Fire Zac Taylor, Defense Still Sucks + Bengals Trade Rumors | Bengals vs. Bears Instant Reaction

[Music] Well, I pretty much called it on our week nine preview video this week. I did not get the score right, but the feeling around this game. Pretty much nailed that one right on the head there. I said the Bengals were going to score a lot of points, but at the end of the day, probably going to get your heart ripped out. I think my score prediction for this game was 3532. Bears ended up being 4247. Uh had opportunities to win this game. You scored what 15 points and like 49 seconds or something like that with like a minute 35 left to go on the clock. And uh you know you had a opening kickoff return for a touchdown from Charlie Jones. You were able to get the onside kick late in this game. But like we’ll touch on on our instant reaction slashtrade rumors video today. Um this this Bengals team just continues to just shoot theirelves in the foot. So um you know we’re going to be live on Tuesday by the way for this year’s NFL trade deadline on November 4th. Probably go live about 1:00. We’ll be live through that trade deadline at 400 p.m. Eastern time. Uh, so make sure you guys come join us for that. We’ll be uh probably sitting around shooting the watching the Bengals do nothing. But we’ll see what happens here. Make sure you guys are subscribed. We’re live for every single Bengals game. The good, the bad, the ugly, win, loss, or draw. We will be live and we’ll have videos for you guys all season and offseason long. So join the community. And look, we all may be mad, but at least we’ll be mad together. So hit that sub button and join us here on Bengals Breakdown. All right, before we get into some takeaways here, just want to touch on the injury here to Sama Per Ryan. Uh looked like he turned his ankle, kind of got his ankle landed on on one of those kickoff returns in that second quarter. He got off the field and was able to run off the field, you know, under his own weight. I thought he was, you know, at the time I thought he was fine, but uh you know, listed as doubtful after that and then listed as out around halftime there. So, uh, you know, the Bengals weren’t able to really run the ball at all in this game. Early on, it, you know, seemed like you were actually doing a decent job running the football there. Chase Brown at 37 yards on 11 carries today, but, you know, all in all, only 46 yards on the ground for this Cincinnati offense. And I do think a lot of it has to do with one the fact that you were playing from behind. Um, you know, a lot in this game. and Samaj perin also ended up going out with that injury in the second quarter. Um, you know, we’ll keep you guys updated on that as well about, you know, how severe that injury might end up being. All right, I’ve only got a couple takeaways from this game and I’ve only got a couple takeaways because it’s the same takeaways week after week after week. This uh Bengals defense just blows it. It is so bad. You gave up almost 600 yards this week. uh back-to-back games where you know the Bengals end up giving up 500 yards of total offense. The Bears today ran it down your throat yet again. 283 rushing yards for this Bears team. Uh you know, Caleb Williams wasn’t great. He wasn’t awful either. Um you know, he had 280 uh you know, total passing yards today, three touchdowns. Uh you know, your pass rush really wasn’t there. Again, they absolutely killed you on the time of possession. And you can see right there, look, the Bengals offense was kind of cooking today. Uh, you know, but the defense was uh they were also cooking. We mentioned this during the live stream. Bengals defense was cooking today, but they were still out in the parking lot tailgating. They were they were hitting up Omaha Stakes. They went and got that great bundle, $35 off just by using promo code Bengals at checkout. Um, you know, they they just did not show up yet again today. And it’s the same thing week after week after week. You talk about Al Golden. Uh but you know at the end of the day it it comes down to the head coach. you know, you can have your your stupid ass, you know, defensive only meetings all you want, but we said this week that nothing mattered until it really translated on the field and it didn’t. Yet again, uh, you know, you get the ball back or, you know, you get the ball back, you score to go up, you know, late in this game and then, you know, the the Bears with one timeout, they have to go pretty much the length of the field and they do it in like three plays. Uh you had a missed tackle by Jordan Battle on that play as well. Going for the hit instead of the tackle. Uh you know considering their kicker today missed two field goals. One obviously was overturned because you were off sides and they end up going down the field and scoring a touchdown on that drive. Uh and then he missed another one. Just a really really brutal kick. Yeah, you put yourselves in an opportunity to win this game. But just the fact that you continue to miss tackles just continue to, you know, screw you again in this game. And it really sucks because the offense did cook again today. Uh, you know, you talk about the the turnovers as well from Joe Flacco. You know, he wasn’t great today. Uh, you know, did have 470 total passing yards, four touchdowns, two interceptions, and did also have that one fumble. Th those turnovers did not help you today, but T. Higgins just goes off yet again today. has an insane touchdown grab again. Seven catches for 121 yards. Jamar Chase not short of, you know, you know, being great again today. Six receptions, 111 yards for him. Uh this big defense just continues to hold you back and um it just, you know, constantly week after week after week. Doesn’t really matter how many points you score, your defense is just going to end up blowing it for you at the end of the day. So, what’s your one-word reaction to this Bengals defense? You can be as creative as possible. I’m going to go the less creative route. I’m just going to call them because that’s what they are at the end of the day. So, you can be creative. Let me know your one-word reaction to this Bengals defense. Takeaway number two, I’m not going to get too crazy here. Um, you know, fire Zack Taylor. It has to happen. You know, you fired Lu Anumo last year. um because something had to be done. I know a lot of people wanted Zack Taylor fired uh last year as well. I totally don’t blame you on that, but they don’t end up firing Zack Taylor. So, something has to be done. You fire Lanorumo. Um and obviously, he was not the problem. Um it starts at leadership, man, and you just continue to hurt yourself in the critical moments. And this week was just another example of that. So, um you know, like I said, I don’t have a bunch of takeaways for today’s show. Fire Zack Taylor is going to be my second one because it it has to happen. It has to happen. I don’t see it happening though. That’s the thing that really sucks. I I don’t see it happening at all. Um you know, you went through, you know, year after year. I think it was 16 total years of, you know, a lot of mediocre football with Marvin Lewis. And I think it’s just going to be the same thing here with Zack Taylor. He’s got one more year left on his deal. Um, and I just don’t see anything happening um, until maybe that deal just ends up running out there. So, uh, you know, maybe maybe it does happen. You know, maybe the Brown family decides that they actually give a for once, but I don’t see that happening either. So, my second takeaway today, something that all of you guys have talked about here on the show, including myself, you got to fire Zack