They’re courageous in their play, and they exhibit the intangible. Buffalo’s goal has suddenly tightened the gap here in period number three. Well, they’re within one, James, and it’s not enough right now. So, they’re going to have to continue to counter transition quickly, but most importantly, retrieve the puck. That is critical to be able to possess it. Lukan has opted to hang on to the puck for a face off. This goalie, he deserves a highlight pack. I mean, he’s made many huge saves tonight that has given his team momentum. And it’s about the timeliness of a save to sort of reset the momentum in a game and give your team an opportunity to win. And that’s exactly what he’s done between the pipes tonight, James. Buffalo’s played well tonight, but they still trail here early in this third period despite leading in the shot department. It means you get yourself in front of that net, whether it’s a double stack, a double screen, whatever you can do so that the goalender can’t find the puck. And he couldn’t. As he drops to that butterfly, he tries to make himself as big as possible, but he can’t catch up to the puck. Centers glide into the dots. We’re ready to get things back going again. Buffalo’s come up with possession after that neutral zone draw. The Sabres look to start the transition game and that play broken up. Toronto’s got a hold of the puck. You do everything to get to the right position. You put yourself in a great A scoring area and then you miss. That’s frustrating. And that shot gets caught in traffic. It’s been a result of hard work, good positioning, and the ability to counterattack. And that’s a quite a punch to get them back at evens. Here in this shootout, this is why they practice it a lot of the time post practice. James, goenders want work on this. So do shooters. He does a great job of anticipating to make that save. Stopped. Easy breezy lemon squeezy. You sound like my youngest child’s crisscross applesauce there. And guess what? The goalender, he didn’t get tangled up at all. He was ready for that. This might be turning into a save out instead of a shootout. Yeah. I mean, this is one v one against the goender. And he’s challenging at the top of his crease, but most importantly, he’s tracking and anticipating the next shoot. I don’t think the goalender knew where it was going and I also don’t think he knew where it was going, James, because he cradled that puck and he just put it to the net on his back end. What a game. What an atmosphere.
