Bowl. And if you are never going to get to the point and play at a solid level on the defensive side of the ball, you’re going to see Jamar Chase. You might even see Joe Burrow, you might see T. Higgins, you’re going to see some guys on the offensive side of the ball. Might not be this year, but it is going to come eventually where they’re going to start demanding a trade. [Music]
Cincinnati Bengals rumors from Zac Taylor’s press conference left Bengals fans more mad than they were after Sunday’s Week 8 loss to the New York Jets. Taylor continues to try to take the heat off of the defense when they are consistently the main problem. Zac Taylor – On Defense Only Meeting (X2)
“Yeah, I think we’ve got good people in that room and we are into holding each other accountable. That’s the biggest thing. It’s just little things. It’s not always a big thing. You know it’s giving up an extra 3 yards on a run or a perimeter play. It’s being a step hesitant and so maybe you’re not missing a tackle but you are missing a tackle because of the little hesitancy there. So those are things that we are seeing as a unit, as a team, that we have to clean up and be better at. And there aren’t wholesale changes to be made with that stuff. Good thing about Browning having to come back in is the run game has look great over the last 2 weeks.
Time for major changes. Flacco can’t save it by himself. And the defense will never help.
Henderson having an injury is not good coming into the trade deadline because you might not get as much as you want for him

Maybe don’t add words when you are literally reading a quote.
We need a linebacker that can rattle ever last bone a RB when they run up the middle. We dont have that
If not for Joe B. I’m already done with the bungles 😡
HIRE GRUDEN
Ossai and Murphy are busts time to send them packing
They can't cover so why blist
Yeah, I didn't understand why on a blitz Jordan Battle slowed down before getting to Fields. I was like WTF is that. And no one mentioned it.
Seriously, why the F does everyone talk around the true issue?? It's not D Tobin, Zac Taylor, Al Golden, Jake Browning,Yoshi, Oline, or pathetic defense and they are pathetic! Of course they're all products of the true problem that's existed for 35 years now. It starts at the top. MIKE BROWN!!!!!!!!!!!! He laughs all the way to the bank every season. He has fleeced, raped, and spit in the face of the great people of Cincinnati and Bengals fans everywhere for decades! It will NEVER change!!!!! When this POS dies his little girl will continue the Brown family way into the future and they'll be another Brown after her who will keep up the larceny and fleecing of Cincinnati so the Brown family just gets richer and richer. Move or sell the team if you have a single shred of human decency. Will you ever reward the fan base? How delusional to even think you'd be grateful and want to give back to the hands that have fed your Mickey Mouse "professional sports organization" and made your family filthy rich. FU Mikey Boy!!!!!!!
I’m cracking up!!! Love you dude!!! 12:55
Every year Zac is here is a year 9f Burrow wasted
Not concerned at all because the Bengals are dead this year. Below 500, Fire whole front office and coaches. Trade , Wilson, Hendrickson, Stone #80( drop king)
He will be good to go
For some reason, guys today don't learn from the past. There were all kind of things that team have come up with to change every conceivable situation. You can name all kinds of things and when you see these guys doing the same thing week after week it makes you wonder about their competence. How to manage teams and play calling, halftime adjustments and you see nothing changing. I could see that the Bengals aren't running the ball enough. How about arm tackles. They looked like the Keystone cops by the end of the game Sunday. It was sad. They could have controlled the game in the fourth quarter by just running the ball and managing the clock. They gave up 23 points in the fourth. What did they do? KEEP THROWING THE BALL!!!!!! It was just stupid.
Defense is just pudding soft.
Has Zac Taylor been fired yet???
I LOVE YOUR FIRE!! PRAY FOR THIS TEAM!!
Shoulder injury? I thought he was just taking a dump at the end of the game
Joe Flacco super bowl
The defense sucks 😔 and Yoshi sucks 😔
The Steelers can't be happy either
It’s not worth my time watching these videos for this trash head coach and this pathetic team. Doesn’t matter they are going nowhere.
We need a new defensive coordinator and head coach
I am probably one of the slowest to come for zack taylors job but if he can say others are to blame for losses and need to “clean up”. Im tired of hearing “clean up”. This is as clean as its going to get. Take blame and stop calling plays. THAT is your role as a coach. To recognize YOUR shortcomings. YOU play a role in these losses. We are ALL tired of it and sad interviews after every game.
It's obvious that Al Golden has zero confidence in the defense's ability to blitz especially the edge rushers.

Comparing college defense stats to pro defense stats is disingenuous as it is a totally different game as pro players are faster and stronger
Yeah I said give up on you so much too and play Burton or Tinsley and Charlie Jones ain't doing s*** either Mitchell
History says the Bengals don't win games are supposed to win and sometimes they'll win games if there's not supposed to win so they're going to lose again at home to Chicago so get ready to be sad again
If we had a good owner after Sunday's game somebody's head should have rode that was ridiculous
Maybe it's time to stop going I mean they don't win they don't want to pay nobody if the stadium is not full they're not making any money so maybe they'll sell the team because I've been a fan for years and it's the same thing every year we got one lucky year and that's it
I would do anything for a mid defense
Can we put Zac Taylor on the trading block
Zack is a moron . But he is better than Marvin by far