Taylor. You got to go out there and just get somebody else in here because right now, what Zack Taylor’s doing is just flat out not working. All right, we’ll come back to some trade rumors here in just a second, but first, today’s show is brought to you by Omaha Stakes, and they’re the official sponsor of Tailgating. I got to assume that they went to omahastakess.com and use promo code Bengals to get $35 off um you know to uh you know, cook up some some solid steaks, you know, whether it’s T-bones, whether it’s chicken, uh filet man, filet minan, you name it, Omaha Steaks has got it. We appreciate Omaha Stakes for being the sponsor of today’s show. All right, so Adam Shfter tweeted this out earlier this morning around 6 a.m. Eastern time, saying the Bengals have told teams that they do not intend to trade Trey Hendrickson, but if the Bengals lose today, which they ended up doing, to the Bears and drop to three and six, there are some sources who have wondered if that might be enough to change Cincinnati’s stance. Um, you know, I know you guys don’t want to trade Trey Hendrickson. He’s he’s the best player on your team or on your defense. Anyways, I don’t want to trade Trey Hendrickson. Uh a lot of people have, you know, said in the comments that I’m stupid for wanting to trade Trey Hendrickson. I don’t want to trade him. But whether he’s in there or whether he’s not, your defense still sucks ass. And this Bengals team is not going to make the playoffs this year. Just it’s just not going to happen. Um and you got to do something. Do you want to set yourself up for the future or do you not want to set yourself up for the future? I think it really does just come down to that. Um, you’re not going to get a first round pick for Trey Hendrickson, so don’t ask for that. Uh, you’ll be lucky at this point if you get a second round pick for him, you know, considering the fact that, you know, he’s been really banged up the past couple of weeks. Um, so I I would not expect a first round pick, but at the end of the day, I don’t even know if I expect the Bengals to make any moves. Um, you know, you also have, um, you know, McKinley Jackson out here requesting a trade. Okay, dude. What do you think you’re going to get? A seventh round pick at the very most. Uh, total bust um for for this Bengals team. And is just another top 100 pick that continues to be bust after bust after bust under this Zack Taylor regime. And, you know, a lot of it, you know, you could blame Zack Taylor for sure. He’s the head coach. He’s the one really in charge. Duke Tobin as well. Uh, you know, you could fire him, too. That could go up there. Um, in that second reaction there, you got to fire Zack Taylor. You got to fire Zuk Tobin as well because I do not want to go through this. You know, fire your head coach. Uh, you know, they they make a pick that, you know, the the next head coach doesn’t want and then you fire your GM and it it just gets all sorts of twisted. It’s it’s the same thing that you’ve seen the Titans go through the past couple of years now. Um, you know, I think you could trade Logan Wilson at this point. Get what you can get for Logan Wilson. just stockpile on those draft picks. You know, maybe you hit on them, maybe you don’t, but right now you only have seven draft picks. Um, you don’t have a fifth round pick because you did a fifth, sixth round swap for Joe Flacco. And, you know, it was great while it lasted and Joe Flacco is still going out there and, you know, scoring a lot of points for this Bengals team. So, uh, you know, that one I I guess you could say worked out. Had his, you know, as crazy as it sounds, his worst game today uh, with three total turnovers, two interceptions in that fumble. But still, you put up 42 points and you lose the game today. I I just do not see any world where this Bengals team ends up making the playoffs. So, as much as you guys probably don’t want to trade Trey Hendrickson, I’m totally with you. I don’t want to trade Trey Hendrickson. I think it’s just the smart business decision at the end of the day. Get the rest of his contract off your books. you don’t have to worry about whether or not you’re going to tag or trade him or tag and trade him, you know, next off seasonason because all you ended up doing was giving him a raise you didn’t uh, you know, extend him. Uh, let it let him go compete for a championship. Trade him to the Lions for a second round pick if you can get that. Um, but you know, whether it’s, you know, Logan Wilson, CTB, uh, McKinley Jackson, Germaine Burton, I I don’t know what you’re going to get for those guys either, if anything. Um, but you know, I I think you’re to the point now where uh you could chalk up this season to an L and trade who you can for draft picks. So, do the Bengals make any trades before the NFL trade deadline? Type Y for yes or N for no. Um, like I said, we will be live on Tuesday for the NFL trade deadline as well. So, make sure you guys join us for that. But let me know you think the Bengals make any trades whether that’s buying selling. Uh both of those count as yeses or in for no. The Bengals just do nothing. They don’t set themselves up uh you know better at least in the future. Um and they just stay packed and you know cross their fingers and hope that this Bengals defense actually shows up one of these days. A man just to round out the show. This is just, you know, when Andre Yoshivas caught the touchdown at the end of the game there to put the Bengals up one. Um, I didn’t get excited because I just knew there was a very, very high probability that this Bengals defense was going to choke and, you know, I thought they were going to set the Bears up in field goal position. I thought that’s what was going to happen. Uh, but no, no, even worse than that, Jordan Battle, you know, misses a tackle. Yeah, I don’t know how many missed tackles you had today. A lot. Again, I think we were tracking it for a while and then it just got to the point where it was like three, four missed tackles. Caleb Williams scrambling around. Um, it just o overall just terrible performance. You know, um, special teams actually played okay today. You had, uh, the, you know, 99 98 yard touchdown return at the beginning of the game from Charlie Jones. Uh and then you were able to recover the um onside kick at the end of the game. You know, you did have McFersonson miss that uh 54 yard field goal. I I thought he has the leg for 54 yards. I guess not. It was about four yards short on that. Uh but just man, just I I knew it when this week, you know, started dur during our pre or during our preview video. I said this just feels like a game where the Bengals were just going to rip my heart out at the end of the game. And that’s exactly what ended up happening here. So, um, yeah, Bengals drop another one, 42 to 47. And just another another abysmal performance by this Cincinnati defense. You give up, uh, what is it? 576 total yards today. Yeah, 576 total yards today. Uh, the Bears rushed for another 283. We’ll see what happens. You also got out time of possession by about 9 minutes in this game, too. uh you lose the turnover battle as well. So, a lot of bad things happened to the Cincinnati Bengals today and it just makes it so so hard to turn into or to tune in to these games every single Sunday. But, we’re going to be live for every single game. We’re going to continue to be live for our Bengals watch party. So, make sure you guys are subscribed. Make sure you join us Tuesday as well. We’ll hang out and we’ll probably watch the Bengals do nothing at the NFL trade deadline. Make sure you guys hit that sub button. Stay up tod date on all things Bengals news. [Music]

