NBA LIVE! Los Angeles Lakers vs Miami Heat |November 2, 2025 | Lakers vs Heat LIVE (2K26)

struggle and as I got older I started great story Ally thanks all right now let’s check out the starters for the Miami Heat Davon Mitchell is out there with Tyler Herro then it’s Norman Powell then it’s Bam Anabio and for the Lakers DeAndre Aiden is out there with LeBron James then it’s Luca Donuch then it’s Ru Aimura and it’s Reeves in at the two a rare interconference showdown here this is a great rivalry, Richard. We don’t get to see it too often. Well, this is a special regular season game because of the rarity of it. We don’t get to see these types of matchups too often, and I kind of like it that way. Here’s Yoic. High arcing shot rebounded by LeBron from 13. Pass to Aimura. That’s all you. Oh, they get a hand on it. Over to the left wing. Six to shoot. Pulls it. Denied by Adabio. What a menacing swap by Bam. Letting them know there are no easy shots when he’s around. Now Mitchell. Here’s Yoic. [Applause] and he was fouled while in the act of shooting. So, he’ll take two free throws. It’s on LeBron James. [Applause] Two, two. That one’s off. And Graham, no team better than Miami at developing undrafted prospects. I mean, for key roles, too. You look at last year’s playoffs, Strus, Martin, Vincent, Robinson. It’s allowed Miami to stay on top in a salary cap driven league. [Applause] and he sinks the second. And just one of the most impressive titles in league history, guys. The 2020 Lakers winning it all in the Orlando bubble. A testament to LeBron James and that team. Reeves. It’s good. And he drew contact on the shot. So, he will go to the line. A three-point play opportunity. You know, that 2020 bubble title for the Lakers, what made it so difficult? You know, BA, the mental grind of all that time in the bubble, 3 months in the same place. NBA players are used to being in four cities in a week. So, it really was a different kind of challenge for them. [Applause] Now guys, when you think about this Miami Heat team, you hear a lot of talk about their ability to score, but how about the way they play on both ends of the floor? Now here’s Powell. Here’s Anabio James with the rebound. That is not a bad decision to pull it from there. It was just a little bit off with the execution. Aimura, the pass to James. And it’s James with the jam. Oh my god. LeBron James with that that power. Do you just feel the rim shake? Defensively, this Heat team was top three and points allowed per game and top five in defensive efficiency last year. You know, BA, that’s something that surely isn’t talked about enough. And when they’re not having their best shooting night, they’ll suffocate you on the defensive end. And it’s Donic missing. And you don’t see that every day. Usually he’ll convert when he gets that close to the rim for Los Angeles. They’ve gone just two for four from the floor with Mark. Denied by Adabio and he recovers it. The Heat have gone one of four to begin this one. Outside Mitchell pass to Pal the three. That one is off and the Lakers will go the other way with it. Ai Murph range and Hero grabs the board. Miami trailing. Now here’s Mitchell guarded by Donic. Mitchell the pass to Hero. Here’s Adabio. Counted. Out. Time out. Adabio’s got his second basket of the game. And once Bam gets the ball inside, the bucket is almost guaranteed. He’s a serious producer in the paint. Time called here. Los Angeles decides to talk it over. Well, an all-star appearance for Bam Adabio in 2020. Grant, you think he can get back there? No doubt. I mean, I think the bigger issue is we’ve seen his numbers taper off just in the postseason. Can he reverse that and bring his best when it matters most? [Applause] Heat. Heat. [Applause] The Lakers have gone just three for seven here at the start. Pass to Reeves. Now here’s Hachimura. [Applause] Donic outside. Fires the three. Pure from three-point range. Donic has got five. And that’s something that Donuch wants to keep improving. Good to see him firing away from distance. Pass to Adabio. [Applause] Step out. Back to Mitchell. Five on the clock. And right away they match it with a three-pointer of their own. And that’s how you up the ante. Come right back at him. Yeah, I love the competitive fire right there. You drain a triple on us and I’m coming for my revenge. Here’s Reeves. Lays it up and banks it in. He’s got five. Starting to find his rhythm. He’s cooking and he knows it. Yeah, when he gets engaged this early in the game, it’s bad news for the defense. He can roll this start throughout the rest of the game. Fantastic replay we just saw of the mobile one drive. The aggressive take there to get inside. They’re looking to make things happen to try and take control of this game. I like that. I mean, some physical play inside. He’s not about to give up any easy baskets. If you look at the history of the Lakers, they’ve always had elite big men. That tradition goes all the way back to George Mike in the 40s. Then they had Will Chamberlain, Kareem, and then obviously we know what Shaq was able to do there. [Applause] And that one falls for hero, the Los Angeles Lakers, home to some of the greatest bigs of all time. Richard. Yeah. Wilt, Kareem, Shaq, Pal Gasol. The lake show winning titles with those large dudes proving that size does matter in this league. [Applause] and he makes both free throws. It’s not luck that he’s so steady at the line. It’s through repetition and hard work. Pass to Reeves. [Applause] Hachimura against Pal [Applause] from 8 ft. That one off the back iron it and out. The Heat have gone just three for seven here at the start. Here’s Yovic. He nails it and we’re tied. It’s very difficult to slow him down defensively, especially when you have communication problems. [Applause] Donic on the wing. Check by Mitchell. The three from Aton. Oh yes. Throw it down. The fact that LeBron James can still do that at 100 years old. Like it’s a travesty that he never participated in the dunk contest. And another look at the mobile one drive as he put it into overdrive. Yeah, no doubt about it. He’s been a force of nature and that drive just another of his great plays this game. Now here’s Mitchell. Pass to Hero. And there’s just one foul now away from the penalty. [Applause] And it’s time to take another look at that powerful block. What a powerful rejection. He’s not one of them to get an advantage in this competitive game. [Applause] Aimura against Pal. And here’s Hero. [Applause] Pass to Anabio outside Mitchell. [Applause] to the inside. And that one’s good. Yovic, he’s got five. Just owning the painted area. If it’s working, no need to change. Time called here. Los Angeles decides to talk it over. The first thing I think of when watching DaVon Mitchell is defense. Mitchell entered the league as one of the best on the ball defenders out there. