I’m Claudia Bellafato and for the next hour we have you covered with all the action for tonight. Hitting the hardwood, the ice, and of course, Monday Night Football. Let’s start there. The Cardinals visiting Jerry’s World. The Cowboys undefeated at home facing a backup quarterback and Jacobe Brassette making his third straight start in for an injured Kyler Murray. With that, we bring in CBS Cowboys reporter Garrett Podell out there in Dallas. Garrett, you and I were talking off camera, just upsetting for this Dallas team. The offense is rolling, but the defense has been a problem from the jump, leading them to just a three- win season through nine weeks. What do you see as the biggest reason for these defensive struggles? So, hey, Claudia, nice to join you here from Jerry World. Yeah, I would say the biggest reason for the defensive struggles is kind of an inongruence between what new defensive coordinator Matt Eberloose is trying to do with his zones heavy scheme and the personnel that Dallas has on the field. I mean, you have Trayvon Diggs, well, he’s now on IR, but Don Bland, who was the NFL’s interceptions leader just a few years ago in 2023. And when he was doing that, and when Trayvon Diggs led the NFL in interceptions in 2021, Dan Quinn was the defensive coordinator. and they played man coverage at a top five rate in the entire league during those years with Quinn. Now Quinn is in Washington. They had Mike Zimmer a year ago. He kind of maintained a lot of the same stuff from Quinn. Eberlu came in and through the first few weeks of the season, Dallas led the NFL in zone coverage rate which requires a lot of communication and a lot of kind of feel versus man. you can kind of just focus on the person in front of you versus so and now their sixth highest zone coverage rate in the league and that really just hasn’t worked out well for Dallas and I’ve spoken to Bland over the course of the season and he’s talked about how man has just really fit a lot better and you know with all the pieces coming in and out of this secondary there’s been a lot of injuries back there this season especially the safety spot it’s a lot easier to play man so uh I would say scheme and then obviously missing an allp pro and Micah Parsons up front really hurts this defense And it sounds like lack of communication just across the board. Communication could help any NFL team, specifically this Dallas squad, though. You wrote a story last week, Garrett, about head coach Brian Shottenheimr focusing in on the defensive struggles because it is a glaring weakness. What does that approach look like for him and what changes has he made and does he plan to make? Yeah, that’s a great question, Claudia, and I would say that’s a shift from the beginning of the season. He’s the team’s head coach in his first season and the offensive play caller. So, obviously, he has a lot on his plate with that side of the ball, but over the last couple of weeks, he started coming into defensive meeting rooms and uh really just giving his feedback from an offensive perspective. When he actually came to Dallas as an assistant under Mike McCarthy in 2022, he was in a consultant role. And what that role had him doing is what he’s doing now, which is sitting in watching film with the defense and giving his uh feedback from an offensive play caller’s perspective. And that’s something when I spoke to Oso Diggizu, a defensive tackle in the locker room this week, he said he welcomed it. And uh they refused to divulge a ton of specifics, but what Shanheimer did say is he’s trying to get the defense to be looking at less. He said he feels like, which alluding back to the communications component we spoke about a little earlier with the zone coverage, he’s trying to simplify what guys are looking at, particularly in the run game so they can get their run fits, be in better position, uh, their bottom five run defense and bottom five pass defense. So, he’s just trying to simplify some things, I think, and maybe that will help with the communication and executing Ibra Flu’s zone at a slightly higher level. Slightly the key word there. Uh, we should give some credit though to Dak Prescott who is leading the number two scoring offense in football. However, you need to limit points in order to win games and they have the second worst scoring defense. So, how much faith do you have in the offense to continuously put up enough points to really compensate for the team’s defensive efforts? I mean, I think it’s fair to have plenty of faith in the offense. I mean, entering this week before all the games were played, uh, Prescott was top five in the NFL in both passing yards and passing touchdowns. Devonte Williams remains fifth in the NFL in rushing yards this season. George Pickkins, he’s fourth in the NFL in receiving yards. And this is the first time Dallas’s offense has had a trio in receiving yards, rushing yards, and passing yards. all in the top five at this point in the season entering week nine since their Super Bowl winning trio of Troy Aman, EMTT Smith, and Michael Irvin. So, there’s obviously plenty of faith in what Shanheimimer’s doing and with the offensive play calling. He was the OC. Didn’t call plays before, but has been around. So, Dak has a high level of comfort with him and what he they both call the play caller’s purpose, the why behind why they’re calling certain plays. So, Dallas has plenty of faith internally