Dodgers win INSTANT CLASSIC 2025 #WorldSeries Game 7! | Morning Lineup (MLB Daily Recap)

Here’s the O2 pitch. Kirk bounces one up the middle, bits to the back, over the first to beat the champ. You got to knock them out. The Dodgers stand tall and win back-to- back titles [Music] from mob.com. This is the Morning Lineup podcast. I’m your host, Matt Migan. Today is Sunday, November 2nd, and as famed sports writer Red Smith once said, “The art of fiction is dead. Reality has strangled invention.” It took 25 years, more than two decades, and one of the greatest World Series you’ll ever see. But the Los Angeles Dodgers are backto back World Series champions. We had a game seven Hollywood’s best script writers couldn’t script. We might go over 10 minutes, but so what? It was game seven. Let’s get to it. [Music] There’s a reason they call the World Series the Fall Classic. And this one, with the help of last night’s game seven, might have outclassed almost all the 121 played before it. Saturday night’s final game featured the two-way unicorn Shoi Otani versus the grizzled veteran Max Sher. Both threw two scoreless innings to start off the game. Sher went one, two, three through the top of the third, but in the bottom of the inning, Otani ran into some trouble. The hobbled George Springer somehow singled, his second hit of the game. Nathan Lucas sacrifice bunted him over to second and then Vlad Jr. was intentionally walked. Bo Bashette, another hobbled Blue Jay, came up to the plate with two men on. That was a mistake to intentionally walk Vlad Jr. because baddy and all, Bo went big fly. He’s pitched to Bette. Swinging a fly ball center field. Edmond back. Look it up. That ball’s good. A blast from Boette. And the Blue Jays start the scoring in game seven. A momentous 442 ft home run that immediately knocked Shy Otani out of the game. The third longest homer in Bishett’s career. A three to nothing lead for the Jays. But in the top of the fourth, Sher ran into some trouble. Will Smith let off with a double. Freddy Freeman got into third on a single. Mookie bets fly out, but then Maxy walked. Base is loaded, one out for the always dangerous Tay Oscar Hernandez. Hernandez scalded one to left center. A sure single, maybe a double, but that’s only if Goldver Dalton Bar isn’t there. Lines the ball to center field. Voel and he made the catch. Smith is in to score. It’s three to one, but Dalton Marshall’s goal glove in center field shows up again. An unreal catch in the most dire of circumstances, but still a sacrifice fly to close the score to three to one. And still a chance for more with the October legend Tommy Edmond up to the plate. He lined one down the first baseline, but that’s where another goal glover plays. Vladimir the Great. Hit on a line diving grab. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. diving into foul territory to get Edmond and end the inning. Two amazing defensive plays to hold the Dodgers to just one run. Although there were no runs scored in the bottom of the fourth inning, we have to talk about it because we nearly had a game seven brawl. Andrez came up with one out and kind of it looked like tried to stick his hand out to get hit by a pitch from Justin Robleski. And then on the very next pitch, Robleski did hit Jimenez and whoop. And that one hit him for sure. 96. And Andre Jimenez having words with Robleski. Robleski charging him. And the benches are clearing. Dugouts on the field. Robleski held back by Muny. And the bullpens are clearing out as well in game seven of the World Series. Hey, these are tense times. Both benches were warned and the inning ended a couple batters later. No harm. Well, some harm, but no runs scored. Still three to one Jays. The Dodgers threatened again in the sixth and scored on a sack fly by Tommy Edmund. Three to2 Blue Jays. Creeping closer. But in the bottom of the frame, Ernie Clement, who’s turned into Tony Gwyn this October, hit a single off starter return reliever Tyler Glass. Clement stole second and then after looking like he might bunt for the first few pitches, Andre Jimenez did not bunt. 3-2 Jimenez into right center field. Hernandez will not get there. And it’s 4 to2 Blue Jays. Andre Simenez out of the ninth spot one more time. 4 to2 Blue Jays. The Jays countered glass now by bringing in Treya Savage for the seventh inning. He looked a little shaky coming out of the pen. He walked Show Otani to lead off the inning. Will Smith fly out to center. And then Mr. World Series Freddy Freeman stepped up to the plate. And then there was that Toronto defense again. There was Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Chopped toward first. Vlatty gloves, throws to second. One throw back to first. Double play. But in the top of the eighth, did it tell you Trader Savage was looking a little shaky? Muny launches in the air deep right field. This ball is gone. We are within a run. Four to three Blue Jays. Ernie Clement doubled in the bottom of the eighth. his record-breaking 30th hit of the postseason, but the Jays failed to get him in. That would come back to haunt them. Closer Jeff Hoffman was in to finish off the ninth and send the Blue Jays to their first championship in more than three decades. But that guy Shohi Otani was lingered due up third in the inning. Hoffman struck out Kik Hernandez with Show Otani just one batter away. But um hey, Hoffman really should have been paying attention to ninth batter Miguel