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. The Lakers have got half their attempts to go. Six of 12. Aimura outside. Pass to James. Ooh, he’s looking comfortable now. Three for three. Just a master of the mid-range. Look, LeBron James. He knows how to get to his spots and knock down the shots. And that one’s good. Yovic. And they keep trading punches. Both teams in a groove early. You have to think at At this point, the winner will be the one to settle in on defense. Now, here’s Aimura. Well, he hasn’t scored yet, but I’m sure that’ll change. Kicks it to Donic. Shot clock at six. And he’s going to the line for two. The official saw contact while he was going up. And we’ve heard LeBron James say he’s obsessed with win or bust. And this Lakers franchise certainly has that same approach. But aside from their 2020 title, there’s been a lot of frustration. Now, can he and the Lakers get back where they expect to be? [Applause] Oh, take a break. Take a break. Two shots. The first one falls. The Heat making a switch here. Wiggins has checked in. [Applause] [Music] [Applause] Second free throw. No good. Miami trailing. Pal for three. And Aiden pulls it down. And he probably thought he was going to bury that one. Here’s ABC. Boy, he’s been patient so far. Nothing yet on the scoreboard. It’s going to be on LeBron James. That’ll be a second foul of the game. And the Lakers with some changes. Hayes is checked in for DeAndre Aiden. And Smart subbed in for James. [Applause] Pass to Mitchell. Back to Hero. Smart with the defensive effort for Los Angeles. They’ve gone eight for 14 from the floor. [Applause] To the paint. Here’s Aim Mura. And it’s slammed in by Aim Muran. Nice one-handed jam. Simple and effective. Ba. Hey, with the lead. I’m surprised he didn’t come up with something a little more creative. Wiggins from long range. That one doesn’t drop. And Los Angeles the other way now. Here’s Donic. Banked it in off the glass and it’s a seven-point Los Angeles lead. You can really feel the momentum swinging in their direction. Yeah, but they can’t relax. They’ve got to keep building on this lead because it is not safe. And finished off by Adabio. The aggressiveness of Adabio. He plays with so much energy and force close to the bucket. Smart outside. Stolen by Hero over Ashimura. Hero no good here. The Lakers with the ball leading by five. Smart with a bucket. That’s why you keep your head up. If the assist is there, you can pounce. They’ve been having major problems offensively. Definitely in a bit of a dry spell. Down low. Here’s Mitchell. Lays it up and in off the pretty assist. Mitchell’s got five now. They’re punishing those late defensive rotations. Getting good looks inside throughout the half. Pass to ABC. And here’s Hayes. Counted by Adabio. Hayes. The pass to Donic. It’s tipped. Stolen by Hero and he was fouled in the act of shooting. Opportunity for a three-point play here. That’s a guy you want taking shots. A quality offensive player. Let’s get a quick check of the score. Scoring breakdown here for the Lakers. The Lakers making a switch here. Vanderbilt’s checked in. [Applause] The Lakers in the lead. Donic passes to Smart. Pass to ABC. Pulls up. No good that time. And the Heat going the other way now. Here’s Wiggins. Back to Mitchell. Now Hero defended by Smart. The kick out to Wiggins. [Applause] Just five on the clock from about 16. Rebound by the Lakers. Not that time, but that’s a shot that he’s going to make more often times than not. And they doubled up. Donic. Kicks it out to Smart. And they call an illegal screen here. You can get away with one once in a while, but it looked like he wasn’t completely set on that pick. You got to blow the whisk to it when it’s that obvious. Great call there by the official. Heat shooting a solid 50% in the opening quarter. Here’s Mitchell. Miami. No good that time either. Smart against Hero. Smart outside. And here’s Vanderbilt from the ark. The shot that time not on target. Now the Heat take it the other way. [Applause] Vanderville against Hero. Wiggins outside. [Applause] Pass to ABC. Another shot. Wiggins. No good. And the Lakers shooting a terrific 58%. 10th to start the game. Excellent numbers. Oh, and there’s the whistle on the shot. So, two free throws for him coming up. Marcus Smart is one of the toughest players in this league mentally and physically. So willing to sacrifice himself on a play on both ends. [Applause] Shooting two. [Music] [Applause] and he drops a first. Smart’s toughness does really stand out on defense though, Richard. Yeah, because he gets right up in your jersey. Even though it can put him in harm’s way, if he thinks he can trip you up at all, he’ll put his body on the line. And he makes the first but misses the second. There’s a minute 12 left in the first quarter. Wiggins against Smart. Takes a 13-footer. So it’ll be two free throws. He was fouled in the act of shooting. They’ll pin that one on Marcus Smart. And I think Andrew Wiggins is a great example of how positions have changed. Came into the league playing a lot of the two. Now we see him at times playing a bunch at the four. The first free throw is good. And for Wiggins, he’ll play the stretch four at times. Grant, he’s extremely versatile. NBA and BA that shows