REPORT: New York Jets LINKED To The Eagles Ahead Of The Trade Deadline | Eagles Looking For Edge
[Music] All right, guys. What’s going on? Welcome in. So, in this one, I wanted to talk about the link between the New York Jets and the Philadelphia Eagles in regards to this upcoming NFL trade deadline. Right. We’ve already, ironically enough, seen the Eagles and the Jets pull off a trade, Michael Carter, and a 2027 7th rounder going to Philly in exchange for wide receiver John Mchi and a 2027 sixthrounder. Uh, all cool. All cool there. Seems like the Eagles are not done adding pieces. Now, they’ve been linked to a bunch of different players from a bunch of different teams, right? Obviously, the Eagles are in complete win now mode. They need help, right? They need some more. Um, they actually just acquired Jier Alexander, right? So, they doubled down at the quarterback position, but yet there are still reports coming out. Uh, I believe the one that’s most recent is actually from Jeremy Fowler of ESPN reporting that the Eagles are looking for a pass rusher, right? So, more defensive help for Vic Fangio. There’s been two teams linked to the Eagles, the Jets and the Dolphins. Let’s talk about Miami first. So they obviously have a lot of players in the trade block. Bradley Chub being one of them, Jaylen Phillips being another. Both guys have direct ties to Fangio. Okay. Both guys fit exactly what he wants to do on the defensive side of the football and both guys would come in and uh be upgrades there, right? Obviously the loss of Josh Schwep to the Arizona Cardinals like it’s obvious, right? The Eagles need more firepower and Bradley Chub or Jaylen Phillips would come in and check, you know, those boxes, right? They are good good players. And obviously, you know, Fangio has a long long history with Bradley Chub. But in any case, you know, you look at both of those guys. Yes, they do make sense. I could easily see the Eagles making a trade, but here’s the deal. There are other teams that need a pass rusher, right? There are other teams in the NFL that really need help getting after the passer, right? some win now teams that have just struggled to do it. I mean, you look at a team like the Baltimore Ravens, you know, them that defense under Zack Ore like they need I mean, first of all, they need to figure out how to stop the run, but you know, getting after the passer has been somewhat of a question mark this season. Uh they traded away OA, right? I mean, you look at a team like the Detroit Lions. Do they really have have they even had a consistent edge rusher opposite of Hutchinson? Yes, of course. Hutchinson is fantastic. He’s amazing. He’s elite. just signed that big money deal, which is uh you know, my my uh my buddy Kyle’s a huge huge Lions fan. He was pumped, but you know, he’s he’s been saying the same thing for years. Where is the other pass rusher next to Hutchinson? We don’t have one. So, could this be the year where the Lions finally pounce at the deadline saying, you know what, we’re going to make that big time swing? There’s, you know, there there’s going to be other biders here. Um there’s also reports that the Buffalo Bills are looking for help both on on the uh the offensive side and the defensive side. There’s teams are going to be calling. So again, we’ll see what happens there. But to be fair, Jaylen Phillips, Bradley Chub, they do make sense for the Eagles. Here’s where the Jets come into play. According to reporters, the two names that continue to pop up, the two names that teams continue to call about, Germaine Johnson, Will McDonald. Now, we’ve heard that Germaine Johnson is looking like he’s going to be staying. Um, you know, we’ve had the the Wolf of Wall Street tweet from Germaine. He’s obviously is under contract for this season and next season. So, his rookie deal. Um, it I think it was Connor Hughes that reported that he’s probably not going to be going anywhere. So, I’m all for that. I would actually start negotiating a contract extension with Germaine. I I think he’s a really good player, really good edge setter, really good run stuffer at the DN position. Can play in a 34, 43 vocal leader, and we’re also really thin. So, I don’t I don’t want to get rid of these edge rushers. I I don’t. They’re all young. But even though I want to keep these players, I don’t want Dar Muji to hang up the phone if he gets a call from whoever Detroit Philly saying, “Hey, we have a trade proposal for one of your pass rushers.” I want Mushi to at least listen to the offers that are coming in. Uh but again, going back to Philly, will McDonald Germaine Johnson? Would either player come in and benefit that defense? I think the answer is yes for both players and why they’re linked to the Jets constantly because Joe Douglas Joe Douglas is now back with the Philadelphia Eagles. The Jets hired him from Philly. Now he’s back in Philly. And there has been a couple some some trade deadline buzz that Joe Douglas could look to go out and acquire or you know could try to push Philadelphia’s hands because it’s not like he’s making the you know decisions. It’s still you know how Roseman obviously he could be a major influencing piece in acquiring some players that uh you know obviously he picked in the first round. Two guys that he thinks very very highly of in Germaine and Will. So, who knows what to believe at this point. I think common sense would tell you. And this is just assuming that we’re not blown away with some sort of Jamal Adams sort of package here. If I had to take a guess, I think McDonald stays. I think Germaine Johnson stays. I think Quinnon Williams stays. Again, assuming we don’t get a like a humongous package. I