Instant Reaction from Las Vegas as the Jaguars defeat the Raiders in OT

What a game and what a win for the Jacksonville Jaguars. You know, this franchise, ever since this new regime took over, has preached resiliency and overcoming adversity. Wow, did they have to do some of that on a Sunday afternoon here in Las Vegas. Starting with a terrible Trevor Lawrence interception in the first half and then a pretty poor defensive effort in the second half. But they get the job done. And in this league, that’s all that matters. It hides the warts. The Jaguars win 30 to 29. Devon Hamilton makes the biggest play of the game, denies a two-point conversion. And back to that offense, Trevor Travis ETN, Brian Thomas Jr., the offensive line, Bashel Tuton. They really stepped up and scored almost at will in the second half. And maybe that’s a sign of things to come. Of course, the Raiders aren’t a great football team, but could that be a sign of things to come in the second half where things get clicking a bit better on offense? Another thing to notice or two after the interception, the Jaguars didn’t turn the football over. Also, a bunch of penalties in the first half and even even the early third quarter, but that stopped and they played cleaner football down the stretch and were able to convert a bunch of third downs and a bunch of fourth downs as well. A Lawrence leap and a Devon Hamilton deflection end up getting it done at the end of the day. And what a massive win it was because if you now look at things in the AFC South, the Colts lost, Houston lost. Jags are now 5-3, a game and a half out of the Indianapolis Colts lead and now take a twogame lead on the Houston Texans. Who knows what’s up with CJ Strad. Jags hit the road to Houston next week and they’ll try to sweep the Texans here in 2025. It could have been a disaster. It wasn’t. The Jaguars get a huge win to start the second half of this season 30 to 29. Always on the road with the Jacksonville Jaguars this time in Las Vegas. I’m Brent Martin. Action Sports Jacks.