about that offense. But, uh, so I would say they believe that their offense is good enough to win, which is why, uh, Jerry Jones may or may not be working the phones right now to see who he can bring in ahead of tomorrow’s 400 p.m. Eastern trade deadline. Well, that’s where I want to go with this. I’m curious how much you think the result of tonight’s game changes their approach to the deadline. We’re assuming they’re going to be buyers since you have the offense moving right now, but how much do you think is on the line with a win or a loss tonight? Well, Claudia, it’s interesting because Jerry Jones actually got on SiriusXM this morning from Texas Live, which is a place where we’ve got bars and restaurants just across the street from where I’m sitting right now. And he said he had a couple trades in the works right now. And that that player, if he’s able to execute a deal, would be somebody who could come in immediately and get acclimated to the team. Dallas does have a buy in week 10, so they have a week off to get whoever they potentially could bring in uh up to speed with what they’re doing. Um, so I wouldn’t say necessarily that this game has a huge impact on what they’re going to do at the deadline because I think Jerry Jones is looking around. He’s seeing the Green Bay Packers lost yesterday to the Carolina Panthers. They were the NFC’s number one seed. Uh, the Philadelphia Eagles are currently the NFC’s number one seed in week one. They uh took them down to the final possession. And the Detroit Lions, who are also an NFC favorite, uh, they lost yesterday to JJ McCarthy coming off an injury in Detroit. So, I would say Dallas is looking around saying, “Look, a lot of teams are losing that are quote unquote favorites. We have the number two scoring offense as we’ve touched on. Let’s see what we can get at the deadline.” And so, it’ll be interesting. I’ll speak to Jerry Jones postgame. So, it’ll be one thing to see really how much this really does impact. I don’t think it will. I think Jerry’s going to be working the phone. He did trade a fourth round pick for wide receiver Jonathan Mingo at the deadline last year. So, probably looking to part with a mid-round pick once again this year. One thing Jerry’s gonna do is find a microphone. So, thank you, Jerry, for that transparency. And Garrett, thank you. Enjoy the game out there in Jerry’s world. A reminder to keep it locked in on CBS Sports HQ for all things NFL. We’ve got the latest news, analysis, fantasy advice, highlights, and more. But you can always count on Sundays with the NFL on CBS and Paramount Plus. Welcome back to Prime Time Pregame. Let’s take a look at the most notable props for tonight’s Monday night football matchup. You see Jacobe Reset up there just under 240. Javvante Williams 65 in the hook. Jake Ferguson had a very quiet national tight end day. So we’ll see how he bounces back. And with that we bring in our very good friend Alex Propstar Salesnik. Alex Dak Prescott Jacobe Brassette tonight. Who stands out to you in terms of some value for a passing prop? I’m fired up for this game Claudia. Yeah, it’s actually Dak Pascott. I’m going to go under 25 and a half completions. Claudia, this is just a gargantuan number for anyone. Even a a player like Dak who throws the ball a ton. He’s highly efficient as well. Uh but this is just a rare number. You rarely see a completion number this high. Even for some of the higher numbers, let’s say a Patrick Mahomes who obviously plays in a high volume passing attack, Justin Herbert, uh these typically don’t go over 23 and a half. So, this is kind of a principal play for me. Uh, just getting such a big line. I also look at uh the Cardinals as an opponent. I think Dallas will be balanced in this matchup. I think in order to eclipse this number, it would really require the Cardinals to push Dallas uh and Dallas likely having to play from behind with the Cardinals having a d a double- digit lead. I think that’s unlikely all things considered. I just think it’s a very tall order and a huge number for Dak here. Yeah. again and one that he hasn’t hit in four straight weeks. So, I tend to agree with you. As as exciting and explosive as this offense has been, maybe it’s a tight game, he still is not hitting that number. So, I tend to agree on the under under. I’m curious what you think that when it comes to receivers. I mentioned Jake Ferguson had a goose egg last week. I think he bounces back. I’m high on Trey McBride. So, I’m looking at the tight ends. Who are you looking at? I like Jake Ferguson, Trey McBride quite a bit, but Z Jones I’ve had my eye on. I like him to go over here. 19 and a half receiving yards uh since Jacobe Brrisette uh took over as the starting quarterback for this team. He’s played very well and Z Jones has been a major beneficiary over the last two games that Brassette has started. Z Jones 10 targets, seven receptions uh for just shy of 150 yards. So, he’s producing uh a lot and there seems to be a really strong veteran connection between them as well. PFF has a matchup tool uh that they actually said that Z Jones matchup that he’s most likely to be facing this week was the best of not every every receiver in this game, but the best of any receiver this week. So, it looks like he’s got a really good matchup. We’re playing against a Cowboys pass defense that’s 32nd in EPA per dropback, 31st in success rate. We’ve got a 53 and a half point total. Uh and there should be plenty of passing volume. So, I always talk about when we talk about props, getting a cheap piece. This is a prime example of that. I’m cool as a Jones going off as long as Trey McBride does cuz I’m going to go with little tight end parlay. Like I said, five catches for each of the tight ends. Jake Ferguson needs a big bounceback spot and he should because the Cardinals have been very bad against tight ends, allowing the second most targets over nine a game, almost seven catches. So, five for him and then five for Trey McBride. And he’s never had fewer than five. He was all angry because it was national tight end week last week. He hit a buy. So he’s all ready to go. And he is the safety blanket for Jacobe Brassette. 