Vlad Jr. and the Blue Jays got exactly what they deserved and I’m not sorry for saying it.

There’s a big difference between celebrating a win and being disrespectful, and what Vlad did clearly crossed that line. True professionals let their performance do the talking. Instead, he chose to mock another team on national TV, taunting us with one of our signature phrases. That’s not confidence, that’s immaturity, especially when you haven’t actually won anything.

The Blue Jays organization deserves criticism too. A professional franchise that should value class and competition (as the Yankees consistently do), should never condone mocking an opponent. Blasting “New York, New York” after a win was a classless move, plain and simple. The fact that no one in the organization stepped in to address it speaks volumes.

Sportsmanship matters. Win or lose. True leadership means setting the standard for how you represent your team, your city, and your fans.

  2. Vladdy balled out and his team was constantly one inch away from winning…yeah it sucked to watch them gloat about beating us but that comes with the territory of being the Yankees. Only way we get revenge is if we go out next year and beat them.

  12. I hear you, and I would hope and expect that if the roles were reversed our guys would act accordingly, but this is what comes with being the Yankees. Any shot anyone can take at the Yankees they do it, period. They’ll be yapping about how they won the ALDS all off season and through next year. Just what it is.

  16. This is so soft. They beat the Yankees and taunted them with their song. Done like it, don’t lose. No one was harmed, no personal attacks or bringing up family was involved. They did win something, the ALCS, and reveled in it. They did let their performance do the talking when they destroyed Yankee pitching over and over. If the Yankees won, no one would care rubbing it in a bit. Half the posts on this sub right now are Yankee fans rubbing in a loss the Yankees weren’t even good enough to hand the blue jays themselves.

    Also no need to announce this is the last we will hear from you regarding the World Series, no one knows who you are or is waiting on your Reddit opinions lol.

  19. You’re right, he hasn’t won anything. And yeah, maybe he did act immaturely in the heat of the moment (although he was egged on by that idiot steroid user). But man if he didn’t have an amazing post season run. Best hitter in the playoffs. Give me Vlad on the Yankees any day.

  22. I’m not glad because I’m not a fan of either of these teams hopefully this will wake Steinbrenner and the Yankees FO up to spend money to make upgrades to both the bullpen and pitching staff

    This is the same Yankees that had the most stars implicated in the PED scandals of the 90s and 00s right? The last time they were truly great? Also caught for cheating in 2015 and 2016 and their message was – everyone else is doing it. This is the team we’re saying values class and competition?

    It’s like Astros fans showing up in 20 years talking about how they value competition too. You mix it with the way the Fans treat players – throwing beer, shouting you suck at players during cancer moments, cheering injuries, etc. and it lands a little…different.

    For the record – I am not saying the Yankees are the worst fan base, there are elements of this in every city and team. I just think it’s a little rich to get on your high horse over a song being played – I thought this was the toughest city in the world we’re talking about – if you can make it here, you can make it anywhere and all that.

    Never forget judge blasting NY NY on the boombox in game 2 at Fenway only to then get destroyed 16-1 the next game

  27. Idk what we have to gloat about. Jays kicked our ass all year, kicked our ass in the DS and looked comprehensively better than the Yankees through to game 7 against a team the Yankees are helpless against.

  38. The Blue Jays, they’re not a good team, I don’t care what their record is. They have a lot of wild pitches, they make a lot of mistakes on the field, and they don’t run the bases well.