just how the game has evolved. Wiggins is a traditional small forward, but we’ve seen that push to small ball shifting Andrew to the four and even the five during stretches. Both good from the line that time. Yeah, the first overall pick in 2014. Andrew Wiggins has carved out a nice career as a scoring wing. Back to Donic. [Applause] When you look at the intangibles of Luca Donuch, he has some of the best court awareness in the league, and that shows up most with his passing and body control. [Applause] Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. [Applause] That’s good from Donuch. And when we talk about franchise players, guys who can carry a team, Luca Donuch is one of the few guys in that category. And the Heat making a change here. Rosier’s checked in. [Applause] Donic hits them both. Miami trailing [Applause] now. Hi hero. He’s got five. Pass to Rosier over Donic. Miami. No good that time either. The Lakers shooting a terrific 58% to start the game. Excellent numbers. Yeah, just pure shooting talent really sets Dantic apart. He’s got touch, accuracy, and supreme confidence. Now here’s Rosier. 5second differential between the shot clock and game clock. Here’s ABC. Donic pulls down the board. Donic has got four rebounds in the game and the layup is good off the glass. Donic has got 13. And so it’s the Los Angeles Lakers closing out the quarter with a seven-point lead. Great shot selection right now. Keeping the game simple and getting high percentage looks and more NBA action on 2K Sports coming your way right after this. [Applause] And for those of you just tuning in, second quarter action is where we are, guys. What stands out to you from the Lakers in this one? Well, their offense is clicking so far, capturing the momentum here early on. Credit the game plan coming in. They’ve identified some weaknesses and they are exploiting them. So, it’s the Lakers now. Seven-point game. Biggest lead so far on the court for Miami here in the second. James outside. The shot is good. Donic making the play. Nine points in the game. And that’s the importance of the three-point shot for LeBron. He understands that by keeping just kind of like a rounded balance attack, it makes the defense have to respect his range. Gives us a chance to catch up with Alli Leforce. Thanks a lot, Brian. Well, Luca Donic, an all-star from a second season, and every year he’s one of the favorites for MVP. But Luca says, quote, “I still haven’t won anything, so I’ve got a long way to go.” Brian, if you didn’t catch it, team success is the metric. He says, “The key is to win a championship.” Well, he certainly gives him a chance to do just that. Ally, thank you. Here’s Aimura. Attabayio grabs the board. Rebounds now. Pass to Hakez. Roier with it. Here’s Hakez. Takes a three. Nice start for him. Sinking his first shot. Wet vision from Roier there. Seeing his teammate was wide open and making the right pass. Oier against Donic inside. Here’s Aimura. It falls. He’s now two of five from the field. Want to score in the NBA? Picks can really force the D to make tough choices. Here’s Powell and Aiden pulls it down. The Lakers have got two of three shots to go in the second. Out to James. It’s wide right. Hits off the rim. And for the Heat, they’re shooting the ball at around 42% for the game. Powell passes to Adabio. [Applause] Back to Powell. Clock at six. Can’t hit that one. Oh, great D that time from D. Donic. The Lakers in the lead. Pass to James. Donic outside to the middle. Here’s James. Parked it down low that time. Got hit with the 3se secondond call. Well, Richard, as a former player yourself, what’s your take on Stars demanding trades and jumping around the league so much? It’s tough because I’ve seen the other thing happen to Stars. Blake Griffin resigns with the Clippers. They show him videos of putting his jersey in the rafters and then he’s traded a year later. So, I think everybody has to figure out what is best for them, but you also have to try as an individual and as a professional to fulfill your obligations. And I think trades can be someplace in the middle of that. James with the block. Oh, look at the old man still getting it done on defense. LeBron James still takes great pride in rejecting shots. Here’s Donic. [Applause] [Applause] shooting two. [Applause] No good on that one. [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] He hits the second from the line for Miami. They’ve gotten two of five shots to fall this second quarter. Pass to Pal. Mitchell with the ball. He’s got five. Here’s Adabio. That one falls. Nice setup by Mitchell. Adabio’s got four points now in the quarter. And with a strong physical profile, Adabio is willing to battle always on the interior. And that replay showed how sensational that drive truly was. He made that drive look easy, but that had a high degree of difficulty. Making it look easy. LeBron James, old man, can still get up with the alley hoop finish. Pass to pal. [Applause] Back to Rosier. Shot clock at five from 12 ft. And again, it’s Miami converting. Check out Roier striking from mid-range. Maybe catching the defense offguard a little. [Applause] Here’s Reeves. He’s got five. denied by Alabio. Mitchell against Donic to the inside. And that one’s good. Yoic. And now it’s just a four-point Laker lead. Nice ball movement there. That’s how you break down the defense. Timeout. Timeout. The Lakers call timeout. Yeah, coach no doubt wants to use this timeout to review the matchups and maybe make some adjustments as well. I’m sure all of the above is in order and you can never be too content. [Applause] Heat. Heat. [Applause] Heat. Heat. Heat. [Applause] Heat. [Applause] And so it’s the Lakers with it. Donic. Passes to James. Back to Donic. Pass to Reeves. Down to five on the shot clock. The Lakers got to get one up. Blake clock. And Donic with the three. Donic has got 17 and working on becoming more dangerous from deep. Donic doesn’t lack confidence pulling up from way down. Adabio no good. I don’t know if he got in his own head there or what cuz the defense