24 targets over the last two games with him. 18 catches. So five for each of the tight ends. Nice little parlay. You get around even money. Let’s talk rushing now. Dallas allowing almost 150 rush yards a game. Third most in the league. Now unfortunately Arizona is down their top two running backs, Alex. So, I’m curious what player you’re looking at for rushing here. Yeah, I’m gonna attack the Dallas running back, Javvante Williams. Going to go under on his rushing line. Javvante Williams is having a nice season. I thought that was kind of unexpected heading into the year. Didn’t really know what this Dallas backfield would be, but this is such a uh explosive offense that I think a lot of running backs would be successful here. And Williams has uh taken what’s been given to him or what’s been blocked for him. They certainly played well, but looking at this Cardinals defense, there is significant pass funnel. Their run defense is average to maybe slightly above average. As a result, teams tend to go uh very pass heavy against them. And looking at Javvante Williams, he’s really never handled the full workload of an entire season. So, I’m starting to see him wear down a little bit in my opinion. So, I’m going to take a under here on his rushing. I’m not sure if the volume will be there for him. Yeah, I tend to agree. I also think it’s Yeah, the game script. It’s going to be a tight back and forth. Not a ton of volume opportunities there. Let’s talk about touchdown. I’m cheating because I’m looking to see my producer gave it to me. Jake Ferguson. Let’s go, Alex. Talk to me. I love Jake Ferguson here. You mentioned uh the dud, the goose egg from last week. Jake Ferguson is one of the best red zone weapons in the NFL since he’s basically uh been in the league. He has just uh been a vacuum for red zone targets. When Dak is in the red zone, he targets uh Jake Ferguson who’s just excellent in those tight spaces. Uh he perennially leads the NFL at red zone targets, not just for tight ends typically, but for all pass catchers. So, anytime you can find him uh with touchdown props when you have a 53 and a half point total, I like his first touchdown look, which you can get to close to 9 to1 odds. His anytime touchdown look uh as well, I think is a really good look, but I think this is definitely a potential spike week for Ferguson here. Maybe I hit too many parlays this weekend, but I’m just thinking parlays. I have my tight end parlay and now I just want to add a touchdown for each cuz I was going to say Trey McBride. I didn’t realize he was second in red zone targets behind only Devonte Adams. He is playing and putting numbers up like a true wide receiver. So, I’m gonna go with the tight ends all day. I’m going to take your Jake Ferguson touchdown, my Trey McBride. I’m going to throw it all together. And Alex, I’m going to wish you the best of luck tonight on all of your plays. Oh, Tony, I think it hit the ground. But you can always count on Sundays with the NFL on CBS and Paramount Plus. It’s a Monday night full of action. Not just Monday Night Football, but men’s college hoops is back. At 7 Eastern, the defending champ Florida Gator host Arizona in their season opener. And in the NHL, the NBA both underway at 7:30 said the kid and the Penguins wrap up a four-game road trip against the Leafs. And then Cooper Flag and the Mavs visit Kevin Durant’s Rockets with an 8 Eastern tip off. And with that, we bring in our friend Mike McCclur. Mike, let’s start in the hardwood. The one-win Wizards, a doubledigit road dog taking on the Knicks. Now, Chris Middleton ruled out for them. You’re looking at their team total. Yeah, Cody, I’m going to go team total under here. I went under 111 and a half at minus 120. You can find 110 and 1 halfs or 112s depending on the price point that you want to pay. But for me, it’s under 111 12 minus 120. Washington, as you mentioned, struggled already to start this season down to 28th in terms of that offensive rating. Chris Middleton just ruled out with the elbow injury. Certainly going to hurt that offensive rating here. To me, this projects as a comfortable win for the New York Knicks. I think they’re going to allow not many opportunities here for Washington. You look at the strength of schedule they have played when you see teams like the Cavs and the Celtics here. This is a much easier task against Washington. So, I’m going to fade that 112th point here for the Washington Wizards. Yeah, I think the only over I’d really go with them is on Keshan George because he’s been absolutely balling out that secondyear player, 18 points a game. But of course, you take any player out of that equation, which