Renck: Told by a source that candidates might have balked at being restricted in personnel moves. There has been talk in industry that Rockies don’t want to overhaul front office until there is a new labor agreement in place

  1. I’m not surprised. I made a critical error by having an ounce of optimism at them looking ‘outside the organization.’ I’m just so sad about this team that I’ve loved since I was 9. I don’t think I’m going to watch them next year, I just can’t do it anymore

  2. I said this for years, they are happy with us losing 100+ games…they should just take the team from Denver and end the suffering

  3. What a joke of a franchise, the worst thing is they give you a sliver of hope and then pull the ball away at the last second. F this franchise and its ass backwards perspective

  4. Isn’t now the perfect time to be overhauling the front office so we’re prepared to deal with the new labor agreement??? They could plan for different outcomes and hit the ground running???

Or just continue doing things the way we’ve been doing for 20 years and pray we get lucky on some random prospects to get above .500 sometime before 2040?

  5. Was the offer, “Your the GM but not in charge, let’s ask my dad.”? I bet they lowballed them too. What a bunch of dipshits.

  6. Remember it was Monfort who suggested a spending/salary cap that would include front office, analytics, scouting, and presumably laundry.

That’s what he is pushing for in the next labor agreement, because he can’t possibly compete with owners that, you know, care and try a little.
