Mike Vrabel Talks Patriots Trade Rumors, Latest Injury News + Falcons Accuse New England Of CHEATING

[Music] We got a newsfilled show for you guys today. We got some injury news involving the three guys that got hurt in yesterday’s game. The NFL trade deadline is just one day away, 400 p. p.m. Eastern time, by the time that the Patriots have to either be buyers or be sellers. And then they got accused of cheating by the Falcons head coach Raheem Morris. Clapgate. So we’re gonna talk all about that. Welcome in to Patriots today by chat sports. I am your host B Alper. And let’s start off with the injury news because I’m sure a lot of people were wondering about the three guys that left yesterday’s game and did not return. Well, the Patriots, they got updates on multiple players who were injured in their win against the Atlanta Falcons. There’s three guys in particular and uh still wondering on the uh injury update from Raandre Stevenson and his toe injury, but we have not gotten that yet from Mike Frabel, but we did get some on Kahan Booty, Christian Gonzalez, and I think Christian Ellis is going to be okay. But the NFL trade deadline literally tomorrow, people. And we will be live at 100 p.m. Eastern time. So, don’t miss out. Subscribe to the channel right now. And you also got to turn those noties on so it tells you exactly when we go live. Join the fam right now. So these are the three guys. I said them, but just in case you uh wanted to see get a little visual, you got Kahan Booty with a hamstring injury, Christian Ellis with a hip injury, and then Christian Gonzalez with a head injury. And Christian Gonzalez, he’s okay. Let’s just get let’s just put it out there. He’s okay. But uh Brendan McGar, he’s uh I think he’s a Falcons reporter and he was in the locker room or outside the locker room yesterday and saw after the game that Christian Ellis was waiting for his brother Kaden because you know Kaden and Christian they played each other for the first time to come out of the visitors locker room at Gillette Stadium and Christian was ruled out with a hip injury, but he says he feels good. So that’s pretty good. I expect him to be back next week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. But everybody’s eyes were on Christian Gonzalez who did not return to the game after getting fallen on after, let’s be honest, he got mossed by Drake London and fell on and went into concussion protocol. But you see from Andrew Callahan that he entered and he was cleared. Gristen Gonzalez said, “I’m good.” And he said, “If the Patriots would have had to give the ball back to Atlanta that he would have went back on the field.” So, thank goodness because we saw the Patriots defensive backs and their secondary kind of struggle while Christian Gonzalez was out those first three games. You need Gonzo at all cost. We saw yesterday they tried to throw on Gonzo on fourth down, a slant to Drake London. Didn’t even come close. Two pass breakups. He has been absolutely incredible. And here’s the full full stats from yesterday’s game against for Carlos A. Lopez. 32 coverage snaps, nine targets, four catches allowed, 67 yards allowed. But guess what? One of those catches was a 43 yard bomb. Three pass breakups, no touchdowns, and five total tackles. There’s no one better in the National Football League, people. I’m calling him the best quarterback in football. And the Patriots need him to be as healthy as he can, and he’s going to be the this Sunday against Tampa Bay. And then we got Kahan Booty. And this one was a little interesting because we know about how bad hamstrings can be. We saw Jaylen Hawkins deal with one. We’ve seen Christian Gonzalez deal with one. And Kahan Booty left yesterday’s game with a hammy. And Mike Frael in his press conference said he was dayto-day, but currently does not project to practice earlier this week, which will give Kyle Williams an an opportunity for expanded work. And he talked about how Williams has been prepared. But then Kan Booty did something a little interesting. I’ve never seen this before and I kind of found a little bit funny. He gave an injury update via Discord and said, “Just got the MRI results back. Only a grade one sprain, so it’s a good thing. Shouldn’t be out too long, but we’re getting back to a possibility. I play Sunday in Tampa. How I’m feeling, but if not, I’m good for the Jets on Thursday. Keep y’all updated. No, I’m working to get back stronger.” And the Patriots, they need Kahan Booty just like they need Christian Gonzalez. He has been incredible for the Pats this season. Kind of having a breakout year. 23 catches, 431 yards. He might be on pace for 1,900 yds at least, 18.7 yards per catch and five touchdowns. He is the guy that takes the top off