Indianapolis Colts’ Daniel Jones Reacts to 5 Turnovers in Loss to Pittsburgh Steelers
Um so the turnovers today man that that’s the one that you guys have avoided just did that largely decide in this game. Yeah I think absolutely um yeah when you look at any game turnovers are a key and then uh to turn over as many times as we did today um we have a tough time winning. So um obviously that’s on that’s on me. I got to protect the ball better and make sure we’re giving ourselves a chance. Um I thought we did some good things at times but just you know turnovers and and some of those uh some of those things I got to I got to clean up, make sure we’re not hurting ourselves. When you look at the interceptions, Shane said two of them were tipped, but how do you see the three of them? Um yeah, and go back and look at the film and and uh and break them down. I think they’re all independent, I think. Um yeah, just just evaluate the decision, the process. Um what could have you know, what could have changed, what I could have done better. um you know, but uh certainly can’t have them. Can’t can’t afford to to put the ball in jeopardy uh those times. So, yeah, go back and and look at them on tape and it up on the side fumbles. I mean, is there anything a quarterback can do better? You said you can do better. I mean, is there much you can do on those? Well, I think I think fundamentally it’s always about keeping the ball tight and and securing it. um something that that we work and I I just got to make sure I I do a better job with that and then uh getting the ball out on time in the game. So I think that’s that’s always my job. Credit to them. They have a good pass rush and and guys who can um who can who can really rush. So um you know knowing that I got to I got to hit the ball. You guys scored on the on that first drive and went down the field. What do you think got or why it got so stagnant after that? Um I’m not sure. I think we’re not stagnant by his turnovers. Yeah, I think the turnovers were were probably the biggest thing that that put us down uh today. I thought we executed at times and and moved the ball at times and then and then hurt ourselves with with turnovers. So, um you know, I go back and look at it um see see what else went went on and what we could have done better, but um I think uh yeah, obviously turnovers play a big part of it. Dan, can you assess the second half and just team fought to the finish? just didn’t seem like even though a lot of things were going wrong that you hung it up in the middle of it and just kind of played until the end for whatever. Yeah, I mean I think uh I think we knew that you know about the team about the guys on the team and we got um a lot of guys you know who who will fight and and and uh and play until to the end of the game. So, um, obviously the, you know, didn’t didn’t go our way for most of the game, but we we fought and there’s something to that, but, um, obviously got to got to clean it up and play better. Did Did the Steelers do something different than you guys were expecting defensively today? Um, I wouldn’t say so. I mean, I think uh every team’s going to have some adjustments here and there and and uh you know, some things you prepare for are a little bit different, but I think that’s that’s that happens week to week uh around the league. So, um you know, I thought we were prepared from a game planning standpoint and and um ultimately it’s about us to to execute um you know, when we’re out there. What gives you confidence that the the way today went is just a onewe blip and not you know started something? Uh yeah, I mean I think um we got mature guys in the room. I think um you know we’re uh you know I’m sure we’ll be eager to correct the things that we didn’t do as well. Um but as far as our confidence level or you know who we believe we are as a team, I think that’s uh that’s strong and And you know, we’re uh we’re sure of that. We’re sure of who we are and um you know, we understand if you turn the ball over, that’s going to happen. So, um you know, and protected and and things are going well for us. So, we got we got to continue to to work that and I’m sure we will. With Germany coming up, do you flush this one any faster and move on? No, I think it’s a normal process uh tonight and tomorrow to review it and uh see where see where we could improve and then It’s going to Germany and and uh yeah, I don’t think that changes just with the with the longer play. What do you all think uh why do you think JT if he wasn’t able to get going today? Um well, I think we got behind was a big part of it, you know, in the second half and um you know, needed to throw it. Um but yeah, I don’t know. Credit credit to their defense. Uh they got they got good players over there. Good scheme. Um but yeah, I’m not sure. back in the game. Oh, actually one more on Megan Gonzalez, him being out there. I know he’s honorary captain today. Just the emotions of seeing your teammate play through something like that. Yeah, is a stud. Um stud, you know, and and uh on and off the field. He’s a he’s a great player, great dude, great teammate. Um and we’re all all here to support

He looks like he did when he played for the giants a double oo
And we only lost by 7 most other teams would be obliterated with this many turnovers. This loss is means nothing the colts are still a top 5 team
Let's go colts on to the next
It was smart by the coaching staff to completely abandon the RB leading the league in TDs and rushing yards because they have a weird obsession with trying to make Daniel Jones look like Josh Allen.
Turnovers!!!!!😡😡🤬
Intense Pittsburgh pass rush on nearly every pass play. Difficulty running the ball. Receivers not getting separation. Other than that the offense did some good things. I hope this was an anomaly. One bad game. I'm guessing the Colts will come back strong.
STICK WITH THE RUN
