  1. “Noooo bro you don’t get it trying to win the World Series is actually super bad for baseball we need great players to get stuck on teams that take advantage of their popularity to sell jerseys while treating all-time greats like shit noooo” – r/mlb

  2. I don’t get these type of posts. It’s like saying the sky is blue. Well no shit. You go to a winning organization and guess what? You win! Wow who would have thought! This is just lazy low hanging fruit content

  3. Baseball needs a salary cap or harsher penalties for teams exceeding the soft cap. Conversely the sport also needs salary floor as well.

  4. And he could have stayed another 5 years in Anaheim with the same outcome.

That franchise doesn’t need Ohtani, it needs competent management that can work without ownership interference and start the long, long overdue earnest rebuild.

  5. Pretty easy when he joins a stacked team. I think Ohtani is great but he’s not carrying a team to the WS by himself. EVERY team sport that wins a championship is because that player is a part of a great team. Not because they’re the best player on the league. Although that can be true as well.

  6. Trout and Ohtani missed a lot of games together. Im not trying to defend my team but one of the biggest frustrations of being an Angels fan has been the IL.Trout had a lot of long stints on the IL, only to come back and Ohtani hit the IL. Rendon also pretty much checked out permanently. Pujols remained playing but his production was streaky.

Angels had a making of a star studded team they just rarely were able to fire on all cylinders at once.

  7. And yet there are a few out there that think the Angles had a chance to resign Ohtani.

  8. That’s what the Dodgers are, a team of highly paid mercenaries. Small markets look out they’re coming for your best players. 💯

  9. Best player in baseball and you surround him with other talented players, plus the team spends money like crazy due to no salary cap in a huge market. Yeah, that’s a recipe for winning.

The Angels had good players, but that’s not enough with bad ownership. These stupid articles/posts make it seem like he single handedly got 2 rings for LA. They don’t win last year without Freeman and they don’t win this year without Yamamoto.

  10. MLB should make owner mandatory sell the team if they can’t make post season 10 years in a row.

  11. He should have never signed with the angels in the first place. He should have just signed with the dodgers when he entered the MLB. He would probably have more than 2 rings if he had gone straight to the dodgers

  12. Everyone who cares knows this already. Posting this is just poking Angels fans for no good reason.

  13. Arte Moreno should be kicked out of the league as an owner for that alone. What an embarrassing owner.

  14. The more World Series Shohei Ohtani wins, the more damning Arte Moreno’s legacy becomes.

He is lucky the New York Jets and the Buffalo Sabres are the Big Four sports teams with a longer playoff drought.

  15. Good. F**k the Angels. Their incompetence robbed us of young Ohtani. He’s arguably at his apex RN, but he was a complete unknown there.

Edit: Unknown in the sense that baseball didn’t gravitate as a whole to his talent like it should have