the defense. The Drake May to Christian or Kahan Booty connection has been incredible. Seems like every single week they were connecting on a deep bomb, but he’s the only deep threat that you have. And if he is out, well, then you got Kyle Williams stepping up. And for Kyle Williams, it hasn’t been great and it’s kind of been a little bit of disappointment. He was pick 69, your third round pick coming out of Washington State, and people really thought that he was going to be that deep threat for the Patriots. Well, you could see his stats in 2025. He’s played in every game, but he hasn’t played much. Six targets this whole entire year, only two receptions for 20 yards at 10 10 yards per catch and zero touchdowns. And if you look at the snaps, he’s only been averaging 11.2 25 two five snaps per game before week nine cuz he played 30 last week or 30 yesterday because Kanan Booty got hurt and we know like Drake May and Kyle Williams they have not been on the same connection. There was a miscommunication on multiple multiple times between him and Drake May. It just seems like they’re not on the same page and they’re going to need to be on the same page. They have to be on the same page if they want to make this work because if Kahan Booty misses out on Sunday, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are a great team. You need someone to take the top off the defense and hopefully that was going to be Kahan Booty, but if it can’t be, it’s going to be Kyle Williams. But then the next question arised that I kind of thought of was, well, the Patriots could go out and trade for someone. We know they were kind of looking for a wide receiver throughout the uh last couple of weeks last couple of weeks for an extra wide receiver or if they could go out and get a running back. It doesn’t matter, but they need to do something. And if they want to play Kyle Williams, that’s okay. But you can also go out and trade for a wide receiver. We’re going to talk about Andrew Callahan’s trade trade news in a little bit. And they involve a wide receiver. But I’ll ask you guys, what do you want the Patriots to do? Do you want them to play Kyle Williams or do you want them to trade for a wide receiver? Type K for Kyle or type T for trade. Coming up, we got the rest of the trade news and then of course Clapgate. But before we do that, I got to tell you about our sponsor of today’s show, and that is Prize Picks. The hard-hitting football action is even better with Prize Picks. The weather might be changing, but the feeling of being right never gets old. So keep the season rolling on Prize Picks by getting $50 instantly in lineups when you play your first $5. Prize picks is it to play. Just pick more or less on two to six player stat projections. And if your picks are right, you could cash in. Did you know Prize Picks invented the flex play? Football, basketball, hockey, does not matter. Esports, it’s all of them. But you got to download the app today and use code cls to get $50 in lineups after you play your first $5 lineup. That’s code cls to get $50 in lineups after you play your first $5 lineup. Prize picks. It’s good to be right. All right, talking about trades. Trade deadline once again is at 400 p.m. Eastern time on Tuesday. And Mike Fel went to the podium today to talk about what he does on his usual Monday press conference. And he did not give a definitive answer to trades if the Patriots were going to be buyers, sellers, or what they were going to do. It was kind of just a big nothing burger. Here’s what he said. What happens is personnel staff makes calls and they have all conversations as this thing leads up to it. I just say continue to do our due diligence about what those may be and what they look like and then they make a decision that we think is best for us. That’s what I hope that we do until I hear otherwise. We’ll have conversations this afternoon. Nothing new to report. Like I said, a big nothing burger, but I’ve talked about many times on this channel throughout the last couple of weeks as we got closer to the trade deadline that these are the biggest Patriots needs. Edge rusher, running back, safety now that you got rid of Kyle Duggar. You did sign John Saunders, but he’s an undrafted free agent. And I’ll ask wide receiver now that Kahan Booty’s got dealing with the hamstring injury maybe. But we do know that the Patriots aren’t going to be big spenders. There was a big rumor that the Bengals are still looking for a first round pick for Trey Hendrickson. I don’t think the Patriots are going to do that. They’re looking for long-term opportunities, long-term type of players. So, I think that they’re looking further down the road and not just right in front of them. And then Andrew