The New York Knicks Just EXECUTED A Perfect GAMEPLAN Vs The Bulls…
The Knicks bounced back in a massive way Sunday over the Bulls after a disastrous loss on Friday. This team looked completely different. I mean, they actually played defense. They turned it into their offense. They moved the ball. Mike Brown leaned on his bench and it paid off in a big way. I mean, we’re talking about how many bench points? I think it was 46 bench points. I want to say the most last season of all last season was 52. Jordan Clarkson, Langer Shamut, Deuce McBride, these guys just stepped up and they hit shots and the Knicks won by 12. Now 500 on the season. Mike Brown called out the team for their lack of effort. Even if you look at the beginning of this game where male turned it over and nobody got back and he was yelling over at OG and yelling over at Mitch and then Mike Brown called a timeout. This team is really lacking chemistry which makes sense. a new coach. Of course, they’ve got to sort of figure out the scheme, but effort, I mean, you can’t really teach that, and that’s what the Knicks have been missing, and they showed it in this one. And you look at the shooting overall. So, the Knicks from three-point range, they’re going to finish 47.6%. Now, keep in mind, they missed their last seven threes of this game, and they still shot nearly 50%. Like, that’s remarkably impressive. Jordan Clarkson, it’s not even the fact that he went out there and he was six of 11 for 15 points. He played defense and he was out in the the passing lanes. Lander Shamut knocked down all three of his threes. He was a game high. Well, bench high, sorry, plus 20 cuz OG was a plus 22. Cat was a plus 12. He had easily his best game. I mean, 20 points and 15 rebounds. Cat even admitted that he was just too busy looking for what shot he should take and he shouldn’t take on Friday. And in this one, he let the game come to him. And you know, Cat’s on when he’s making his threes and he’s shooting from the logo. Like Cat literally was shot it from the logo and it was nothing but net and he hit a three earlier right before that. So good to see him get it going 15 rebounds. See the thing with Cat is he actually aggressively like relentlessly goes after boards. And it’s not even just to get the rebound. It’s just go out there and just dominate. And that’s when he’s at his best getting boards, knocking down threes, getting to the free throw line. I thought Cat looked awesome and he needs to keep that up and be aggressive cuz Cat honestly could be a top 10 player if he consistently just was aggressive. And tonight he was. I thought it was awesome. See, Muel Bridges, I mean, he has scored 20 plus in the last three games. In this one, he had 10 points, but the most important thing is the nine assist. It’s the fact that he had the ball moving and he set up his teammates. Josh Hart to me was really the most interesting player in this game. Brunson had 19 in the first quarter, but Hart looked awesome. And I called out Hart specifically last couple of games. And I’m not saying he’s been bad because he has facilitated well and he’s put in effort and he’s playing with no nerve damage in his hand with a splint. He’s never played with that before. Like cart is far from healthy, but he just hasn’t been good. But in this game, he really asserted himself. And the reason for that again is kind of the same thing with Cat is he let the game come to him and he overthink and he just did what he has done best and that’s attack the boards. Josh Hart had nine of them in 26 minutes. He had 14 points. He got downhill in transition. He attacked the basket. He finished over some tall, lengthy Bulls defenders. And I just loved it. I absolutely loved it. I also love what I saw out of, like I said, Lander Shamut and Deuce McBride just knocking down those threes. Shamat 33, Deuce 204, Tyler Koig didn’t play. See, the Knicks, they the kind of the thing with them is they would go to their bench early on and then they would shy away from it. This game was basically the kind of the complete opposite is they they just they leaned into the bench, but you know, Yavis played just two minutes. They didn’t play Col. They they didn’t play like Porty. The Knicks just like Mike Brown went with the guys he trusted, I guess, is what I’m trying to say. And although I’d like to see the bench expand, it hasn’t really shown us a reason to do that. Like the Knicks need to start winning games and they need to be at their best. And Brown is going with the nine guys that he trust cuz you know, two minutes in the first half doesn’t count. So, four guys off the bench, like that’s a nineman rotation, which Mike Brown did say coming into the season it would be a nine or 10 rotation. So, that shouldn’t come as a surprise. And the