Today is November 2nd, welcome to the off-season.

In case you missed it, the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Toronto Blue Jays 5-4 in 11 innings on a decisive homer slapped by Will Smith.

The Mets are hosting their annual MetsGiving Food Drive to benefit City Harvest on Thursday, November 13 from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. at the Mets Team Store. City Harvest is New York City’s first and largest food rescue organization. This year, City Harvest will rescue more than 86 million pounds of nutritious, high-quality food that would otherwise go to waste and deliver it for free to hundreds of food pantries, soup kitchens and community partners across the five boroughs. Fans donating at least 10 non-perishable items will receive a voucher redeemable for two tickets to a select Monday – Thursday Mets home game in 2026. Fans will be limited to one ticket voucher. Fans who donate will also receive an exclusive 20% discount at the team store.

  1. Is anyone worried about the Dodgers making a run for Diaz. It seems to make a ton of sense and they are prob the only team who could pay him more than us.

  2. To me it feels like we desperately need Benge and Jett to be very good.

I dont see many trade options offensively. And if alonso isnt back, we better be moving soto or nimmo to 1B. Im not convinced clifford will hit. I know he might BB a lot but thats if they dont just start attacking him.

  3. If the Mets lost in a game 7 of the World Series in the manner the Jays did last night, I’d be on suicide watch for the entire winter.

Absolutely brutal how many chances they had in games 6 and 7 to put the series away, and each time they had the wind blowing their way, they turned into the 2025 Mets.

  4. I really don’t get how successful the salary cap propaganda has been.

It really doesn’t make sense. There’s things at place to make sure it never happens, and cheap owners benefit the most of a salary cap not existing.

I understand the Ohtani situation is frustrating, but it’s such a 1 in a million scenario that there’s really nothing to regulate.

  5. Bring on the offseason!

    My darkhorse trade candidate?

    None other than Nolan Arenado.

    (Age 35) – 2026 – $27m ($5 is being paid by Colorado)

    (Age 36) – 2027 – $15m

New Front Office / POBO / Will shed salary

    Generational defense.

    Veteran locker room guy.

He can be had for very little.

(I only say Arenado because I have a hunch that 1 or 2 of Mauricio, Acuña, Baty, and Vientos will be moved this offseason).

  6. IKF blew the game for the Jays. Terrible lead. Staring at the fielder halfway down the line. Not running through home plate. You have to score there. To make matters worse, Yankees fans are thrilled with the Jays losing. Brutal.

  7. Objectively, that was a great World Series and probably one of the best we’ve had in years.

BUT, I really feel for blue jays fans man – what a fucking brutal way to lose. If the Mets were in that scenario and lose both game 6 and 7 in that fashion at home despite multiple situations where they could have ended it I’d legitimately be sick.

10 years later and I still can’t even watch highlights of the 15 World Series without getting a knot in my stomach, so I can only imagine how this one stings for jays fans. (Unless they win next year or something)

  8. That had to be one of the greatest WS games in history. The bottom of the 9th was insane with that bases loaded force out at the plate followed by the collision and catch by Pages. As soon as I saw the LF turn around and run full speed to the wall, I thought the game was over for sure.

I’m normally old school, but even I question why the Jays sac bunted the runner over to 3rd in the 11th. Giving up an out there is huge.

Yamamoto was huge. What a baller.

The defensive play of the Dodgers and Jays is light years ahead of ours. I can’t imagine our D making any of those big plays last night.

  9. -the bad guys win again forever

    -Joe Davis fucking sucks

-jays made a catastrophic blunder throwing a bunch of ex Phillies relievers out there to close out a game 7

-absolutely gutted for everyone in Toronto, that was one of the most brutal losses I’ve ever seen

    -Nolan McLean is very good

    -Juan Soto is very good

-it’s still World Series or bust next year, and every year we have a competent owner who loves the team and has access to an infinite money glitch

  10. Maybe this is cope but I just want us to be competitive. Divisional titles or at least comfortable playoff clinches… if we run into the Dodgers and beat them that’d be great but first let’s get into those positions first.

That said let’s get Skubal and win it all.

  11. IKF messed up badly but I like to think if he had a proper lead then somehow the batter was gonna line out for a double play or something.

Just about everything that happened from the 8th inning on felt like the baseball gods saying “nope, Dodgers are winning it all again, fuck you”

  12. So happy the season is finally over. Looking forward to spring training. In the meantime…hockey.

  13. More I think about the game last night and the series as a whole. That was a generational choke job by the Blue Jays

  14. After watching the WS, we are so far away from competing like the Dodgers and Jays did. We can def make up some ground but the culture surrounding this team needs to change. Stearns emphasizing run prevention is hopefully a step in the right direction. Let’s see what he can do this offseason and how it translates in season.

  15. I heard that this World Series was a classic.
But I didn’t watch any of it. I
I would have much rather the Blue Jays won it, but whatever…

I had no interest in watching anymore baseball given how the Mets were so exhausting this year and sucked the baseball life out of men.

My only interest in the World Series was wishing it would end quickly so the off-season machinations could really get underway.

  16. I’m still annoyed the Dodgers won because I hate repeat champions. The breaking of long droughts is much more fun then dynasties, dynasties kind of suck the fun out of sports. That said, I don’t really hate the Dodgers much, so beyond my distaste for dynasties, I didn’t have a huge investment in who won that World Series.

Which means I had a REALLY fun time watching an absolute classic of a Series. Still shitty outcome last night, but that was the most fun I’ve had watching a neutral baseball game since the 2016 World Series.

  17. I’m trying to imagine what this sub would look like if what happened to the Blue Jays last night happened to us instead. Their sub seemingly has some positive posts today.

I feel like the FBI would have to get involved in this sub with all of the death and sui**** threats, murder and arson plots, terrorism and just complete insanity we’d see in here lol

  18. As bad as the Mets’ season was, I’ve already kinda gotten over it, the team just wasn’t good. Going forward, we should have many better chances than 2025 to win a world series, that was not our best shot.

I would not recover from what the Blue Jays just did if I was a fan of them. This might have been their best shot for a while, they had SO many chances to finish the job and came up short.

  19. That blue jays loss last night might be the most brutal loss I’ve ever witness in sports, given the context. 28-3 comes to mind, the Seahawks throwing a int at the goal line. But this just feels more brutal. This isn’t something that will ever be lived down.
