Man, I’m going to be dead before my Niners win another Lombardi trophy…

Frankly, I’m surprised we a fans aren’t also getting injured.
Especially if you suit up and play
I don’t even cheer/clap/react to anything happening during the games this season. Not to be a doomer but I’ve officially downgraded my SB/deep postseason expectations to just hoping for a positive record. It all feels so hollow this year.
I’m 40 YO, and yes, the 49ers won in 94-95, but that was too young to remember the win. Nobody in my family watched football, so I really wasn’t following the NFL at the time.
Since then, myself and all my family have become diehard 49ers fans. I started following the team in Steve Young’s last season, and since then I have followed their drafts, pre-season games, any and everything 49ers.
One of my buddies was in the same situation, and he passed away earlier this year. It hurts my heart knowing how close we were to winning it, and how he wanted nothing more than to see the 49ers get the 6th.
This team looks like it’s not competing this year, and even though 40 is still relatively young, I don’t know how much more seasons I have. I just want one in my adulthood. I want my son & daughter to have a story about watching the win the SB 49ers with their dad.
I hate seasons like this season, they will be competitive, but this is not a championship D, and I’m so fucking tired of injuries.
Just get one, just get 6.
I’m 43 and am very seriously considering this reality.
Sometimes it’s just not meant to be. There isn’t even anyone to get mad at. We were dealt a full house and got beat by a straight flush, just shitty luck.
We choked three times…the Ravens and the Chiefs, twice! Losing isn’t everything, but damn, I wanna go knowing we won a 6th, I’m 47 and every day isn’t a certainty, but one more…I’ll be happy…and for the new generation of fans…
Considering Kyle can’t guarantee anyway will be alive next Sunday, this rings very true.
That said, I might live long enough for a chance still (though, at times, even just a sneeze seem to do it these days 😛 ) but I’m just sad to see another complement of players going without one. First for me was the Willis, Gore, Navorro, Justin Smith, Staley core.. now it’s Kittle, Warner, CMC, Juice (though he has one), Kyle included going to finish their tenure with nothing to show for it. That is what really sucks.
Yeah honestly Shanahan is a great coach, one of the best in the league legitimately top 3 every single year and now we’ve got Purdy locked up long term, but his biggest weakness is how hard he goes in practices and it will always be the biggest thing holding us back to the point I hope *someone* in the FO above Kyle steps in and says “listen man, we NEED to tone down the level of practice” and possibly even cleaning house on the nepo training staff we have that promoted from within so our previous firing did nothing.
Football is already a violent sport filled with the most injuries but it’s even more egregious for our team because he’s too hard on the team which I figure is a necessity because he runs such a complex playbook that requires everyone does their job as perfectly as they can every single play. We’ve seen plenty of plays break down that would’ve been smash calls like I’m talking most open first down possible, an explosive, or a TD but because one or two people messed up their assignment instead it ended up being a -2 yard run or an incompletion/interception.
We’ll probably suffer from a bit more sloppiness in people not nailing their assignments so more busted plays, but if it means we can keep our players a little bit healthier than usual then I think that’s worth the trade off in my opinion. We don’t have to be the best offense in football to win games, but it becomes REALLY hard to go on a deep playoff run when you’re running on fumes and relying heavily on depth players that would otherwise be 2nd, 3rd or even further in the chart to start a full game for you. Playoff teams will 100% scheme around that and completely decimate your biggest weaknesses.
The older I got the more I realized it ain’t all that serious. I enjoy the wins and move on from the loses.
I swear we are a ticking time bomb
Me too!
My dog has diarrhea wearing kittle jersey
I have kidney stones and fatty liver
I have long since accepted they will not win a Super Bowl in my lifetime. (I was not old enough to remember the 1995 one)
So will every single player on the 53
I’d like to have been dead before they lost 3, and ruined our perfect 5-0 record
And we get to see LA win another championship, fun times indeed!
I just hope all these boys come back at the same level or stay in the same development trajectory.
To be completely honest, if the Seahawks win another lombardi before shanny does with this regime – ill be disappointed.
No hate to Shanny, Ive enjoyed his tenure – but it’ll be a gut punch knowing we had two opps and couldnt get the ring.
