im surprised players dont do this more often because theres no consequences for trying it
league should probably start looking into making it a tech

I thought they made a change to let coaches challenge this after the Harden missed points on a dunk (went through the rim, but then flung back through the net) against the Spurs a few years ago which MDA wasn’t able to challenge because it was treated as a live ball. (From memory the Rockets were up by like 20 at the time, and then the Spurs won after Lonnie Walker had his best game ever in just the 4th quarter).
They should consider adding another ref on the floor /s.

Is this actually interference tho? He doesnāt touch the ball or rim. Thereās two clauses about touching the net but only when you either make the rim move or prevent the ball passing through the net. Neither of those happened, the guy blew the dunk

Iāve stopped watching this dumb league. I love basketball but canāt stand what the āmodern rulesā have done to it. Iām 25, grew up in this ānew eraā, and never had to deal with blatant travelling, carrying, or goaltending. This is embarrassing for the sport.
Goal tends need to be reviewable by the coaches
How do they miss this? It’s one of the most fundamental rules. And it involves the ball — the only one on the court! It’s not like they missed a guy’s toenail being in the paint while the ball was being passed around the outside.
I’d love to hear the NBA address this. Even though the Raptors ended up winning, it still stinks to high heaven.
