NHL Highlights | Avalanche vs. Sharks – November 1, 2025
as he seeks to get the Colorado Avalanche back to the promised land again. They won the Stanley Cup in 2022 and they are built to win it this year. They are number one in the NHL tied in points right now with the Pittsburgh Penguins and a great hockey game between the Golden Knights and these Avalanche. Colorado won it 4-2 and they’re back to work here 24 hours later as Devonte beats Kale Mar. Now a shot by Marty Nus and in it goes and it’s one- nothing Colorado 30 seconds into the game. He is so good at this. But then Nas just reads off him. Turns and fires. You’ve got a screen in front. Let’s therein’s there again. The key is on this one right here. Not able to get it past Kale Mar. And then the puck’s going to go back to him as they continue to work. Look how quick they’re on the puck. Now watch him dance up top. Gives it. Gets it back. Nas sees him. He sees Nas turn fire. Islander forward who came over in a deadline deal trade last season and now he’s centering the second line here for Colorado and fitting in seamlessly. Askarov and their forwards pounce on pucks. Mar leading all defenseman in scoring before coming into the game. That’s now a sevengame point streak for Mar who already has 18 points early on in the year. the reigning Norris Trophy winner, Nathan McKinnon. Here’s Saliov with a shot from the point for Colorado. Fired back by Sam Malinsky from the other side as it’s stuffed deep into the zone by Zakar Bardikov. He scored his first NHL goal for Colorado two games ago against the Devils. Ascarov hugging the post. The captain of the Colorado Avalanche. His 14th year as their captain as he gets a shot on goal here. Landiskog and Ascarov able to handle that behind the play. Tim Ljigrren is shaken up. Little slow to get to the ice again. A one-time from the wing by Victor Ol. And here is Skinner with the puck now for the Sharks into the offensive zone. Poked away, but it’s kept alive by Kurishv. Bill Kurish. A shot kicked away by the goender. And a great chance for Skinner as Blackwood was down, but he couldn’t put it home. He doesn’t miss many of those from that spot. Jeff Skinner so good around the net. Unfortunately, couldn’t get everything he wanted. Skinner still with it. Here’s Turishv. Blackwood a save. Power plays over. Here’s Littleren and Deandria has it poked away, but then Giles comes in after it. It’ll trickle to Blackwood and he will cover on this unit as well. He’s had the hot hand of late. Nas that’s off of Lindberg and then Olivesson testing Ascarov who made the save. Good stop by Ascari. [Music] He felt it, but they’re looking obviously for that one time shot. Watch out for McKinnon as well as he gets down near the net. Got a couple of trap hits back. One which they used for Matt Piscy who we saw in preeason playing in the Western Hockey League. Big center iceman. Promising prospect. Celebrating. He scores. [Applause] [Music] [Applause] all the way back. It starts with a good pass out of the zone and it’s a real simple attack right from the zone [Music] straight up. Tires are full. He picks up with a beautiful catch and then is the release. That is about as textbook as it gets and Mlin celebrating. Oh, takes it in one strike. Spins trophy that goes to perseverance and dedication to the game and quite often does go to that player who’s recovered from that center ice. Giles got a piece. Manson brings it in. He’ll lay it off and it’s in the blue paint. Kapped off the goal line. So very close. A simple shot on net. Looks like it’s okay. He goes up over the glove under the glove over the pad and YaLab Ascarov reaches out. Now watch the referee. This is outstanding. Gets knocked down and as he gets up he’s saying no goal, no goal. Always always focused the referees making sure that was not called. Here’s Macar ahead for Lechinan at the blue line. Back come the Sharks. Here’s a chance for Kersh. He scores. [Music] [Applause] Philip Kurishv and the Sharks have their first lead. You said it the other day watching Philip Kurishv, the guy can put the puck in the net and this is a good job defensively first, right? Standing up at your own blue line. Tyandria there to help the deep. Gets it to Kurv. Takes off and gets it past McKenzie Blackwood. What a set of hands. Check this out. Over the shoulder into the net. The Sharks get the lead. But again, that’s defense setting up your offense. And the Sharks have taken the lead on a Philip Kurishv goal. Bad bounce off Tave stick. They clean it up. Now a twoon one down low. McKinnon in and the net knocked off by Jeff Skinner. They’re saying no goal. McKinnon is upset. Well, we’ve got some things to sort out here as Jeff Skinner is slow to get up after colliding with the net. He literally lost an edge coming back now. They’re just holding off. There’s no ch There’s not going for a TV timeout. Here’s what happens. Watch Skinner come