Had a phenomenal year but kinda surprised Ramirez got the choice over Bobby, damn
Nor is Hunter Renfroe. I’m beginning to think this whole thing is rigged
Neither is José Ramírez, really.
Why would he have been?
I mean I love Bobby but this was not an mvp season by him
Does it matter? It’s gonna be between Judge and Raleigh no matter who the 3rd choice is
He had a good year but he wasn’t that spectacular to beat out Judge or Raleigh, with their raw numbers. Ramirez is listed here only because they need three people, not because he has a chance. Ramirez has slightly better stats mostly across the board (OPS+ of 137 vs 136, 44 vs 38 SB, 30 vs 23 HR, slugging .503 vs .501) so it’s not really a huge insult to put him out there. Witt’s big advantage is stellar defense.
Let’s hope it just pisses Bobby off so he comes back even better next season.
Didn’t deserve to be this year honestly
Rigged
Guardians fan coming in peace. I love your fan base, your stadium, Bobby, Salvy, etc. Can’t say a bad thing about KC.
You have to watch the Guardians’ offense for an entire season to truly understand why Jose got the nod here over Bobby. Our lineup is regularly Jose Ramirez, seven dudes who we may or may not have pulled from the Corner Bar before the game and Austin Hedges, man of the vibes (and .071 batting average).
Y’all have some decent to great hitters and field a competitive lineup every night. Without Jose we’d be fighting the White Sox for the basement.
All of that said, here’s hoping Bobby and Jose are the top two next year. 2026 can’t get here soon enough.
As much as award voting has improved, there’s still a nod given to a good story and a playoff berth. Royals and Witt took a step back compared to last year and Ramirez was the only thing going for Cleveland for much of the season and then they had their late season run to take the division.
Don’t feel like this is really a slight or anything to be up in arms about.
No, not this year but he did win his second Golden Glove award! Mikail Garcia also won his first Golden Glove.