can’t really take credit for that miss. And with eight playing basketball either the live or video game version he’s often drawing. Yeah. I mean he grew up wanting to be an architect. I actually hear that he loves blueprints, but probably his most famous sketch himself dunking on Joel Embiid his rookie year. You’re not going to fool the officials too often on an illegal screen. That’s a very avoidable turnover. You got to focus on the details. The Lakers have gotten five of seven shots to fall in the second. Get there. Get there. And slam dunk by James. Honestly, I feel so fortunate to be able to sit here and watch this because there are not many vintage performances by LeBron James left to go in his career. Here’s Reeves. He’s got five and Dantic launches from deep. It’s hauled in by the Heat. Ottabio’s got rebound number five here tonight. [Applause] Pass to Pal. Back to Rosier and count the basket. He was fouled and he’s going to the line for one more. [Applause] Well, Richard, 17 years for you as a player. If you were to give some advice to someone starting their playing career right now, what do you think that would be? Oh, it would always be get your routine down. Get your pregame routine. Get your summer routine. You’ve got to figure out what it is that makes your game work because it’s hard. As you get older, NBA careers don’t last very long. But if you put your routine, you put your game first, everything else will fall in line. [Applause] And when you look at Roier, such a fantastic score, a gearshifting, talented guard who continues to improve. Smart outside to the left side wing. Pass to ABC takes the three. Offensive rebound and Aiden gets it to go. Aiden’s got his second basket. I mean, come on. A sevenfooter with a 75 wingspan. Aiden beats everyone to the ball and converts easily. [Applause] Now here’s Mitchell. Defense right on him. Chalk up two there. Mitchell’s got seven. And despite the height disadvantage, oh my, he just attacks that interior. Really unfazed. Throw his height right out the window there. Pass to Reeves. Here’s ABC. Six on the shot clock. Oh, and he got fouled on his way up. He’ll head to the line to shoot two. It’s on Norman Powell. [Applause] shooting two. Shoot it out. and he makes a first. Vanderbilt’s checked in for Los Angeles. And the Heat making a change here. [Applause] So he gets them both for Miami. They’ve gone seven for 11 in the second quarter. Timeout. Time out. Timeout called the Heat. [Applause] Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. [Applause] Pass the Hero. Now here’s Powell. [Applause] Wiggins outside. Five to shoot. From 11 ft away and the jumper is good. Pal’s got his first two points. These are the shots coach wants them hunting down. Just the easy makes down low and he throws it down with one hand. Woo! Defensively, you can’t afford to let him get to the rim that easily. Well, that might be why their deficit is what it is right now. Yeah, it’s going to take better rim protection than that if they’re going to climb out of this hole. The defense just giving him the easy look there. He’s not going to miss that. Here’s ABC. He’s guarded by Hero. And it’s ABC missing. Even though it wasn’t a clear path, he knows that that’s a shot he should make more often times than not. It was good to see Andrew Wiggins make his first Allstar team in 2022. For a player with such a great career, it was long overdue. [Applause] The free throw drops for Wiggins. Well, Wiggins didn’t just get an All-Star selection in 2022, Richard. He was picked as a starter. And that’s saying something for a man who isn’t always the focal point of his team’s offense. Wiggins doesn’t need to be the main guy. He wants to be the glue that holds the team together. Hayes has checked in for LeBron. No good on the second free throw. The Lakers have gotten eight of 14 shots to drop so far in the second. Soft touch off the glass. nine points in the game and just not letting up at all. I mean, you have to love this approach. You want to get the ball to the guys who make plays. This is when good players really get after it. He can sense that they’re reeling and he’s going to put his foot on the pedal. Pass to ABC. [Applause] Back to Smart inside and it’s Hayes that time on the assist from Smart and the Lakers lead by 13. Here’s ABC. Tipped. A chance here to catch up with Ally from the sideline. Well, Miami is very efficient. Coach Spolster said, quote, “You want to maximize your offense in all the different ways in your menu without feeling like you’re taking turns.” I don’t think anyone would say that about our team. They’re an unselfish group that likes sharing the ball and they enjoy each other’s success. Brian Ally, thank you. The Heat shooting 53% here in the second quarter [Applause] Mitchell. The pass to Powell, the three. He’s got it. Just two of seven from the field though. And making the extra pass. Wiggins teammates appreciate his willingness to get it to them when they’re uncovered. Pass to Reeves. Here’s the floater. He can’t get it to go and Miami will go the the other way with it. Here’s Powell. That one falls. Nice setup by Mitchell. Pal’s got seven points here in the quarter. Nice ball movement there. Delivered the pass right on time. Here’s Reeds. He’s guarded by Hero Smart outside. Here’s Reeves. [Applause] Rebound by the Heat. And the defense was all over him once he got in close. Didn’t want him to get too comfortable. [Applause] Now here’s Hero. Not a lot of room. Nice. Gets his second bucket. He’s two for four now. I just love when teams make it work down low. Pass to Reeves. [Applause] Out to the right wing. [Applause] Hayes. The pass to Smart over Mitchell. Here’s Hayes and finished off by Hayes. And I just love how he’s making the effort plays that everyone around him appreciates. It is certainly making an impact tonight. Offensive rebounding is about hustle and determination. Huge put back making a statement there. Good work by Wiggins going right into the coverage. Now he knows how to get himself to the line and get the shot