think Bree Hall stays at this point. But I do think Quincy Williams does get moved. There has just been no urgency, at least from the outside, that the Jets are trying to resign Quincy Williams. You know, this was a talking point back in the summer. Could the Jets resign him? Uh did they want to, you know, have a couple games in the system to really try to figure things out? Or was this, hey, he’s a good player, but he’s just going to play out his expiring deal. We obviously have uh Francisco Mino who’s coming onto the scene improving I want to say week by week which is a really really good sign. But I mean you look at the amount of teams that need help at linebacker man. The Bucks, the Falcons, the 49ers. The Falcons and the 49ers. Well, I guess we can throw the Bucks in into the mix as well. Three teams that are led by Jets uh you know former coaches here, but obviously Salah um Jeff the the major connections to Quincy. But I I I do feel like, you know, he would make sense in all three of those spots. Um I also think that uh Pete Carol and the Raiders could make some sense for Quincy Williams. I don’t know if they want to be trading draft picks given their record, but I still look at that as like a defensive systematic fit over there. I don’t know. I I just don’t I I don’t want to see Quincy go. But it’s the same logic with Bree, right? If the Jets don’t like they know internally they’re not resigning him, then you got to trade him and get and get at least something for him as opposed to just doing nothing, letting the season play out as a one and seven team right now in the middle of the by-week and let the season just, you know, expire and then Quincy’s on another team playing really well and, you know, the Jets get nothing in return outside of like a future comp pick maybe. So, you know, and that’s not even like a sure thing for me. I just feel like the Dolphins pass rushers are a little bit more likely to go, right? They they just fired uh Chris Greer. You know, I just feel like there’s no point in hanging on to some of these guys if you’re the Miami Dolphins. Whereas, the Jets were thin at pass rusher. These guys are young. These guys are controllable. They’re under contract for, you know, in Germaine’s case, the next season and a half. In Will McDonald’s case, the next two and a half seasons. I just don’t see the rush. I don’t see the need again unless we get some we love Germaine Johnson. Here’s this amazing package. We love Will McDonald. Here’s some amazing package. You know, at that point, you got to listen. But um I just don’t really see it happening. Who knows? Maybe I’m dead wrong here. Maybe I’m dead wrong. But anyway, let me know your thoughts down below in the comments section. And thanks so much for watching and as always, go chats. [Music]

Oh no! How will we ever have a bottom 5 defense and go 1-7 without these elite players lmao. Glenn is going to sell us on another "rebuilding year" in 2026 and yall don't wanna trade anyone is hilarious
Quincy is a likely move. Jets won't pay him and they really underpaid him. And will Quincy want to come back when they made no effort to extend him? He has to be pissed they extended Sherwood who has been bad. If jets could trade Sherwood that might make sense and extend Quincy.
My thought? The media with the Jets has worked under a virtual blackout. So either they are passing rumours spread by other writers, or they are being fed deliberate mis info by the Jets.
Think about it, with the draft and with free agency we didn't have a clue what they were planning, and the rumors were all trash.
I wish we weren't stuck with Sherwood's contract. I would rather trade him instead of Williams.
I do not want Q to go. This reminds me of the Demario Davis. He is still playing and is a leader. We need to keep our defensive leader. Wil McDonald’s still has to prove himself. 🏈💭🤔😀✌️
I like almost everything DM has done so far.
I don't see us as being a fit to trade a pass rusher to them. The Dolphins make much more sense. For the Jets to trade either MacDonald or Johnson would be counter productive. If they're trying to build a young nucleus why trade young players with upside?
Keep everyone except Micheal Clemons. I will take a 2089 7th round pick
I don’t care if Quincy goes and if Jermaine goes I’ll be ok.
Can we get 12 in the building
I think Quincy or Jamien could move. Everyone else stays unless we get multiple 1st’s. Kiko played well in place of Quincy and then started the game and played a half over Sherwood. Look to see one of them move before the deadline and the other let go at the end of the season.
I second you here Ian with your ideas
The HC is a complete pile of dog 💩. This team was a HC away from improvement and we got the worst HC in the NFL. Admit that mistake and move forward. Don’t let this be a compounding mistake. New England got their hire right and look at them. AG is dog 💩. Move along.
I wouldn'.nT get rid of quincy or any of our big name players just build around them and get great
Missing bryce huff.
Are the eagles smoking crack pipe?? They ain’t getting shit from us on our D-line
Give them Michael clemons
Why are Jets fans so comfortable with the idea of trading Quincy?
Lmfaoooo
I’m sick of the talk of trading our good players, make it work. We shouldn’t even be adding players. The players that should be sent packing are the screw ups like Lazzard and Clemons, Why are they still on the team while our good players are shown the door. That’s why we are 1-7, We need good players
I could see Quinnen getting traded to SF or Baltimore
Keep JJ he is a building block and really good player. Get rid of McDonald. He is nothing. Sorry to say. He sucks.
