Tom Osborn of San Antonio Express-News has an even more optimistic report of Dylan Harper’s calf injury

  1. Multiple weeks may just be 2 weeks (coping but let me dream), also timestamp is Aussie time i realise that may confuse some

  2. Guessing Tom meant to say tendon damage? e.g. achilles tendon. Didn’t see many people expecting ligament damage.

  3. spurs don’t give a shit about time, they will priorize their players’ health over anything, even wins. get well soon and fully my young goat!

  4. This is good news. I hope he’s back in 2-4 weeks and Fox will be bedded in. Dylan will slot right into the backup PG position and we’ll have a good PG on the floor at all times

  5. Man keep this guy out as long as we can. We have Fox returning.

We’ll need to ensure his strain is managed properly.

  6. Spurs have a very light December: only 6 games the first 3 weeks. That’s less dense than the current season so far. Missing over a month wouldn’t be the worst thing, especially if he gets a lot of rest and not many games missed.

Still will play about 80% of the season if he waits until the 3rd week of December to make it back. Literally a blip on a rookie’s progress, especially considering how young he is. Will still be 19 by the time he comes back.

Plus he’s coming off the bench anyway and gets to learn more on the sideline which is good for a high BBIQ player like him.

  7. Who’s more accurate here: Shams or Orsborn? Shams mentioning multiple weeks suggest it’s serious albeit not catastrophic. To me, it seems Orsborn is suggesting it might be good within 2 weeks.

Knowing the spurs, they’ll probably treat the severity like in the shams report and hold him out for this entire month anyway

  8. I don’t even expect Harper to be back until late December tbh, regardless of severity