off. [Applause] [Applause] And the first one at the line is good. [Applause] [Applause] and Wiggins drops them both. 19 seconds left to play in the first half of basketball. That shot is off. Hero outside. And the foul is called. He missed it. So, he’s got a couple of free throws coming his way. [Applause] [Music] [Applause] That one misses. [Applause] Good on the second one. [Applause] One second left. Doesn’t go that time. And a pretty tightly contested game here as we end the first half. [Applause] The Lakers on top leading by five and we’ll see you back here after the break. Third quarter action in just a bit. [Applause] Welcome back everyone to the 2K Sports halftime show. Some big time action already in this one. I’m Ernie Johnson along with Kenny the Jet Smith and Shaquille O’Neal. [Applause] Luca Donuch has been the story in this one. He ended up with 17 points, four assists, and four rebounds. He’s been playing extremely well lately and making some new highlights for us already in this one. And let’s get your thoughts, Kenny, on the Lakers. Love to see a team grind for those offensive boards. They’re doing the dirty work and converting those extra possessions into points. It’s got to be demoralizing for the defense at this stage. Jack, let’s get your insight on Miami. They’ve got to be more assertive on the glass. Getting out hustle is a great way to lose a game, but in the second half, they can generate extra possessions. It will go a long way toward getting the W. And that’ll do it for our halftime report. Stay tuned for the second half about to get underway. [Applause] We’ve got second half action for you. And if the next couple of quarters are similar to the first, this one could go down to the last possession. Boy, really an incredible game here from Luca Donuch. Through the first two quarters, he’s been on fire. Explosive offensive performance. If they don’t change their approach in the second half, let’s just say his success will continue. And if you’re just joining us, we play made through the first half in a game that’s been fairly even so far. They’ve got Bruyimura, LeBron James out there with DeAndre Aiden, then it’s Luca Donic, and it’s Hayes in at the two guard spot. That’s who’s in the game for the Lakers. And the shot goes in. Machimura’s got seven points. Love how selfless he is setting brick screens like this. Plays like that right there are what help create easy scoring opportunities. That was another look at our Mobile One drive of the game just a moment ago. Making an impact. I love the aggression playing on that front foot and looking to expand their lead. [Applause] Hayes against Hero. Rebounded by the Lakers. Donic has got his fifth rebound in this one. And there’s the foul. It’ll go on Norman Powell. That’s foul number two for him. It’s great to see a fantastic block on replay once again. Yeah, good offense comes from great defense. This lead is only getting stronger with plays like that. [Applause] And here’s Hayes. [Applause] Donic outside. He puts up a three and it’s Hayes that time on the assist from Donic. Trust Donic to make smart moves with the ball. He puts it in the hands of a guy with a wideopen shot. [Applause] Donic against Mitchell. Shot clock at six. The Heat need to get one up in a hurry for three. Pal the Lakers with the rebound. James has got five rebounds tonight. Aiden against Autobio to the paint. Aimura and the layup is good after a nice lead pass. Fantastic decision making. Aiden electing to move it for the high percentage look. Aimura against Powell. And a bit of a battle for the ball. And the officials signal a jump ball here and the Lakers with possession here for Los Angeles. They’ve gone three of three in this second half. Pass to James. Shoots over hero and there’s another one for the Lakers. They’re making it look easy out there. Just having fun, man. Their offense is clicking. Players, coaches, everybody. They are in sync. You’re not going to fool the officials too often on an illegal screen. That’s a very avoidable turnover. You’ve got to focus on the details. And the Lakers making a change here. Reeves has checked in [Applause] here. The Lakers with the ball. Nine points in a row. A good run going. LeBron is second all time on the NBA career scoring list. It’s just him and Kareem at the top. As long as he stays healthy, the King will set that record. Time called here. Miami decides to talk it over. Well, with all of LeBron’s accomplishments, Richard, how would you rate breaking the scoring record? For me, it’s up there with anything LeBron James has done. This record, I don’t think anyone’s going to break it. [Applause] Heat. Heat. Heat [Applause] up here. Yeah. Heat. [Applause] Mitchell against Donic. Pass to Yoic. Here’s Mitchell trying to get back on track again. The heat misses. Yeah, they just can’t seem to end the drought no matter where they shoot it from. This is snowballing for them. They’ve got to get a good look next time down. The Heat have gone 0 for three to start the second half. Pal passes to Hero. Mitchell with the ball. Kicks it to Hero. Switch. Switch. Switch. Just five to shoot. And the officials will call the illegal screen here. The screener was leaning a bit right there. His feet may not have been planted. Pretty obvious call by the officials. Look, guys get away with this all the time, but on this occasion, he got caught. James outside. Pass to Aimura. Here’s Reeves. Here’s the three. Adabio grabs the board. I think he’s gone completely dry. Nothing is hitting. Yeah. And the wrist now is that he gets inside his own head. Time to take deep breaths in through the nose, out through the mouth, and let the game come to you. He got in excellent position. Then takes it right back up. Donic on the wing. Check by Mitchell. Donic. Good. Fearless play by Donic in the paint. ready to do whatever it takes to find his shot. Hey, who got you? Mitchell up top. Guarded by Donic. Back to Mitchell. And he lobbs it up to the rim and out of Bio slams it in. The explosiveness off the screen. I mean, BAM so good at knowing where to