you’re doing with Chris Middleton, certainly hurts that squad. So, I’m with you on the under there. Very curious where you’re going here, though. College Hoops, it’s back and you’re starting the season strong by fading the defending national champs, which I understand they lost their top three scorers to the NBA draft, but tell me why else we should be fading them here. You know, Claudia, I like both of these teams this year to be honest with you. We’re talking about Arizona and Florida, of course. Uh, this is a true neutral sight game kind of in Vegas, a lot closer for Arizona, but when I look at this matchup here, and the way it plays, this to me looks more like a onepossession game. So, if any team is going to be getting that hook above a full possession, that’s going to be of interest to me, particularly again in Vegas, closer to Arizona, Florida is replacing a lot. Now look, they very clearly have the best front court in the country. They’re replacing a lot in the back court. And when I talk about neutral sight games that play more like tournaments, uh I look for quality backcourt play. That’s typically what separates teams like this that are even on neutral court environments. I trust that situation a little more for Arizona early. They’re the underdog. They can kind of sell that message a little bit in the locker room. I think it’s a onepossession game either way. So give me Arizona plus the three and a half here. And that Florida squad, if they can somehow figure out without being their top with their top players from last year, they’d be the fourth team in the last 50 years to repeat as natty champs. But we’re talking game one, people. There’s a long season ahead of us. Let’s talk about a stone cold lock in the NHL. You have the Conucks visiting, the Predators. Both teams really struggling, Mike, to start the season. What’s your approach to this one? You know, Claudia, this is a bet I typically only play in the Stanley Cup playoffs. However, I like it here and it’s going to be a first period under one and a half just fading that second goal in the opening period. You mentioned both of these teams struggling. We’re talking about bottom five in scoring in the National Hockey League here and bottom third in the league in terms of power play scoring. Nashville, one of their bright spots actually has been that penalty kill unit. They’ve been very, very good there. I like them defensively on home ice. Uh difficult spot for the Canucks overall. I just think we get a slower defensive start early here. So going to fade that second goal at minus 105 where the price point is typically going to be minus 125 range. I think there’s some value here tonight. Curious Mike Young season for all three of these college hubs at NHL and in the NBA. Do you have a future in mind right now? I know it’s early but do you see any value futures when it comes to natty an MVP some sort of award? Uh, look, I I think the Kansas Jay-Hawks are very interesting as a longer shot this season. They’ve reloaded with a bunch of talent for that. Uh, I like both of these teams tonight, though. I’m going to be watching Arizona and Florida extremely closely because again, Florida does have the best front court in college basketball. Just to me, the question is, what does the back court look like? You have to have strong guard play to win tournaments. Uh, that’ll be something I’m looking forward to see tonight. Mike McCclar, appreciate you. We’ll talk to you soon. Coming up next, more Monday Night Football. Getting in and getting out with some quick hitter bets. Katie Mox, Mike Mccclure. Join us next. Back here on prime time pregame taking a look at the first halflines for Monday Night Football. Cowboys lay in two and a half. Not too expensive on the money line though if you’re scared of the spread. And with that, we welcome in our very good friends. Katie Mocks in studio with me, which is weird. She’s usually on this side. I’m on that side, but I just love to be with you always. Mike McCclary, we welcome you guys back. I I said heading into the break this is going to be the quick hitter. So we’re going to get in, we’re going to get out. Any bet that’s going to be settled before halftime. Katie, where are you going? So I’m going to go with the over in the first half. I liked it better when it was 26 and a half. Now it’s 27 and a half. I’m still going to take it. And why guys? Because everybody can score against Dallas. Okay. They rank third worst in schedule adjusted defense. They’re giving up 31 points per game. It’s the worst in the NFL. They consistently give up big plays. Meanwhile, the offense is an entirely different story. This is an incredibly high-powered offense, especially at AT&T where they average about 40 plus points per game. And when you look at the Cardinals, Claudia, interestingly enough, Jacobe Brassette has been an upgrade over Kyler Murray. Certainly, when it comes to the play action, Cardinals defense rank outside the top 20, making them vulnerable to those quick drives, which you do know that the Cowboys have based their identity on. So, I do expect that both teams are going to attack early here, set up a fast-paced first half, probably more aggressive play calling and multiple scoring opportunities. So, let’s lock in that over 27 and a2. And I’m looking for the Cardinals to contribute there, Katie. I’m going to go over 12 and a half for a first half team total. Uh, anytime