back. He’s going to try to get away and then he knocks in falls into the the net. [Applause] Yeah, the net is way off obviously. So, they’re having after video review, the call in the ice is confirmed. The puck would have entered the net before the net got blown off. Therefore, we have a puck did not go in the net before the net. Struggling to get to the bench now. Yeah, look at Jeff. Great effort by Jeff Skinner. My goodness. Chance here for the A bar to come. Denied by Ascarov. Good comes out. Here’s the avalanche working and what a save by Yaros Vascarov. Look at that double push though. Good puck management getting out of your zone clean and then getting into the zone and playing a straightforward game. Forget the drop passes. Forget the little cutesy behind the backs. Pass intended for Nuskin from Brock Nelson. Deflected away. Now Molinsky and they put it off the goal post. Oh, less than two minutes. You got to be, as we talked about, better with puck management. That pass can’t get through. Looking for, he took some off that shot cuz he was looking for the deflection in front. Look out. Trouble now. And missing the net was Parker Kelly. And it was wide open. And Ascarov gets back. Gives the puck away and makes a diving poke check. Oops. Uh-oh. I’m going to fall down now. I’m going to slide out. There’s the poke check that causes the puck to go wide. Oh my goodness me. That is exciting. Back to Mlin again. And he’s tripped up by McKinnon. Paul. Wow. Wow. Here’s Kurishv. His shot off the crossbar. Tripped that the referees ignore it. As simple as that. Mlin’s got the puck as he gets that chance. gets it out of the zone. Nelson trying to play it back in. Here’s Ecklund and we are going to go to overtime and they just kept getting stronger as the game went on. Wenberg, Ecklund, and Olaf for the Sharks. McKinnon, Nelson, and Mar for Colorado. And the Sharks win the draw. Can they get the puck? They’ve got it. And they’ve got a twoon one. It’s Wenberg with Orlock. Alex Wenberg skates in. Orlock shoots. Saved by Blackwood. First chance. Twoon one. Good pass across. McKenzie Blackwood with the CS make a change too. Here’s Val Nushkin. McKinnon stays on with Mar. And now Macar heads off as Nushkin goes to the net hard and it’s saved by Ascarov. Save. The big man makes this save and Zachuskin realizes he’s going up against a forward so he drops shoulder drives towards the net. But look at that extension of the right leg by Yaros Nas gets it back from McKinnon but it’s out of his reach. No icing. Lindberg skating free of Nas. A hitman pass for K. Phil Kv scores. Philip Kurv an overtime winner since he played a heck of a game. Philip Kuresev, what a shot that was. That play was going to be an icing. Then it was waved off. Alex Benthird brings it up and then Kurishv snap and maybe that stick by Mar through off McKenzie Blackwood a little bit but what [Music]
Philipp Kurashev scored his second goal of the game in overtime to power the San Jose Sharks over the Colorado Avalanche 3-2.

Philipp Kurashev has been a great bright spot and he cost the sharks like nothing at all making it even more crazy. The Hawks just outright released him coming off an injury plagued season. He scored 54 points for them the year before when he was healthy. With 8 points in 10 games he is directly competing with the production of Granlund when he was a Shark. The best part is Kurashev is cheap and an RFA. It is not unthinkable that in Feb the Sharks could trade him for a first round pick. Grier of course has the option to give Kurashev a raise and give him the cap room he did not think Zetterlund was worth.
WORST. CALL. EVER!
Y'all were really Johnny-on-the-spot with this one…
Was this Blackwoods first return to San Jose? Did they do a tribute for him?
Askarov has a bit of Arturs Irbe in him. Everything is a roller coaster! Great game!
Yes!!! F Colorado.
Makar is ok, he doesnt command Nurse or Bouchard money, but pretty good.
7:10 a lowlight and a highlight
Акулы оживают… зубки наточили!
These announcers are terrible. They don't understand hockey and they pronounce player names wrong.
As fan here. Respect to SJ beating g the Devils and then the Avs. Your team has lots of potential when the young players develop.
DA BLUE JAYS LOOOOOOOOSE
Keep Blackwood on the bench!!!
Either Avs had mediocre night or sharks punched above this game, or.. sharks showed how intrinsically good they are this season
Asky like I know Halloween is over but lemme give you all one last jumpscare
PK is on fire
I like watching this hungry sharks team
Look like Montreal last year
Avalanche hit on ref😂
Avalanche need a player like the moose for McKinnon line😂
Celebrini is gonna have a great career. I really his technique and the way this kid plays the game. Hopefully he gets the opportunity to play for a winning team at some point but, everything takes time.
C'est bien la peine de battre VGK pour perdre à SJ ….