roll to after setting picks. Pass to Aimura. Here’s Reeves. He’s guarded by Hiro. Now, Donic from deep. Ottabio grabs the board. Ottabio’s got seven rebounds in the game. It’s Pal on the wing. [Applause] shoots over Aton Pal shot is off for Los Angeles. They’ve gone six for nine in the half. Donic finds Aimura. Pass to James. Second shot opportunity and he takes it up and lays it in. James has got six here in the quarter. After all these years, LeBron still has the fire, willing to do the dirty work. Outside Mitchell. Here’s Yoic. And Aiden pulls it down. Aton’s got rebound number seven tonight. And slam dunk by James. Look, I’m going to be really honest with you guys. that he 100% is nearly impossible to stop. But when he’s going downhill, just get out the way. Hero outside pass to Yoic. Here’s Powell. Some solid defense from James. Showing great intensity around the rim is part of why he’s a respected defender. Yeah, you can see why he’s established that reputation. Strong understanding of how to defend at the ring. It’s time to take a glance again at that superb block. Amazing indeed. And getting stops like that only encourages him to keep attacking on the offensive end. And the Heat call time here. There’s just a lot of wide open lanes to the rim here that’ll drive your coach nuts. Yeah, we can see over here the coach, he has some choice words for his team. Words we cannot repeat. Heat up Heat. Heat. A different look for Miami. Andrew Wiggins checked in for Powell. And it’s Rosier in for Mitchell. On defense, the Lakers. Just four points. That’s all they’ve given up here in the second half. Aimura outside. out to the wing. Pass to Aiden and he got the whistle on the way up. So, he’ll be headed to the line for a pair. Yeah, solid inside play by Aiden. Staying strong and taking the foul while still putting up a shot. A chance to catch up on some numbers here. The scoring breakdown for the Lakers. [Applause] [Applause] He’s off on the first. Yeah. What I appreciate about Aidton is that he wants to keep getting better. You have to be excited about his future. [Applause] And he’s good on the second. Miami shooting 44% of a pretty decent clip. Rosier outside back to Hero. Oh, he took a hard foul on the shot. So he’ll head to the line to shoot a pair. It’s going to be on DeAndre Aton. Just an enforcer for this team. Autobio is no stranger to physical play, whether he’s receiving it or dishing it out. [Applause] Shooting two. [Applause] [Applause] First free throw is good. You have to love the style Bam brings with him to the floor. He’s such a spirited player and you can see his teammates enjoy it as well. Vanderbilts checked in for Los Angeles. And both free throws good for Adabio. And here are the Lakers. They’re on a 20-6 run. Here’s Reeves. He’s got nine. Donic outside. Pass to ABC. Five to shoot. And there’s a whistle. He’ll head to the line to shoot two. [Applause] And he knocks down the first one. Smarts checked in for Reeves. [Applause] [Applause] That’s also good. So he hits both free throws and the Heat shooting at about 44% so far. Rosier outside pass to Hakez. [Applause] 14 ft away. Some solid defense from James. They have really been in control of this one. You don’t want to get complacent here. Shot is up and hero grabs the board. Stolen by Vanderbilt. Here’s ABC. Donic outside. Pass to ABC [Applause] and he lobbs it up. Deflects the pass. Here’s Rosier and he drains the quick shot. Roier’s got seven points. Name a shot, Roier has mastered it. Terry’s developed into a topnotch scoring guard. Here’s ABC. Back to Smart. Shot clock at five. Get right here. And there’s the rejection inside. And Wiggins teammates trust him to finish off Ali Oops. His timing on these is just very impressive. Smart outside. Back to Donic. James outside. [Applause] Here’s ABC. Tries again. And so he draws the foul. Headed to the line to shoot a pair. Man, he made sure to get his money’s worth on that foul. No good on the free throw. Hayes is checked in for the Lakers. [Applause] And the second free throw is good. And for Miami, they’re shooting just about 33% since this second half started. Pass to Wiggins. Back to Rosir. Lets the three fly. The Heat rebound. He turns the offensive board into a big slam. Wow, he was so well positioned there. Credit his anticipation. Smart against Hero from deep. Here’s Donic. Hakez grabs the board. The Heat shooting pretty well at 45%. Hero for three. No good on the shot. And the Lakers will go the other way with it. Their biggest lead of the game was 20 21. Here’s ABC. No good. Excellent D there from Hero. [Applause] On the wing. Roier guarded by Donic. Here’s Hakez. Uses the glass on the layup. He’s got five. Boy, we’re seeing inspired play out of them. And that’s certainly reflected in the score. And here’s Dantic outside. Rebound by the Heat. Yeah, and the defense has really got to tighten up on him. I mean, he’s just too dangerous from the three-point line. Rose outside. [Applause] Four on the clock. Pass to Hero and the three-pointer goes. Hero’s got 11 points. And the basket created by Roier’s pass. Known to be a score first guard, but still Terry is adept at finding teammates. Here’s ABC. Oh, plenty of contact on that shot. Officials call the foul and he’ll take two free throws now. [Applause] [Applause] First one falls for him. And the Lakers making a change here. Aiden’s checked in. And Miami also making a switch. Mitchell’s checked in. [Applause] Hits both from the stripe. 