NHL Highlights | Red Wings vs. Sharks – November 2, 2025
assistant coach and he talked today about what an opportunity it was for him not to just become a head coach here in San Jose for the first time but to inherit a good team with Thornton and Marlo. So with William Ecklund out this line now features Gwenberg with Kurishv sliding over to the right side where Ecklund had been and Jeff Skinner takes Here’s Casper again 92 in white for Detroit. It’s Sandine Telica back up on the wing and it bounces to Casper. His shot goes high. Red Wings out of the corner. Nice little give there by Finny. Here’s Celibbrini. Back the other way for the Sharks. He’ll get wide onto Smith and a shot knocked down by Camp Del on the board here at the Shark Tank. Red Wings trying to get their power play organized here, but so far the Sharks penalty kill has been solid and Alex Nidelkovich asked to make a save responds accordingly. Remike James Van Reike who’s been around league for a long time and can score goals. Look, he just sets up and it boom. He’s looking for that deflection then a little collateral damage and it goes off Van Remdsteike then I do believe Lil. Oh no, was Alex stick. Alex really good stick. Good play by Chipotle to break it up and now Cabbrini with the Sharks back at full strength. Mean Celbrini attacking backhand pass knocked aside by the wings, but it comes back to Celibbrini. He’s on his backhand to forehand shoots it into a crowd and it hit Cal but I don’t think he saw it. Haven’t seen very many players who can make that quick of a cut and get to the forehand. It was tire in front unfortunately with four goals in his last three games. Wenberg looks for Sam Dickinson. Dickinson shoots. Saved by Talbot and the rebound available and Dickinson’s back on it. Shakir Mullan and that’s swallowed up by Cam Talb still looking for NHL goal number one. It came close there. Courtesy of the official is franchise back into the playoffs. They went through three straight years of progression in points. They regressed by five points last season. Trouble here. Lin with a twoon one for Detroit. Dylan Lin and a glove save by Nadulkovich. Huge save. Huge best stop of the game for the Sharks goalender Nadulkovich. Especially Alex Nadulkovich. Nice going Ned. A loose puck at the front of the Gold Creek. Valet knocked it down as Dickinson tries a wrist. Now a broken stick for Detroit. A chance for this charge and Talba drives across and stops Barkley Goodro for either side so far tonight, but the Red Wings are out shooting 16-9. Here’s Finny. Nice feed and the wrap around Nadulkovich. Two big saves and he hangs on. No rebound. Here come the wings. Sandine Pelica with a wrist shot blocked by Wenberg. There are Swedes everywhere you look in this game. Lucas Raymond from Sweden shoots and scores. Off the bar and down. Virtually unstoppable for Nadulkovich. And the Red Wings break through with the first goal of the night. So far in this game, you’re going to have to put one in perfect spot. A really great shot and I think a little bit of interference as far as the ocular type goes. What a great move by Raymond and you see that Tim Liginrren’s in front as you can see on just before the shot. Alex Adelkovich is looking to the other side. Shot comes back to the left. He’s looking to his right. Got to win the puck. You got to get everybody involved. The Sharks have not struggled to score of late. Tonight being the exception. Three here yesterday, five against Jur in front of a family audience. It was nasty. It was. Here’s Philip Kurishv. A possible threeon two. Stick handles. Pass. Score. Jeff Skinner ties it up with one. Yes, you did. What a beautiful pass. But it’s the middle drive, right? You got to get to the net. You got a middle drive. Kurt Chev waits until his Dman fights. It’s a good exit. Crawford support. Three guys up on the rush now. Wait, wait, wait. Now as he sees Cider get to him. That opens up the passing lane. That opens up the chance towards the net. And a beautiful tip. Casper will bring it in for Ginketin. Loads up. Shoots. Blocker saved by the Delulkovic. Another chance for Detroit. And that effort by Dbrinket block Edmonson. And now Cider and he scores. Maurice Cider top of the net. And Detroit’s up two to one. But again, watch in front of the net. Appleton in front of the net. There’s no way again that Dulkovich sees it. You either got to box out, which the Sharks don’t do very often, or you got to block shots. On this shot, it’s might be unblockable. Boom. Up top, up high. But as players are at the net again, Madelkovich is trying to find it. Cop on the move. Dickinson there safely for the Sharks. And he gave it up. Here’s a chance for Copper. Saved by the Tulkovic. Graph can’t pick it up, but Or got in front of it and a quick turnaround shot by Cardwell. Went wide and high. Dickinson for Orlov and he leaves it for Lin. Dylan Lin and Nalovich rubs it with a great glove save. 2-1 Detroit leads. What a stop by Ned. Almost lost it, but McDoolan comes up and it’s swung in by Tobi Child. Out of the corner for the Sharks, Will Smith front of the net. Smith’s got it back again in front. They score. Sam Dickinson with his first National Hockey League go for Sam. And what a great moment. Good job along the boards. Patrick Giles comes in. He makes the play along the boards. Seals the boards. Smith tries to sneak it in. Good support by Will Smith and gets it back with all the traffic there. It looks an awful lot like we’re headed to a fourth period as Nadulkovich will carefully hand this off to Dmitri Olaf and we will go to threeon three overtime here in San Jose for Detroit. 