I get this spot here where you’re talking about highscoring game, dome controlled environment. Uh, I’m looking for that touchdown and two field goals. Just a very different number than one sitting at 13 requiring that 14th point for a cash ticket. Uh, this is a spot where I agree that Jacobe Brassette is absolutely an upgrade over Kyler Murray at this point. I like the fact that they’re going to be throwing the ball even more here given the depth chart at the running back position coming into tonight. I think this is a spot where they take advantage of that Cowboys defense, the overall environment that they’re playing in. And they’re coming off the by-week, meaning we likely see a strong uh scripted drive early here. Uh, give me the Cardinals team total over 12 and a half in the first half. So, can I interest you in the Cardinals first half spread, which I did just realize they’re five and two, Mike. So, they are covering two and a half is not three. So, of course, it’s not an ideal number, but any thoughts if you had to go with a side for the first half? You know, I lean to the Cardinals pretty strongly tonight. Overall, I I don’t love it in the first half. Where I like them is in that game script where they’re actually trailing, catching up, playing against that weak Dallas secondary, uh where they have to kind of let Jacobe Brassette go sling it. So, while I I’m not playing it at two and a half, if I had to, I would lean to Arizona to start here, but I much prefer the full four quarters if I’m looking to back Arizona tonight. It’s so funny because Mike and I are on opposite sides, which never makes me feel very good about myself. But I I am wearing the right colors tonight to be heavily backing the Cowboys here. and we’ll get to it on most of my plays, but you might as well just tattoo a star on my forehead. Uh, I do like the total a lot more, Claudia, when it comes to this first half. But I do lean on the other side and laying this two and a half with the Cowboys. But like you said, that minus 130 not too juicy either. I just think that the Cowboys at home always put up a show, always light up the scoreboard, and two and a half just under a field goal, I think, is doable for them. Okay. I I was told I know there’s a play you like in the first half before we move on to the full game. Mike, we’re talking touchdowns here. Oh yeah, give me Trey McBride first touchdown. Uh look, guys, basically been wide receiver one in the NFL. Yes, I know he’s a tight end, uh but basically been wide receiver one in terms of volume with Jacobe Brassette. Now they’re coming off a by-week against one of the worst defensive secondaries in the NFL. I think this is a great spot for him to grab that first touchdown. He’s had three touchdowns in the last two weeks with Brat in this lineup and I think that continues here tonight. got 24 targets the last two games and the second most red zone targets behind Devonte Adams. I said the same thing earlier. He’s putting up number one wide receiver numbers. So I’m actually with you on national tight end day. Exactly. He was anchor. He tweeted out. He’s like this should be illegal. I agree. I love watching T. It should it honestly all tight ends should play. There should be no by. So true. It’s so true. Uh let’s talk about the full game then Katie. If we’re talking you know money line spread total for the full game. What what caught your eye? I’m going to lay the three with the Cowboys as well. Now, it feels slightly suspicious that the Cowboys are only getting the home field advantage when they are such a juggernaut at home, but the Cardinals have lost five straight. All right. I don’t think that a byee is necessarily going to fix all of those problems. And you did say they have been better at covering. These have been closer games, but the Cowboys boast the NFC’s best offense or number two in NFL in total offense. They are capable of pulling away at home. Dallas also 18 and 11 a as a against a spread, excuse me, as a home favorite, covering by an average of 5.6 points per game. That’s second best in the NFL, second only to the Detroit Lions. And Arizona’s offense has been a little bit sticky. I know they’ve had their quarterback problems, but they rank bottom half of the NFL across some key metrics. And they really struggle to sustain drives. And I understand that against Dallas probably not going to struggle as much to sustain those drives. But in prime time, you got to trust Dak Prescott and this explosive Dallas attack to handle business and cover the number. The only time I won’t trust Dak in prime time at home is if it happens to be against the 49ers in a playoff game where he inevitably throws multiple picks. Sister, I know our producer just told us that 68% of the money, and correct me if I’m wrong, so the money on the Cowboys, that’s usually a good thing if you’re on the same side as the Sharps. Public is where we get a little worried. So, does that make you feel better? Worried that there’s so much money on the Every time I’m betting on the Cowboys as heavy as I am tonight, I don’t feel good, sister. But I really just I can’t give it to the Cardinals. So, this is just where where I’m at. And if you can get the three because we’ve been seeing it swing, Mike, to three and a half as well, back and forth with that money coming in and out. How are you feeling about a side total for the full game? I know you said you’re on the Cardinals, so