But let’s get to this one between the Brooklyn Nets and the Philadelphia 76ers. The Brooklyn Nets coming into this one off a 11712 loss to Atlanta in their last match up to fall to 0 and5 on the year. 2-3 against the number while Philadelphia 4-1 straight up and against the number this season after a 109 108 loss to the Boston Celtics, their first L of the season. And um you know, excuse me, Philadelphia in that game, you know, was still a uh you know, was still just they they they they battled back. They did a good job of coming back in that game, but unfortunately just you know, fell too far behind to uh to come back in the fourth quarter. But I’ll tell you know, my big takeaway from that is that there’s still a really solid core for the Sixers here. and that I’m not going to feel as I don’t want to say hopeless, but as you know, I’m just there’s there I don’t know the word I’m trying to think of here, but just like I’m not going to feel as down on the on the Sixers when Joel Embiid misses out. He’s a big piece, don’t get me wrong, but you know, you got Tyrese Maxi and VJ Edgecom has been a stellar find already, you know, in the draft and, you know, I’m not crowning a guy rookie of the year in five games, but I’ll tell you, he looks really really strong out of the gate. And I think that he’s going to be solid here and especially I think he’s going to be solid against this Brooklyn Nets team that yeah was manage managed to keep it close against Atlanta. But still for the most part this has been a Brooklyn team that’s had really bad you know problems with defense early on in the season. I mean this Brooklyn defense is 29th in field goal percentage defense. Dead last against the three and that’s problematic here against a Philadelphia offense that leads the NBA through their first five games in three-point shooting. shooting 41.3% from three-point range. I I just And they also have a great edge in defensive rebounding in this matchup. Brooklyn is the worst defensive rebounding team in the NBA this year. So, I think that uh like I said, I think this matchup’s going to be problematic for Brooklyn, as a lot of matchups are going to be this season. Normally, we’ve been able to back the Brooklyn Nets as a decent underdog, but I don’t know if we’re going to be able to this season. I just think this is a team on the on the decline. It’s crazy to say considering that they weren’t a great team to begin with, but I think it’s just getting it’s going to potentially get even worse here for Brooklyn. So, I’m going to lay the points here with the 76ers. I just think they find a way to get it done, get the winning cover on the road, and that’s going to be my free pick.