Rojos. The unlikely October hero had his moment. Rojos hits it in the air left field. This ball’s got some carry. It is gone. It’s gone. And game seven is tied. Miguel Roas off the bench in game six. On the board in game seven. Teams leading in the ninth inning with a chance to win the World Series were 102 and six all time. 102 and six. Now they’re 102 and seven. Four to four. I mean, how is any of this real? The Blue Jays bounced right back, as you may have guessed, getting two on in the bottom of the ninth, knocking Blake Snell out of the game. Yes, he was pitching. Now into the game, Yoshi Noble Yamamoto. Yes, the man who pitched the night before and probably the night before. And the night before, Yamamoto hit his first batter, Alejandro Kirk, loading the bases. Dalton Varo came up and grounded out to that guy, Miguel Rojos, again, and you wouldn’t know it from his last at bat, but he is a glove first guy. Voel Roller to second. Rojos comes home in time and it’s Miguel Rojos who ties it in the top of the ninth. Saves it in the bottom of the ninth. The legendary Ernie Clement came up next with the outfield in and he got a hold of one. But Andy Bah just subbed into the game would not let this end. Even if it meant bulldozing over his teammate Kik Hernandez. Clement gets it in the air left field. Kik Hernandez running back. It’s in the gap. It is on the track. They converge. PZ reaches up and makes the catch as he crashes into Kik. Oh my gosh, we’re going to extra innings. A Yamamoto miracle in the ninth. Wouldn’t you know it, the Dodgers would also load the bases in the top of the tenth with one out. Andre Jimenez fielded a Pah Grounder and made the force out at home for the second out. And then Kiki Hernandez was out on a bang bang play at first base. The Jays couldn’t score in the bottom of the tenth. And in the top of the 11th, Shane Bieber came in to get two quick outs. But that third out did not come so quickly. It did not come at all with Will Smith. Smith with a smash in the air to deep left field. This ball is out of here. Smith lets it fly and breaks the tie in game seven. 5 to four Dodgers, their first lead of the night. Robert stuck with Yamamoto to close it out in the bottom of the 11th because why wouldn’t he? Flat Jr. led off with a ringing double, keeping the Jay’s hopes alive. Isaiah Connor Falefa sack bunted him over to third. Addison Barger walked and then Alejandro Kirk came up with a chance to send the game to even more extras or even win it all. But Yamamoto was just too good. Broken back ground ball. Betts has it. Steps on the bag. The throw to first. Double play from backs against the wall to backto back. The Dodgers cement their dynasty. Dodgers World Series champions. Repeat champions. The first time baseball has had a repeat champ since the Yankees in 1999 2000. What a series. Woo. I need a break. How about you? We’ll be back with some postgame interviews and reactions after the break. [Music] And we’re back. Hello again. We’re guessing you know who the MVP of this World Series was, but we’re going to tell you anyway. He pitched three games, two starts, one on zero days rest, and put up a 1.02 RA over 17 and two/3 innings with two runs allowed, two walks, three wins, and 15 Ks. He’s the first pitcher with three wins in a World Series since Randy Johnson in 2001. I was not sure if I could uh pitch tonight until I went to uh bullpen, but I’m glad I was able to. I did everything I could I I was supposed to do, and I’m so happy that I was I was able to win this with this team. And how about Miguel Rojas? We have to hear from the guy who was barely starting and then saved the season for the Dodgers. I was never trying to hit a home run. I think this is the first home run against a right-handed pitcher during the whole year and it came to the biggest part of my life in my career. Being the first team in 25 years to win two in a row, Dave Roberts was asked about dynasty talk postgame. We’ve put together something pretty special. I do know that. Um, I’m proud of, you know, the players for the fans, scouting, player development, all this stuff to to do what we’ve done, uh, in this, you know, span of time is is pretty remarkable. And, um, I guess I’ll let it let the, you know, pundits and all the fans talk about if it’s a dynasty or not, but I’m pretty happy with where we’re at. While Roberts danced around it, Freeman is already ready for number three in a row next year. What’s so cool is we get to use the same narrative next year cuz the Yankees are three time back to back. So, we get to use that same narrative next year. [Music] That’s all for today’s morning lineup. Although the Major League Baseball season is over, the Morning Lineup podcast is not. We’ll still be here 5 days a week, Mondays through Fridays, to bring you offseason news, signings, and stories you’ll want to know about. 1. Ohtani 2025 World Series ERA: 7.56. yikes. Had a decent game 4 til the 7th inning but he was awful in Game 7 when he really could have cemented his legacy(umps even gave him 3-5 extra minutes to warm up TWICE). Had no significant impact at the plate in Game 7 although he had 2 hits and a walk. He had no steals no runs no RBIs. Sad. Triggered casuals will reply below 👇🏻 and they’ll mention game 3 but won’t mention when he got thrown out at 2nd base like an idiot in that game in the 9th inning which led to 18 innings in which he did nothing in those extra innings lol 😂

