Paul Skenes To Yankees, Robert Acuna Jr To Yankees | 5 Dream New York Yankees Moves That Can Happen
So, in this New York Yankees off season video, I am going to be going over five dream New York Yankees moves that I think could happen this 202526 MLB offseason. As always, leave your thoughts down below in the comments section of this video and let’s get right into it. So, the first dream New York Yankees moves that I think could happen this off season is trading for Robert Akunia Jr. of the Atlanta Braves. Now, I don’t think Akunia is going to be actively shopped this off season, even with the Atlanta Braves having a disastrous 2025 season. They’re going to still probably run it back, I would say, for 2026. They might even add through free agency, whatever the case may be. But I fully expect this team to be competitive uh maybe or at least or at least bounce back uh for the 2026 campaign. So, I think for the time being, this is likely not going to happen. But if for whatever reason the Braves decide to go into a bit of a rebuild, a rebuild, uh maybe players like Ronald become unhappy, this would be like a dream trade candidate in my opinion uh for the Yankees to go after. So this past year for Ronald Akunia Jr. in Atlanta, uh he had a fantastic year once again. a 3.1 season, 98 hits, 21 home runs, a 290 batting average, uh 74 runs scored, 42 RBI’s, nine stolen bases, and on base of 417, a 518 slug, an OPS of 935, and an OPS plus of 163. So, Robert Aunia Jr. or Ronald Akuni Jr., my apologies, is one of the best players in baseball. Like, this guy is an absolute stud. if he was somehow available on the trade market. First of all, the Braves would get back a gigantic amount in return and also too, he’d be a very coveted player, not only by the Yankees, but pretty much every other team out there uh in the MLB because he’s a perfect combination of an affordable asset. I believe he has uh one year remaining, if I’m not mistaken, on his contract, but he does have also a team option in 2027 and 2028. So, this guy’s very affordable. He of course signed a big-time deal uh way back in 2019 that he of course is much better than now. So this is one of the best value contracts in baseball which is why I think the Braves would be so reluctant to trade him but if they were to trade him of course as I you know as I circle back to they could get back whatever they wanted. Like they really could. Like Ronald’s only going to be 28 years old next year. You can throw him into the corner outfield. He’s one of the best players in baseball. He just makes so much sense for the Yankees. Like this is the splash they need to make. like if they lose out on Cody Bellinger, if they lose out on Kyle Tucker this off seasonason, they have to address the outfield. And there’s some other players that I’ll talk about in a little bit that could also fit the bill in that regard. But I think in regards to a dream candidate or or or a dream target, which is the focus of this video, I think Ronald Akunia Jr. is exactly that. The Braves are heading in the wrong direction possibly. Could he be a trade target, especially with how good his contract is? He he very well could be. So, if the Braves want to reset their roster, get back an absolute hull, Ronald Dunia Jr. to me would make a ton of sense in that regard as a New York Yankees dream trade candidate. The next New York Yankees dream move that I think could happen this off season is signing Bo Bashette of the Toronto Blue Jays. So, this one could actually be somewhat realistic. I guess only time will tell uh because Bo Bashette is a free agent this 2025 26 off season. So, Bo Bashette this past year for the Blue Jays was amazing. He of course got injured towards the last little bit of the season and that impacted him especially throughout the playoffs and we saw him this playoffs especially you know yesterday. Bo Shett was fantastic like he’s a really talented player means a lot to this Blue Jays team and offensively speaking he’s going to be a hard player to replace but if he does hit the open market and the Yankees who I think in are in desperate need of a shortstop they could definitely move Anthony Vulp look for a replacement Bobette just makes way too much sense in that regard. Now, Bobette this past year for the Blue Jays, as I mentioned before, had a fantastic season. A 3 point a 3.4 war season. 181 hits, 18 home runs, a 311 batting average, 78 runs scored, 94 RBI’s, four stolen bases, and on base of 357, a 483 slug and OPS of 840, and an OPS plus of 129. So, Bo Bette, complete bounceback year from his disastrous 2024 campaign. This is what you can kind of expect from Bo. Like he’s one of the best contact hitters in all of baseball. He hits for average. He gets on base. He’s just a fantastic offensive player. He does struggle defensively speaking. So when it comes to finding an upgrade over Vulpe defensively speaking at shortstop, Bo Bashette just really isn’t that guy. Now, in my personal opinion, I think Bo Bashette’s better off being a long-term second baseman uh rather than a long-term shortstop. So, that’s what could come into play this off seasonason is that does Bo P Bet want to get paid like a high-end shortstop or a high-end hitter because he’s not a high-end shortstop. He’s a high-end hitter that just plays shortstop right now even though he’s not very good at it. But Bob Bashett’s only going to be 28 years old next year. So, just like Ronald Akunia Jr., lots of runway left um in Bob Bashett’s MLB career. He’s going to get paid pretty handsomely this off seasonason. Whether that’s going to be from Toronto or from another team, I guess only time will tell. I think he can get a contract about, you know,$25 to $30 million plus per year on a long-term deal. And this could be a great deal for all parties involved. So, I think if the Yankees want to go out there and improve at the shortstop position, Bobett’s an option for them this off season, the shortstop uh market isn’t