2-2 final game in the NHL overtime. Glad you’re with us wherever you’re watching Sharks hockey tonight. On his backand tried to slip a pass through. Intercepted. Here’s Wenberg. He’s got courage. Can he get the puck to the net? Takes the shot and it’s saved by Cam Talban. Kurishv won it here yesterday in overtime. Wenberg for Clingberg. Poked away. And now a break. Alex to Brink in alone for Detroit. And it’s saved by Nelkovich. What a stop. You got to get a guy who’s got eight points in his last five games. Dinka takes off after making a nice defensive play. Comes in fake little shot. Look at the extension. Oh my less than half a minute to go. Here’s JT Copper across center into the zone. Pass loss and then it’s stopped by Nulkovic. Mini’s got the puck. There’s 15 seconds left. He’ll get it on the wing to Kersev. Kersev waiting. Kersev Salini inside shoots and it’s off Loiger and stick and Cider will get to it in the corner. 3 seconds to go and we’ll go to a shootout. And the shoot under a shootout underway as Lucas Raymond carries in for Detroit. And a save for Alex against Cam Telb. and Talbbert there to make the save for Detroit as Mlin tries to drag him to one side then shoot back the other side. You go five hole. Yeah, tries to go the other side. Doesn’t get the shot who also was in the shootout Thursday but did not score against the Kings and he doesn’t score here. opening. They try to make a little move to bring it again. Kind of like Mlin tries to make a little move to the middle and then go five hole or just over the pad and he scores. Tyler who will try and equalize for the Sharks. Good little play by Van Remite who scored a lot of goals. He’s got a lot of range too. He takes one step and he he’s all of a sudden in scoring and it’s saved by Tel and the Red Wings will get the extra point and win it in the shootout. [Music]
Moritz Seider scored his first goal of the season, James van Riemsdyk scored the winning goal in the shootout, and the Detroit Red Wings took a 3-2 win over the San Jose Sharks.

The NHL is better when the Red Wings are playing well
LGRW!!!! GG Sharks ๐ฆ
What's going on with Patty Kane?
Seider ๐
A slow paced game for most of it except the overtime. For being without one of their best players, this could have gone a lot worse for the sharks. Ned was very good in net and kept the team in it. Very happy to see Dickinson get his first career goal, right after the sharks decided to keep him in the NHL for the remainder of the season and burn a year on his entry level deal. The power play was doing really well with Orlov and ever since they switched to Klingberg they have not scored a single power play goal. Let's see how they do against the Kraken
Eklund injured? and back to back games and still getting a point is a positive. 6:43 Dickinson getting his first goal. The sharks are in an interesting position where both winning and losing helps them. As long as they still get a top 10 pick in the NHL draft a little improvement now might be good for next season.
klingberg and orlov looking very spotty today
I compliment the Wings on how well the fans travel with the team.
please call up Danielson and send Kasper down. why Kasper is cemented to the 2C spot?
13 games, 3 points. RN he doesn't do much at all to help the team. he does some i suppose, but not enough.
Redwings don't block shots or take away the passing lanes by laying down either on your side or on your belly.. Insane that this ain't being preached and burned into there brains by now.. ๐๐
Even looking back it is still crazy the Wings cap dumped Walman for a 2nd rounder. That the Wings wanted more cap room makes sense but why Walman and why offer a 2nd also? It just baffles me. You would think one NHL team would have just agreed to take Walman for free where the Wings lose nothing.
Nice goal by "Maurice" Seider๐
Heck of a week for the Sharks.
Even Larkin was in awe of that save by nedelkovic
I gotta watch more Sharks games just to hear this color guy stumble through pronouncing Liljegren
So sad they switched the goal horn music ๐ it was so good before
Detroit Red Wings is now my favorite hockey team because Detroit, Michigan makes me think of Iran ๐ฎ๐ท because of comic book characters Spawn and Astaroth in Soul Calibur.
Hope to see Detroit ๐ become Stanley Cup Champions again like 2008.
Ned is damn good goalie. Kept them in it. So close. Great game.