  2. If Ohtani was American, the media would make him bigger than they did Micheal Jordan. The greatest baseball player off all time, possibly best athlete ever?

  3. Roberts pulls off his greatest job yet. Dealing with injuries, underperforming players, and even death . Many players had below average year. Congratulations to both teams

  4. Ohtani needs to lock in next year in the World Series. He was awful last year and he was bad this year except for Game 3.. but even in Game 3 he got thrown out at 2nd base like an idiot on the 9th inning which led to the dodgers having to go 18 innings. Gave up 3 runs in 2 and 1/3 in Game 7. Last 2 at bats in clutch situations were awful.. it’s proof of what I’ve been saying the last year. Ohtani joined the Dodgers, an already stacked team, for an easy path to World Series rings. Casuals hate me for saying this but Ohtani is just not clutch at all. Great player just a poor performer when it counts the most. Casuals are mad and replying below 👇🏻 😂😂

  5. 訳も凄いし、ストーリーで状況の流れを色々解説しているのも、良き実況です!!!

    大谷も凄かったし、ドジャースの選手もよくやった!!!
    山本由伸のMVP且つドジャースの優勝、おめでとうございます!!!

  6. Wanted the Jays to take it home, but as a Mariners fan, can’t lie that it’s a tad satisfying watching their season end in a similar fashion

  7. Even if you're not a fan of either team, if you don't believe this was the most exciting World Series ever, then you're not as big a baseball fan as you think you are.

  8. 1:50 Bo Bitchett acted like he just hit a walk off home run and the game was over . I was rooting for the Jays at the beginning of the series but they acted way too annoying and classless .Congrats Dodgers !!! 🎉

  9. I keep thinking back to the end of game 5 when Miguel Rojas was the last Dodger in the dugout. He was just staring out at Dodger stadium. Just taking it all in knowing he likely played his last game there in a Dodger uniform……not knowing at the time that he himself would salvage the title for LA.

  10. UNBELIEVABLE, JUST AMAZING…the Dodgers turn TWO DOUBLE PLAYS to win game 6 and 7 of the WS to go back to back. Very deserving so. Congrats…JOB'S DONE!!!