really that lucrative this offseason in free agency. So, if they want to address this in free agency, Bobett’s really the only guy that I would even keep my eye on. uh if they want to address it in the trade market, which I’ll touch on in a little bit as well. There are some other options available uh for the Yankees to pursue, but I think Bobette um as a player that’s an upgrade over Anthony Vulp is is a definite uh you know, box check in my opinion. And in regards to a dream candidate, he could be very realistic as well uh for the Yankees this offseason. So, the next dream New York Yankees move this off seasonason for them to make is definitely a bit of a stretch, but Paul Sches has to be talked about in this video because when you talk about players that are dream candidates for the Yankees, Paul Schmes comes up in every conversation. So, not much to really say about Paul Sch. He is arguably the best pitcher in Major League Baseball. Uh, this past year for the Pirates, he had a 7.64 six war season, 10 wins, 10 losses, an RA of 1.97, 32 games played, 187 innings pitched with 216 strikeouts and a whip of 0.948. So Paul Skins is going to win the signing award this year and he could definitely win more SC Young awards for the next couple of years if he still performs at this high of a level. Now, why I toss Paul Ske into this conversation is that if the Pirates ever decide to trade him, which is obviously foolish, but truthfully speaking, it’s probably going to happen at some point. The Yankees have to be a team that has to get aggressive and make this acquisition. Like Trick Scoo, who I’m not talking about in this video, could also fit the uh the bill in that regard where these are just players that are part of teams that maybe don’t want to pay these guys long term. The Pirates especially are a very cheaply ran organization. So, if Paul Skins is going to ask for the Sun and the Moon on his next contract, which in my opinion, he definitely should because he’s arguably the best pitcher in baseball, are the Pirates going to pay that? Historically speaking, you know, science would say probably not. So, I think Paul SK at some point will be a trade candidate. Now, is it going to be this off season? Probably not. But the Pirates can get back more and more for him the earlier they trade him. Whereas if they hold on to him, maybe he regresses, the asking price drops a little bit and as it gets closer and closer to free agency without a contract, the value for him is going to go down a little bit. But as of right now in 2025, uh Paul Skins is just arguably the the most uh untouchable player in baseball in my opinion, or at least should be treated as such. But I think the Pirates are going to trade him. Like I really do believe that. So, the New York Yankees could desperately use some help in the rotation next year. Finding their next guy for the next 10 to 15 years as well has to be on the radar as someone like Garrick Cole’s getting a little bit older as well as injury concerns. And with Garrick Cole and Carlos Rodon missing uh the start of next season, the Yankees have to address the starting pitching market in some capacity. Now, there are some players available in free agency. There’s players like Dylan Cece that come to mind, for example. Uh there’s players like Zack Allen. So, they could probably plug uh the rest of their rotation through players in free agency, but I think if they want to go big game hunting, Paul Skins is that guy. And this would be like the most New York Yankees move of all time. This would be an absolute throwback where the Yankees are a star organization who acquires star players. And realistically speaking, Paul Sches is that star. He’s under team control until 2020 or after the 2029 season. So, you get this guy for next year, the year after, and then two years after that. So, four years under team control for Paul Skins is absolutely incredible. This could kind of be a Mason Miller situation where it could be in the best interest for the Pirates to trade him early uh compared to later. But, I don’t know. I just I I just had to throw this on the list because if Paul Ske is somewhat available for trade, the Yankees have to basically do all they can to land him because this would just be an amazing move uh for both Paul Ske and the Yankees in my opinion. The next dream New York Yankees move that I think could happen this off seasonason is Zack Neto of the Los Angeles Angels. So, kind of similar to Bo Bashette, if the New York Yankees want to address the shortstop position, but they don’t want to go through the limited options in free agency, Zach Neto, I think is a good combination of a player who could realistically be available at some point, but also a player that is an upgrade at that position. Now, Zach Neto this past year for the Angels had himself a pretty awesome season. He had a 5.1 war, 129 hits, 26 home runs, a 257 batting average, 82 runs scored, 62 RBI’s, 26 stolen bases, and on base of 319, a 474 slug, an ops of 793, and an OPS plus of 117. So, the Los Angeles Angels are a disaster of an organization. And when someone like Zack Zach Neto comes around who is proven to be a potentially a 3030 home run or 3030 guy uh for the foreseeable future who’s only 24 years old as well, that’s a very coveted asset. And if the and if the Los Angeles Angels want to actually make the playoffs someday, want to be a respected organization, they’re going to either have to retain these players and hope they can carry them to the playoffs. But historically speaking, that we’ve seen with Mike Trout so far, that’s never the case. So, if that’s going to be the case, this team has to get better through prospects and through drafting. And if you’re able to sort of dangle Zach Neto on the trade market, you could probably command a pretty hefty price back in return uh for someone of Zach Neto’s caliber. So, as I touched on with Bob Bashett, a lot of the same principles apply here. The