Justin Jefferson explains J.J. McCarthy’s impact on Vikings’ win on FaceTime | FNIA | NFL on NBC

What’s up, dude? Look good, man. How you doing, man? I’m doing good. You know, just trying to enjoy this victory and uh just celebrate with a couple of my guys. Good. That’s awesome, man. All right, so first off, let’s just get right into it. Like, what was kind of the week like? You guys come off a Thursday night, bad loss, didn’t play like yourselves, right? What was the mentality all week? Uh really just uh control what we can control and uh continue to have that energy and have that focus. And you know, we feel like we have the guys out there to uh to win games and uh to to be something big in this league. It’s just all about taking one play at a time, executing at full potential. Uh and of course going out there with energy, with that confidence uh to to make those plays without What about your young QB, right? Talk about him big game right here. What up, man? What’s up, JJ? Yeah, he’s he’s great, man. you know, just the confidence that he’s been playing with and uh him having that leadership role and he’s been leading us in that huddle and uh giving us those those words of wisdom and words of motivation, you know, before we go go out there on that field. So, uh I’m glad he’s back. Glad that he has that energy and that confidence to go out there and ball. Uh it’s just all about taking one play at a time and continue to be ourselves. He he fired the ball to you on that touchdown there, right? take us that play with your little one-hand catch in the right corner of the end zone there. Yeah. Um it was really RPO read uh and the whole week, you know, we’ve been saying if we get that man-to-man press coverage, uh we’re going to give me an opportunity to go up and make a play. Uh so I’m just glad that JJ seen uh that press coverage and uh he gave me an opportunity to make a play. A great ball, great spot. Uh and he just finishing the play. But but you didn’t finish the play. Where was the gritty? Why didn’t you break out the gritty today? Hey, it’s it’s been it’s been so long I’ve been in that end zone and of course uh we’ve been we we’ve been playing in this hostile environment. Uh so I had to lift a couple fans in the eyes and give him a little stare. Hey, how about Okay. All right. All right. So, how about the last play the last play of the game to steal it? The throw to nailer right again. Did you guys feel like you were going to get manto man there on the little pick rub play? What was it there? I mean, yeah. I mean, of course, we calling that play, that individual play to get man-to-man coverage. Uh, of course we have a can to a different play if we don’t get that man-to-man coverage. Uh, but you know, seeing the manto man, uh, and JJ giving, you know, speed and opportunity to go up and make a play. Uh, we always said, you know, just give us a play, especially in our room, uh, to give us, uh, you know, that play and that opportunity to go up and make a make a grab and, uh, he made a tremendous big play for us uh, to keep us on that field and to end that game. Do you got to have like a different mentality when you know you play the Lions, right? You haven’t won there, I think, since your rookie year. Is it do you know it’s going to be a different week? Oh, for sure. It’s always the energy is always going to be high against against them. You know, they just like you said, we haven’t won since we’ve been here. Uh so it it’s it’s definitely the energy was high. You know, it was it was about time for this team to come together and make some plays and and play as one hole. Uh so it was just great to see the guys out there having fun uh and going out there and and making plays together. How about the ice, right? I mean, what So you you saved this one for after the game? You didn’t wear that during the game? No, I don’t wear this one during the game. This is going too heavy. But I You already know. You already know. I always got something extra. Okay. I was wondering. I was like, I didn’t know if we’re making the switch or what we’re doing here. All right. Good to know, man. All right. Four and four though coming down the stretch. You guys feel like you’re still in this thing? Oh, for sure. You know, you know, we won two games in the division, two and0 in the division. Uh and you know, of course, we’re going back home uh getting our home uh fan base back involved and uh into the spirit. Uh and it’s all about the preparation. You know, of course, uh throughout the week, having that preparation of going out there, executing our plays, uh knowing that we’re what we’re going to call and uh dialing up and uh executing to the fullest potential. So, uh the confidence uh needs to stay there. Uh the energy needs to stay there. Uh, but as long as we going out there and just pray our ball, not really shooting ourselves in the foot, then these outcomes will happen more often. Yeah, keep the beliefs, man. You know, we’re rooting for you. Best of luck, buddy. Yes, sir. Appreciate you, dog. Much love. Yep. Peace out, buddy. See you, man. Yes, sir. Hi, I’m Mike Trico and thanks for watching.