  1. Stop saying firing Zac Taylor, they’re ain’t firing his ass shut up about it. This isn’t on the head coach, it’s on the defense who can’t play shit. Smh 🤦🏻‍♂️

  2. Tbh I don’t think they should fire Zac defense is just flat out shitty battle fucking sucks and we have no pass rush our corners are decent it’s the line backers and safety’s and no pass rush that is killing it

  3. Bears blew the game before the bengals returned the favor. I'm a Bears fan, but that was tough to watch. Even when we suck , the defense usually is somewhat decent. But broooo.. if it were possible for both teams to lose, it would've happened today

  4. Playing for draft picks at this point. They won't run the ball. They start out like hey, we're going to run the ball, but as the game wears on, it's clear. They NEVER have control of the game. They ALWAYS leave it up for grabs. 15 run attempts this game which is about all they ever run it. 23 attempts is the most they ever run it. Iosivas did get off the hot seat a little. Missed tackles. one word reaction? BAD RECIPE. Not enough defense, not enough run attempts, not enough forced turnovers, etc.

  5. Taylor won’t get fired, the offense is one of the most feared in the NFL! As for Golden , he can’t tackle from the sidelines! It’s the talent that he’s stuck with that is not NFL caliber! The corners are decent, with Trey the d-line is adequate. We have very, very poor linebacker and safety play! They could have fixed that, but I’m sure Mike and Katie said you got Jamar and Tee and Trey and that’s all you get!! Poor Golden. As my nephew always, says It is what it is.

  6. Honestly, don't fire Zac Taylor. This is the guy that was able to make Joe Flacco look amazing! 470 yards?! A career-high for him and 4 touchdowns on top of that. If there's anyone that should be in the hot seat, it should be Al Golden and the GM Duke Tobin! You think picking Shemar Stewart and Demetrius Knight Jr. was going to do anything. Instead, it just made the Bengals defense completely invisible. Like what's a defense to this team? It REEEAAAALLLY sucks beings a Bengals fan cause this team has a great offense…just NO DEFENSE! And honestly Zac is the LEAST of their problems. Let's turn our attention to Golden and Tobin instead

  7. Today was the defense, other day is the OL, kicker, play-calling or even Burrow’s fault for not releasing the ball. The draft picks amount for nothing…. This team has been mediocre – the SB run saved Zac’s career but has ruined this team that keeps regressing every year. Trade Burrow, Chase and Tee – they all deserve better. We are stacked with Zac Taylor and this organization keeps doing the same thing expecting a different outcome….