Callahan, he came out with this article of the Boston Herald and said what the Patriots could do heading into the trade deadline. And he said, “Patriots will pull their bats out, but I don’t expect them to swing for the fences ahead of Tuesday’s deadline. The names to know are lower level players like Titans defensive end Ardan Key. Oh, guess we’ve been talking about that for weeks. Uh me possible Saints wide out Rasheed Shahed, Giants running back Devil Singleary and others. And you know how much I’ve talked about how I want Ardan Key to be on this team for a depth piece because the Patriots, they’ve only gotten like two sacks and six QB hits, six pressures in the last two weeks. You need some depth at the edge position. But if you can go out and get Rasheed Shahid, the need for speed, I hope uh our Saints host Traces out there, give it to me literally right now. And if it takes a fourth round pick or a third round pick, you do that in a heartbeat. You do it in a heartbeat. But we’ll see what happens once the trade deadline happens on tomorrow. All right, let’s talk about our last topic of discussion today. And this just made me think the Patriots are back, baby. Because they’re accused of cheating. When you know the Patriots are getting accused of cheating, you know that they are good again. That they are people are threatened by how good that we are. So what did they get accused of, Brett? Well, yesterday’s game, we know that Michael Penn Jr. was called for an intentional grounding call, which got him to third and 20, and then they later punted on fourth and 20. Dumb, dumb decision. Raheem Morris claimed that the Patriots simulated Michael Pennock’s claps which caused an early snap that led to an intentional grounding call. They were clapping which simulated our snap count. That is not the right P. There we go. Simulated our snap. Got us to snap the ball early and that’s why we the ball was snapped early. And if we know you’re not allowed to do that in the NFL and it’s a 15- yard penalty. Well, if you look at this picture, this is right before the play was snapped. You could see everybody there on the line of scrimmage. No one’s clapping. Funny. But if you look at your top left type top left corner of your screen, Jaylen Hawkins is the one that’s clapping. And he’s clapping telling someone, “Hey, get back. Get back. You need to get back into coverage. Get ready for this play.” Hawkins is clapping 20 yards back. If that simulated the snap count, check the center of the Falcons for superhering. 20 yards back. If I go like this, I doubt you could hear it with a loud ass crowd at Gillette Stadium because obviously you’re focused on getting the snap off. If you could see a safety or hear a safety, that is unbelievable. And I wanted to say, like I said yesterday during the watch party, I respect the Falcons for playing a great game. They played really good and they’re a good team. But it’s absolutely pathetic and comical that the head coach actually said that. Oh, they were simulating our snap count. Should have been a penalty. Get over yourself for he Morris. Grow up. Take accountability for not making the right decisions. Come on. You’re going to talk about how you didn’t punt on fourth and or how you punted on fourth and 20 with two timeouts. Take accountability. And then of course he did end up walking it back, which is hilarious to say because he knew that he was like, “Oh man, I’m in the wrong. This is bad. This is real bad.” But of course, the Patriots are good again and they’re getting accused of cheating. What’s new? What’s new? So, I’ll ask you guys, are we officially back? Are we officially back 7 to2? Everybody’s threatened. So, go down in the comments if the Patriots are back. Yes or no. Don’t forget, we’ll be live tomorrow for the NFL trade deadline at 1:00 Eastern time. So, hit that sub button. Don’t forget to turn those noties on. And as always, let’s go Pats. [Music]

  1. And as far as the Patriots trading for Trey Hendrickson , he was drafted in either the 2nd or 3rd round in the NFL draft in 2017, he's been a player for 8 seasons in the NFL already , and I can really care less how good he is, he is not worth giving up an NFL 1st round draft pick for, and I really don't care what anybody says the guy is not worth a 1st round pick, for a guy that has been playing in the NFL that long and is not a good quarterback in the NFL it's absolutely 💯 % crazy 🤪 to give up a 1st round draft pick for…🤔🤨

  2. Morris trying to keep his job after a shit team like the Dolphins dismantled them at their own home stadium last week and he knows another loss would further cement him as a coach on the bubble so he got desperate for attention and claimed this bullshit to try and save his ass somehow
