Charlotte Hornets Might Have Won The 2025 NBA Draft
The Charlotte Hornets might come away as the biggest winner from the 2025 NBA draft as they hit it out of the park on basically all their picks. Right now, Khan Canipple, Ryan Kulk, Briner, and Seion James are currently top 10 at minutes per game in the rookies from the draft. And they are honestly all really efficient with the minutes they’ve gotten. Canipple and Krpter averaging close to 30 minutes a game. Seion a little bit over 20 minutes. But the thing is, they have all three started in a game together, which is kind of crazy to start three rookies, but it’s actually been pretty effective for the Hornets if I’m being honest. You know, to start things off, Cona Nipple with the fourth pick may be questionable to a lot of people, but he has actually been really, really good for the Hornets, averaging 14 and five, shooting 43% from three on seven attempts. 43% from three on seven attempts is really, really good. He has showed a lot of poise early on. His defense also hasn’t been as bad as a lot of people thought and he usually just makes the right play. Overall, he’s been a really nice piece alongside LaMelo Ball knocking down his threes. He’s been really, really good. And then you got Ryan Kulkbrinter who is out there averaging nine and seven and two blocks a game. He’s currently third in the league in blocks per game. Really good protecting the rim, especially as of late. you know, he started off a little slow, but he’s protecting the rim at a high level now. Not to mention, the guy is shooting 81% from the field. 81% from the field. Granted, you know, he might not have taken, you know, a ton of shots yet, but to shoot that high of a clip is just really good, especially when you have guys out here just missing layups. He’s been really good around the rim. And then Seion James is probably the biggest surprise of them all. Early second round pick, maybe went higher than a lot of people had. He’s averaging nine points and three rebounds, shooting 72% from three. Only two and a half attempts a game, but he’s shooting a really good clip right now. His defense has also looked really good. So, those all three are just absolute hits for the Hornets. Liam McNeely hasn’t really played a ton. Hasn’t been that spectacular, but outside of him, the Hornets look like they got three really good players out of the draft. You know, they’re a team that really needs to change their culture around and these three rookies are doing it for them. Honk Canipple, Ryan Kulbrurner, and Seion James are all really hooping right now and hopefully they can stay consistent throughout the