I’m assuming you’re looking leaning the Cardinals. Yeah, Cardinals at three and a half. Complete stayaway at three for me. I I just think this comes down to that that final possession kind of game. I I love the way Jacobe Brassette has been playing. And really, I think the Cardinals are are rated a little better than uh or they’re rated a little worse than they actually are. When you look at how they’ve lost some of these games, we talk about the fumble out of the end zone becoming a touchback. That that was one way to lose a game. But when you look at the five losses here by a combined 13 points, uh this team has been in a lot of very very competitive games. I truly believe that Jacobe Brassette at this point is an upgrade offensively. And you’ve got one of the best weapons in the NFL and Trey McBride out there. The team, the defense getting more healthy on the death chart tonight thanks to that by week coming into this spot. I I just think this is a good time to back Arizona at three and a half. All right. Team total, full game total. Is there is there a total number in your mind, Mike, that stands out? Uh I would lean to the over here. Not going to touch it. Uh but certainly not going under on this one. I I think we do ultimately get a back and forth shootout in it. Uh, but looking at that first half team total for Arizona is where I I would be looking to play the over. Uh, and if I had to play a full game, it would be a lean on the over here. Well, a move that will shock no one. Claudia, I’m taking the Cowboys team total over 28. And I know that’s what I’m saying. Cat a star on my forehead at this point. They average 30.8 points per game so far this season. And like I said, that number jumps up to 40 plus in three games at AT&T Stadium so far this season. They rank top four in EPA per play. They’re second in the league when it comes to points scored and total yards gained here. The Cardinals defense has been a liability, ranking near the bottom of the NFL. They’re 30th in passing yards allowed per game, given up a ton of passing touchdowns in the league so far this season. And with Dak Prescott and this elite offense just rolling at home, I really think that they can clear this 28 and a half. And again, I’m so I’m so deep into this. Of course, they’re going to have to go over this number, sister. Let me ask you this. Dallas is 6-2 to the over. Cardinals 4-3 to the over. Dallas’s defense is their glaring weakness. They’re still banged up a little bit there. Is it a lean on the full game over? Do you not have enough faith in the Cardinals to put points up and you just want to look at Cowboys? It’s a Yeah, same with uh Mike what he said. I’m not willing to take an under at all in this game when you look at how poor both defenses have played. So definitely a lean to that over, but I’m just not as high in the Cardinals as Mccclure is. And this did open at 51 and the Hook came up to 53 and a half. Saw it as high as 54 and a half. And that is a lot of points. So, just go with the offense that is absolutely rolling. All right, Mike Mccclur, Katie, appreciate you guys. Enjoy the game tonight. Commanders quarterback Jaden Daniels out indefinitely after dislocating his left elbow in the fourth quarter of Sunday night’s lopsided loss to the Seahawks. Speaking to the media today, coach Dan Quinn said that leaving Daniels in the game with the score out of hand is quote 100% on me. And more NFL injury updates, Packers tight end Tucker Craft is done for the season after tearing his ACL against the Panthers. And the Chargers say left tackle Joe Ald will undergo season ending ankle surgery. He suffered his second high ankle sprain of the season in the win over the Titans. And 49ers rookie Michel Williams reportedly has torn his ACL and is done for the year. A big blow to a defense already missing Fred Warner and Nick Fosa. Spread hanging at three with the Cowboys at home. Undefeated. money line a little juicier in that total running up 53 in the hook here with Katie in studio. Mike joining us as well. All right guys, lots to pick from but I just need one. Katie, you’re all on the line wager. Where are you looking? I’m looking at George Pickkins for an anytime touchdown at plus 125. He is a favorite uh target for Dak in the red zone and he’s always a threat deep down the field for those big long passes which of course we know uh is going to give him multiple paths to scoring in this game. The Cardinals defense struggles against the pass. We talked about how many touchdown passes they have gave up so far this season and he’s already shown Claudia elite scoring ability with six touchdowns so far this season. I do like this plus 125 as you see on the screen there. And yes, CD Lamb is back and Pickkins obviously has gone down a little bit in terms of those targets, but he does still have a strong target share. I do think he’s going to be a focal point of this passing attack. And as you know, I’m so high on this Dallas offense. Uh that yeah, I do think that Pickkins can get one. And I’m looking at the Cardinals. Give me the first half team total over 12 here. Uh again, very very different number than when you see these at 13 or 13 and a half. Now you can cash this with a touchdown and two field goals. We know this game is indoors in a controlled environment. A lot easier to kick those long field goals. Uh and just perfect throwing conditions for a guy like Jacobe Brassette