  1. holy jesus is that real

“We were a nothing podcast but we got the most social media interaction ever when we tried to come back and the actual players told us to fuck the fuck off”

  2. This whole story is weird to me. I don’t understand why fans of the team would want to deter other people from having a podcast about them it seems unnecessarily dickish and gatekeepy

  3. Pretty easy decision really. I doubt they were making money off the podcast to begin with.

  4. Maybe if you run a podcast specifically about one team, a team that has been bad for nearly a decade, and you publicly announce to everyone that the team isn’t good enough to waste your time, maybe, just maybe, it’s a bad idea to try and come back the very second they taste some success. It is quite literally being a fair weather fan for your own personal gain. Sorry not sorry.

  5. This is great news, if they did start back up, I was gonna create a podcast called “Fuck MeowMix”

  6. You know, if they phrased it like:

    >”Due to social obligations out of our control, we unfortunately have to suspend operations. Keep Pounding!”

their return would be a small victory for their fans and the Panthers community in general. The majority would not have noticed they were gone and came back, actually.

Instead they had to phrase it like “this team is no longer worth our time” trying to squeeze that very last 15 minutes of fame out of a dying panther on the side of the road.

So now we clown on them. Not sure what they expected, honestly. Probably for the team to stay bad and maybe have a small interview on Pat McAfee or something.

  7. I’m honestly glad a lot of players publicly let it be known that we don’t want them back.

Some people are gonna look at this like bullying or overreacting but they didn’t have to make a post basically saying the team is so trash it isn’t worth our time. It wouldn’t have been as bad if it didn’t get national media attention but they could’ve just announced that they are busy with life and are taking a break instead of trashing the team to get attention.

  8. These guys claim to be fans since 1993. If that was the case, a 42-13 loss in 2025 shouldn’t have been a deal breaker if they endured the entirety of the 2001, 2010, and 2023 seasons. Weirdos.

  9. I’m with everyone else that says they should stay gone for their little 5 seconds of fame. It’s like the kid on the playground (just aged myself there) who takes his ball and goes home, only to try and come back and play when the other kids find another ball and keep playing. As most of the rest stated, say that your taking personal time because it’s a lot of work doing the podcast and leave it at that, then, no one would be as sour as they are now that your trying to come back.

  10. They really fumbled this. Can’t just stop your podcast due to us sucking and then turn around and restart it when we start winning. I would have respected it if they had stopped at least until next season and then came back. But unfortunately it’s clear they are fair weather fans.

  11. Players getting butthurt they performed like shit for almost a decade, podcasters took a break and now they’re upset they’re coming back. Yikes. We may have found a tiny bit of success but this team still has a losing culture.

  12. A lot of really good Panthers podcasts have come and gone. We had a great time doing the Supercast. Life just got in the way of a lot of them. Now everybody has a podcast these days.

  13. IIRC correctly there was another panthers YouTuber back in the day name shellitronn who used to cover us religiously but he turned out to be fair weather fan in the long run as well.

  14. Course ppl starting to come back now that we have a little bit of hope I been watching for every single year lose or win ups and downs it sucks but the real ones know. Do i turn the game off sometimes if we getting the crap beat out of us yea i do but i still come back the next week lol.

  15. Who listened to them to begin with? I honestly had never heard of this podcast before they stopped it because they thought the team sucked. Lol

  16. They still fishing for engagement, then?

That’s all this was, in the end. A podcast like thirty people total ever listened to tried to announce their departure and make a scene.

Now that they got- frankly undeserved- attention, they want to come back because the team’s above .500.

So far as marketing strategies go? Hell with that.