52 seconds left to play in the third quarter here. Pass to ABC [Applause] and a foul called on the way up. So he’ll take two from the free throw line. It’s going to be on DeAndre Hatton. [Applause] Shooting two. [Applause] The first one falls. [Applause] [Applause] He’s perfect from the line this time. And the big fella with the skill level showing a soft touch at the line. It’s smart on the wing. [Applause] Rebound by the Heat. Heroes got his fifth rebound in this one. Wiggins from long range and is ABC with a rebound. [Applause] Pass to Vanderbilt down low. Here’s Donic. So, it’ll be two free throws. He was fouled in the act of shooting. And you can’t let Donic get this type of positioning because then you’re pretty much forced to foul him. [Applause] Two shots left on the first. [Applause] That’s good from Donic. [Applause] [Applause] Donic hits them both. Hero outside and no good. Trying to get that one to fall. And so it’s LeBron James making things happen for the Lakers. He put together 10 points in the quarter. Back after this. [Applause] And it’s time now to bring you our State Farm assist of the game. And just a selfless decision from your two guard showing his ability to get his teammates good looks. We talk a lot about playing for one another right there with the pass. He’s demonstrated what it means to do exactly this. And we reach the fourth quarter in a game that may already be out of hand. And for the Heat, they’re shooting at a decent clip. 45% for the game. On the floor for Miami starting the fourth quarter. Norman Pow out there with Mitchell. Then it’s Dan Obio. Then it’s Andrew Wiggins. No debate there. He got hammered. [Applause] shooting two. And he makes a first. [Applause] That one falls. So he hits both of them. Now here’s Donic Aimura outside. Here’s Reeves. The Lakers with the ball. Their biggest lead of the game is 21. Here’s Donic. Oh, the teardrop falls in. Donic has got 23. This is Donic’s pure shooting ability in action, making it look easy with that nice floater. And no lack of aggression on that move. Good for the 2K drive. And this is exactly what you love to see. Up big, not letting up, keep on applying pressure to their defense. 13 ft out. Here’s Yoic. And that one’s good with extra effort on the glass. How about the level of activity this dude just brings to the glass, just refusing to give up on plays. And his teammates, trust me, they appreciate the effort. Here’s Donic. up again. Controls the rebound and the put back and the Lakers lead by 13. He really gets in perfect position for the follow. Just a terrific read. Wiggins again. It’s James. Wiggins passes to Mitchell. Clock at six. Pal outside. That one’s good. Mitchell making the play. Mitchell’s got six assists now in the game. Donic outside. Swish switch. And great job to establish position and square up. for Miami. They’ve gone two of three to open the fourth quarter. Wiggins outside Mitchell. The pass to Pal. The three ball and the Heat. Another three. Pick works well there, but the defense left a lot to be desired. Yeah, that just comes down to a lack of effort. The defender has to do a better job fighting through the screen. And a nice finish on the layup. Donic has got four points in the corner. And the strength of Donic allows him to play through contact. Surprised he didn’t get the start treatment there. No whistle. Aimura against Wiggins. Back to Powell. Five on the clock. Offensive rebound. Autobio. The three from Mitchell. Drops in the three. This has been their game plan here in the final period. We’ll see if it continues to work out. I think when you’ve got it going from three-point range, you got to keep it going. It’s a good way to kind of pile up the points quickly. Aiden passes to Aimura. Oh, count it. And the foulio. And so he’s picked up his final foul and he’ll sit the rest of this one out. With the depth they have at that spot, they’re more equipped than most teams to handle that kind of loss. [Applause] And it’s the Heat with the ball. They trail by nine. Pass to Pal. Back to Mitchell. To the middle. Here’s Wiggins. Ooh, the lead pass was in the perfect spot to set up the layup. Never afraid of a little physical play. Wiggins embraces the challenge of scoring on a tough defense. To the inside and there’s James on the assist by Donic. Donic has got nine assists in the game. Great passing pass to Yovic and he’ll draw the foul. He’ll head to the line for two. It’s on LeBron James. [Applause] [Applause] Shoot two. [Applause] And he knocks down the first one. [Applause] [Applause] So he makes one of two and the second one misses. The Lakers have gotten five of six shots to go in the fourth. Pass to Aimura and here’s Aiden. [Applause] That is ABC with a rebound. [Applause] Powell outside. Mitchell with the ball. Check by James. Now Powell outside Mitchell. Four on the clock over James and it’s off the back of the rim. No good. The Lakers in the lead. Here’s Reeves. Oh, there’s a killer two hand slam. Attacking the rim with power. Tremendous finish. ABC. No stopping him there. Jams it in and he’s fouled. An opportunity in a three-point play. It’s going to be on DeAndre Aton. [Applause] [Applause] One [Applause] for Los Angeles. They’ve gotten six of eight shots to fall during this fourth. Pass to Reeves. [Applause] Here’s Aiden. fades and shoots. Here’s Donic. Pal pulls it in. Miami trailing over Aiden. Pal’s shot is off. Well, Los Angeles shooting 60% here in the fourth quarter. Terrific efficiency. Here’s James. Uses the glass to finish the layup. James has got four points now in the quarter. Good work on the block. I like when LeBron gets aggressive this close to the rim. Mitchell against Donic and he’s going to the line for two. The official saw contact while he was going up. It’s on Ruy Aimura. [Applause] Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. [Applause] That free throw is good for Mitchell. Hero. He’s checked in for Andrew Wiggins. [Applause] Both free throws good for Mitchell. The Lakers have gotten seven of 12 shots to drop in this fourth quarter. Donic passes to Achimura. [Applause] Here’s Reeves. Aimura in the post working on Pal and the foul on the shot. So he’ll take two from the free throw line. [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] Two shots. [Applause] The first free throw is good. [Applause] And both free throws good for Aimura. The Heat have gotten six of 10 attempts to drop for the fourth quarter. Powell outside. Donic against Mitchell. Powell for three. Rebound. The Lakers. Eightton’s got rebound number 10 tonight with that last one. Pass to Aimura. Here’s Reeves. That shot off the mark and Miami will go the