against this Dallas defense. Uh we’ve seen time and time again Dallas off to a slow start defensively often finding themselves in these shootouts that go back and forth. I really believe this number should have been 13 1/2 which again very different play. Give me Arizona here over 12 and a half in the first half. Okay. I I need to make a parlay. We’ve given so many good plays out. We got to get something together. Okay. And and my best bet of the day would be the tight end parlay. Like I said, five catches each for Ferguson and McBride. So, if I have to do a leg, I would say five catches for Trey McBride. Guys, 24 targets, 18 catches with Jacobe Brassette. He is the safety blanket, the highest target share of any tight end in the NFL. Also, Trey McBride for me, five catches feels very safe for a leg because whoever loses the leg is going to get a big loser sign. Oh, no. It’s like the Dutch cap, but we have to wear a loser sign. Yeah. So, Katie, if you had to pick a leg for our same game parlay, where are you looking? When I’m looking at something that’s really safe, and we all know that I’m very high on the Cowboys, right? And certainly with this offense, I like them over, you know, in the first half. I like them over their team total. I do like uh Pickkins to score, but if I’m looking for a leg in a parlay that’s like an automatic wide and this is very niche by the way. I’m looking at Cowboys drive one player to catch a pass. CD Lamb at minus 160. Now it’s too juiced to do that on its own, but throw it in a parlay. He is catching a pass on the first drive for the Cowboys. He is the number one target for Dak. Katie’s getting degenerate. Mike, I mean, I love it. I’m gonna just simply grab the Cardinals on an alternate spread here. uh going to go up to 8 and a half. Getting us through really all the key numbers. Uh pushing this to a two-possession game. Uh when I look at Arizona, I really like what they’ve got going on here. Again, they’ve lost five games by a combined 13 points. Some of them to pretty good competition. Uh this isn’t downgrading competition for them defensively. So, I like the Cardinals plus eight and a half on that line. All right. So, a little bit of wiggle room taking the eight and a half with the Cardinals. I like Trey McBride. And Katie is going very niche, very specific. We’re we’re just throwing it in a park. We are. Yeah. No, we are. We are. Plus 16 odds, which again is nothing crazy, but maybe that means it actually hits. Katie, you know, one can hope, sister. One one can only hope. I actually do like that though. I I I’ve never bet something like that before a game. I usually do crazy live bets, but lay him to catch a pass on the Cowboys first drive. Of course, he’s got a who? He’s their main guy. If not him, then who? Exactly. Appreciate you guys. Be sure to start your day with the Early Edge Sports Lines daily betting podcast. Joe Muso and Kiana Martin here to get you set for your week nine finale. 60 minutes till the official halfway point of the NFL season featuring two teams getting short on time. Yeah, Cardinals and Cowboys both looking for a rebound, both looking for a spark, and only one can flip the script under the lights tonight. And if one thing is clear for the Cowboys, it’s that they need some help on defense. With a trade deadline fast approaching, team owner Jerry Jones said last week he was focused on his investments in a 100 billion dollar natural gas business and not improving his football team. Naturally, these comments didn’t sit well with many in Dallas. So, here’s quarterback Dak Prescott sharing his thoughts. Um, but in that sense, I would just say like the guy’s never really lied about who he is or or what he’s trying to do. And I think right there just I mean hopefully he was talking about in that one particular moment, you know, maybe in those five minutes is what he was alluding to and having a chance at hundred billion dollar opportunity. I think he might take five minutes as well and go and go answer a call. So hopefully that’s what he means, right? And um but I can see I can be frustrating once again for us as players. We control what we can control. Um that that doesn’t pertain to us right now. Our job is to make sure that we’re getting ready for Monday night and going to be the best team that we can when we go out and play the Cardinals. And yeah, to say one position is the the where we need to go or that I mean I’m not sure leave it to the the guys right who are in those talks. I’m sure making those decisions and and and working hard right now as we near the deadline to to figure out something. So, uh it definitely can help. It definitely can help. Not going to shy away from from saying that. Um but I will go back to what I said after the last game. I just encourage the guys in the locker room to to do whatever they can in this time to shut that talk up. And that’s just them, you know, all of us looking in the mirror and just trying to say where can I be better and how can I take advantage of this opportunity before it passes me by. Well, as for the Cardinals, it will once again be Jacobe Brassette under center with Kyler Murray still recovering from a foot injury. Initially, head coach Jonathan Ganon told the media the Cardinals were preparing as if Murray would return, but as the week progressed, Genanon ended up pivoting back to Brassette. Ganon offered more on Kyler’s recovery in the leadup to