Knicks at their best. That’s going to be kind of the sweet spot. But Jaylen Brunson, he didn’t score in that second quarter. Correct me if I’m wrong. I don’t think he actually did. He had 19 points in the first and then he had what 12 points in the second half. You know, especially kind of late Brunson got going and just put this game away as he typically does as the closer. OG got an Obi 21 points. Immediately started off the game attacking the basket, posting up. Uh got out in transition in the passing lanes, defended the rim. See, OG is he’s just the guy on this team that you just you need to be on. Like he needs to knock down his open threes. He needs to attack and his defense is relied upon. Of course, he’s definitely one of the best defenders in basketball. I mean, all NBA type of defender, first team for sure. It’s like it’s cat and heart. Like everyone just needs to be aggressive and they need to attack and they just they need to show up consistently. Consistency is what Mike Brown preached coming into this game. He said the Knicks haven’t been consistent. Like first half trash against the Bulls on Friday. Second half they were pretty damn good. But if you don’t do it for two halves then it doesn’t matter cuz the Knicks lost, right? And you look at the Bucks in the first half I thought the Knicks were pretty good. Second half they were trash. So the Knicks they finally put together four good quarters of basketball. They dropped 34 34 37 and 23. And you know, the second quarter defense was really, really bad. But outside of that, like three very good quarters defensively against a Bulls team that they started off like not being able to miss. Like what did the Bulls shoot from three? Chicago, they ended up being Yeah. 17 to 40. Like 17 to 40. It’s tough to win, yet alone by 12 when a team is knocking down that many threes. But the Knicks did it because they just were better. Like they outshot the Bulls and they got more stops. And that’s that’s simply what it comes down to. But when you get 31 from Brunson, you get 20 and 21 from Kat and OG, and then the bench produces like they did, the Knicks are basically going to be impossible. See, the one thing that kind of sucked from this game is that Mitch injured his ankle. It wasn’t the one that he had work on. But 13 minutes for Mitch, five rebounds, two blocks. It just goes to show, and I I’ll say this basically every video, is I think Mitch is the second most impactful player on the entire team. Brunson’s first. And then second, I would put Mitch because he defends the rim, he rebounds, he sets screens. Mitch can not shoot a single time all game and he can still be the most dominant player. Uh that you look at the Pistons and you look at the Pacers and the Celtics, they all tried to foul Mitch so that he had to shoot free throws and he’d miss and they take him out. It’s very rare teams will do that just to kind of get a guy out of a game. And Joe Misoul doesn’t give a lot of guys credit, but he gave Mitch credit and said he didn’t want him out there because he’s just too dominant. I love Mitch, man. He’s also a homegrown player. I believe he’s been here for eight years. Correct me if I’m wrong. That’s like really impressive. Normally Knicks don’t really hang around for that long, but Mitch has and he’s the longest tender Nick, man, and he’s just a really good guy as well, man. Shout out to Mitch. Yeah, hopefully he’s okay. The Knicks didn’t really like need him to try to rush in or anything like that. And they’re going to be very precautious with Mitch because one, they need him to win a championship, but two, long-term wise, like more importantly, they want to make sure he can just stay healthy or even like close to being healthy because he struggled to do that in his career. Like Mitch has only played one full season in eight seasons. So yeah, I don’t mind that at all. Be careful. And Mitch did come back out there. So it’s not like he didn’t, but still only 13 minutes for the big guy. Did I miss anyone? Yeah, Clarkson was awesome, man. See, the thing with Clarkson is when he gets in a rhythm, he’s just he just he’s a microwave. He gets hot in a hurry and he just shoots with confidence and everyone sort of feeds off of that energy. It’s kind of crazy to think that Clarkson was a minus five cuz dude, he just could not miss. like six of 11 on volume is really impressive. Uh yeah, I think I touched upon everyone. Yeah, I did touch upon everyone, guys. So, that’s going to be the video. Let me know your guys’ thoughts on it. And we will do a film breakdown tomorrow. I don’t have the clips, so I’ll have to go and figure that out. But yeah, we’ll be back, man. Thank you guys so much. Yeah.

Mitch is gone bro as soon as the opportunity presents itself
Diawara has to get 15 mins