other way with it. Pal with it. [Applause] Miami no good that time either. He’s trying to find his shot, but at some point you have to start making these. The shot by James. No good. Miami shooting an even 50% since the fourth quarter got underway and it’s in there. It’s harder to thread those passes inside, but the reward is evident. Time called here. Los Angeles decides to talk it over. Adjustments are a part of every game in every quarter of a game. I think coach sees something here. Yeah, this is a good opportunity to get your group together and make sure everyone is on the same page. Heat up here. Heat. Heat. [Applause] And now a moment to present the New Balance Player of the Game, LeBron James. Yeah, and this game really has his fingerprints all over it. He’s been dominating and making it look effortless. It’s always fun to watch someone just flat out take over like he’s done here today. Boy, you can see the amazing relationship he’s built with the hometown fans and it motivates him to always give them his very best. All right, let’s get a report from Alli. During that last break, I heard the Lakers coach as he addressed his team. He said to his players, “You may want to get comfortable with this lead, but we can’t afford that. That’s when we get into trouble. Just keep executing the game plan and trust in one another.” All right. Appreciate it, Ally. Down to five on the shot clock. Come on. Come on. And again, no good by the Lakers. The Heat have gotten seven to go out of 13 attempts during the fourth. Hero with the bucket. And you want him taking good shots at this point in the game. And that one was easy. Yeah, it’s clear why they to go to him in these moments. They know he’s going to deliver for him. [Applause] Aimura outside. Donic outside. Sinks it from distance. Donic has got 11 in the second half. And I love Donic shot selection. So smart at knowing when to shoot it. Here’s Hero. Sinks that one. Now shooting five of 10 and looking sharp. The Lakers have gotten eight of 16 attempted shots to go here in the fourth. Pass to James. Now here’s Donic. Yes, he nails it. Donic has got 30 points. He’s earning his keep offensively. A key part of their winning effort at this point for three. Pal. That one’s good. Mitchell making the play. Mitchell’s got nine assists in the game. Great passing. Donic outside. Pass to Aimura. Ooh, a clear foul there on the missed shot. So, he’ll get a pair at the line. [Applause] [Applause] Two, two. First free throw is good. Wiggins. He’s checked in for Miami. [Applause] [Music] [Applause] And good on the second. So he makes them both. Miami trailing. Hero outside. pass to Yovic. Oh, and he got fouled on his way up. He’ll head to the line to shoot two. [Applause] [Applause] shooting two. [Applause] That free throw no good. [Applause] He hits the second from the line. The Lakers in the lead. Pass to Reeves. And here’s Aiden. [Applause] Hero with it to the middle and he takes the fantastic lead pass up strong for the slam. And once he gets to the rim, it’s fairly automatic. Nothing fancy right there. Just takes his two points, moves on. Donic against Mitchell. Just five on the clock. Throws up at the elbow. He can’t get that one to fall. And Miami will go the other way with it. Here’s Hero. Oh, another basket for him. He’s six of 11 now. Such a graceful move. Showing off the floater game. Pass to Reeves. Eight inside. Here’s Reeves. This one for three. Out of bounds. It’ll be Miami’s ball. Time called here. Miami decides to talk it over. They’re down by two. 143 left in the game. Heat up Heat. Heat. Here’s Hero. The shot is good and this game is back to even. Hero’s got 19 points and this is just typical of him always making an impact at crucial moments in the game and his team needs every bit of his production if they want to pull this one out. It is neck and neck here in the final period. Yes, it’s good. Stop it. An incredible move to shake his man. Getting the defender on his heels doing the rest with ease. Now here’s Hero’s right on him. Good shot. No good. Oo, he really came close to leveling the score there. You love the intensity out there right now. Close game. Both teams leaving it all out there. You got this guy right here. Yeah, I got He gets the first and that makes it a three point lead. And so he drops them both and it’s a four-point ball game. Kiss them to fall. And those are huge free throws. It’s now a two-possession game. 103 left in the fourth quarter. Here’s Hero. It’s stolen by James. Pass break. Here come the Lakers. Watching Muro from long range can’t get it to fall. That miss makes him five for nine. Hero for three. It falls. And that one brings him within one. And talk about stepping up in a big way. What a huge play coming. Do what matters most. Don’t you find James. And it’s good. Is anyone Are we even surprised at this point? Like this is what he does. Like he just shows up clutch. Oh, it’s clutch done. All right, here you go. Time called here. Miami decides to talk it over. They trail by three and we’ve got 28 seconds left to play in the fourth quarter. Hero with it. the 11-footer and too long on the shot. A perfect example of how to protect the rim. This is why he’s out there in situations like this. He stands tall to prevent points. And no one’s more familiar with this situation than LeBron. This team leans on him even harder in the clutch. 20 seconds left in the fourth quarter of this one. Now here’s Hero. He’s covered closely. The shot no good. And now they decide to foul intentionally. [Applause] Two shots. Relax on the first. [Applause] And he cannot get the first one to drop. Tough one to miss. [Applause] That’s good. Going one of two from the line and that increases the lead to six for three. Pal and Reeves pulls it down. And so they choose to intentionally foul. First free throw is good and that makes it a seven point lead. So he goes two for two at the line and it’s an eight-point ball game. And here’s Hero. And so it’s the Lakers with the W. Even early on in this game, they appeared happy to be playing at home.