Yankees have to address the shortstop position and they have to improve on Anthony Vulp. I think it’s in their best interest to trade Anthony Vulp. They can’t bring him back for the 2026 season. It’s just going to be beneficial for both sides. give Vulp a fresh start somewhere else. And I think Zach Netto, who plays shortstop, as I mentioned before, can be a 3030 guy. Maybe you throw him into this Yankees ballpark, he can be maybe a 30, you know, 40 home run guy. Whatever the case may be, he’s only 24 years old. This would be an amazing move. And also too, just like Paul Ske, he has four years remaining under team control. So, it just makes way too much sense for the Yankees to go after a player of this uh magnitude. He plays a premium position. He’s proven that he can be, you know, a really solid offensive player. He’s only 24 years old as well and does have team control and is relatively affordable. And also too, the Angels aren’t very good, they should be looking to trade players like Zack Neto and get back prospects in return just to kind of expedite the rebuilding process. So I think if Zack Netto was ever dangled on the trade market, maybe it doesn’t happen this off season perhaps, but maybe in a couple years, he has to be a candidate for the Yankees because as I mentioned before, the market in France is a little bit thin at shortstop. So if you want to explore the market, uh the trade market, Zack Netto has to be at the top of that list for the Yankees in regards to a dream trade target in my opinion. So the next New York Yankees dream target for this off seasonason on my opinion is trading for Steven Quan of the Cleveland Guardians. So, out of all the players on this list, I guess besides Bo Bashette, I would say that Steven Quan is a very realistic option for this off season uh to be dealt uh by the Cleveland Guardians because there’s been a lot of speculation regarding his future in Cleveland. And also too, he is a free agent in a couple years from now. So, time’s kind of ticking a little bit in regards to giving this guy a contract extension or dealing him on the trade market. So, this past year for Steven Quan in Cleveland, a bit of a down season for him. Uh, he had a 3.7 war season, 170 hits, 11 home runs, a 272 average, 81 runs scored, 56 RBI’s, 21 stolen bases, and on base of 330, a .374 slug in OPS is 705, and an OPS plus of 96. So, Steven Quan, very talented player, very good outfielder, like he’s a three-time Gold Glove winner in his career. Offensively speaking as well, he can set the table at the top of the lineup. he can get on base at a solid clip. This past year was a bit of a down season for him. So, I can understand the perspective of the Guardians of wanting to hold on to him, hoping that he can bounce back in 2026 and then flipping them for a higher price tag. That could make some sense to me as well. But there’s been a lot of speculation regarding Steven Quan’s future in Cleveland and just sort of how the Guardians operate. They are a cheaper rant team historically speaking. So, giving Steven Quan a long-term extension might not be in the cards for them um at the end of the day. So, Steven Quan, he plays left field. He’s only 28 years old. He makes a lot of sense for this Yankees team. As I touched on a little bit earlier in this video, they have to bring back hopefully Cody Bellinger. If not, you know, maybe sign Kyle Tucker. Whatever the case may be, there could still be some holes in the Yankees outfield for the 2026 season. Like, potentially, like think about this. What if Aaron Judge is in right? What if they bring back Bell insurance center? And what if Steven Kan’s your full-time left fielder? Like, yeah, you might not get Kyle Tucker, but Steven Kan’s a cheaper option. It would allow them to maybe explore some other avenues of their team, spend some money in that regard. What if, let me throw this hypothetical out there. What if you trade for Steven Quan, you bring back Cody Bellinger, and you use that money that you’re not signing Kyle Tucker to to bring on Bo Bashette, and he’s your starting shortstop for 2026 and beyond. Would you be happy with that? I think if you’re a Yankees fan, you definitely would be. Plus, Steven Quan brings some good defense to the table. So, in regards to adding some more defense to the outfield, Steven Quan is one of the best players available, but he can also hit for contact, hit the hit towards the top of the lineup. You know, still 20 30 bases, whatever the case may be. He kind of brings an element to this Yankees team that is kind of missing in my personal opinion. So, I think Steven Quan is a realistic option for the Yankees, but also too a dream target for them in regards to the trade market. So, that is going to be it for this video. Thanks again for watching. As always, make sure to leave your thoughts down below regarding the New York Yankees. Who do you want them to trade for? Who do you want them to sign? Ninguno de eso va a juga con lo Yankees
No shot Acuna gets traded. Now if the bad luck happens again for them then maybe
As Yankee Fan I Would Like Bobby Whitt
Cashman would trade for Robert, being Ronald is the talented brother
Not sure WHY Skenes is coming up in dream trades with the Yankees. NEVER before has a player of Skenes caliber been traded with this much control. The Yankees don't have the Prospects to acquire Skenes. the Pirates would want premium Bats and the Yankees simply don't have what would be required to get him.
Braves not trading Ronald Acuña anywhere so you just might get that out of your brains
Robert acuna?
Skeenes would be great!
I get Acuna Jr for sure and hit him second and get one of those Japanese hitters to hit fourth.
The Yankees under Hal Steinbrenner are just mediocre. They'll win 90-94 wins, loose in the 1st round of the playoffs and ostrich Hal is happy.
He is coming to the mets he is go to play with his brothers 😊😊😊😊😊
We will give you ROBERT Acuna all day. Send us George Lombard Jr