Monday night. Everyone’s different, you know, uh, every player, every injury is kind of unique. Um, and he’s been pushing. We’ve been pushing. Um, he’s he is getting better. That’s he’s had some more work this last week. Um, but he’s, like I said, it he’s just not ready to to go yet. But, uh, as far as, you know, obviously that position is a little bit different because you got to, you know, have a plan ready. That’s why I’m just saying, you know, Jacob’s starting, but if he can have a role, he can have a role. But you take it one day at a time. But I know he wants to be out there and he’s doing everything he can. It’s just he’s not quite there yet. What do you like about how do Kobe operates the offense? He’s got really good command. Um understands what we’re trying to get done with each play and he’s a vet that it’s it’s he doesn’t really get fooled a lot, you know. So, here’s a look at the notable activives and inactives for tonight. Kyler Murray will miss his third straight game with a knee injury. But in positive news, Arizona’s first round pick, Walter Nolan III, is active for the first time this season. On the Cowboys side, though, Senator Cooper BB will has been activated off IR and is good to go against the Cardinals. So, what does all of this mean for tonight’s NFC showdown? Well, we send it back to Joe Muso at the desk. Thank you, Kiana. Joined by two of my best guys, CBS NFL draft expert Ryan Wilson and NFL analyst Emory Hunt. And I got a feeling we’re in store for a good one. Over the next hour, we’ll dive into it all. And I want to start with a weakness defensive side of the ball for the Dallas Cowboys. Bottom three in points per game, yards per game, yards per play, yards per attempt, third down conversion. Sandborn and overshown out tonight. But other than that, what could go wrong? Emory, what does this group need to do tonight to show up better than they have? Stop the run. That’s if football is all about the point of attack. You start there, then you work yourself outside uh everywhere else. So, if they could stop the run this week of the Arizona Cardinals, I think that’s going to go far for them in winning this ball game. So, it’s about run defense, assignment sound, run fits, all of those things matter before you can do anything else. And then when you’re stopping the run now, you’ll be able to get it these guys in predictable passing situations. Get after the quarterback, use that speed that you have on defense. And there in lies where the Dallas Cowboys have room to get to have success. And these are the same things that Matty Ruth has been preaching uh for eight weeks that have not worked because in part they don’t have Michael Parsons. That’s one of the issues. So, they blitz all the time, but guys are not getting home. That’s the concern. second round pick Nazeraku has been fun, but he’s not a guy you can build an edge rush group around. And Amber, you talk about running the ball, uh, stopping the run. I think that’s important. The issue is this. Uh, the Cardinals like to run a lot of gap schemes where they’re pulling big guys and allowing uh, the running backs to get downhill. Guess what the Cowboys stink at? Stopping gap scheme runs. So, if they can’t do that, that’s going to open things up. We heard Jonathan Gennon talk about allowing uh, the quarterback and Jgo Brassette to do the things more consistently than we saw Kyler do. So, it’s a hu I mean, Emry’s right, but it’s a huge ask for a team that’s been truly and utterly terrible on defense. And these aren’t small data sets any longer. We’re halfway through the season, and you are what you are until you aren’t. Jerry Jones has alluded to maybe adding to that edge group, a place where there’s obviously a point of need just days before the big deal comes down. And we’ve seen the struggles that have followed in suit. On the other side, it’s an offense that does offer hope. Dak specifically on this night. The splits is where he likes to live at home and Monday Night Football. Two places where he does his best work. Ryan, I’ll come to you. What does this offense have to do tonight to again outpace the woeful defensive performance? They need to keep doing what they’re doing. And I think, you know, to steal Emry’s thunder and go to God’s position, the running back position, it starts with Javvante Williams who has been playing lights out in in in a way that perhaps not many people expected, but he has made life easier for Dak Prescott. But then you also add George Pickins who carried the load offensively down the field when CD was out. CD is now back to have Jake Ferguson and Dak Prescott is playing at a high level. I think they just need to keep doing what they’re doing. It’s going to be the same thing that Joe Burrow and now Joe Flacko have to do in Cincinnati. You got to score 30 35ish points to have a chance. But that’s this offense built to do that. And when you know that you’re able to run the football like the Cowboys have been able to do this year, you can kind of dictate the terms. Hey, we know we can score it well. We have great chemistry with our passing game, our receivers, but we also have the ability to slow the game down. That helps out your defense. I think that’s where the Cowboys, to your point, Ryan, can help their defense out by, hey, we’re going to slow this game down. Maybe not four play drives. We love those. Maybe nine plays, nine minutes. Now, you put them in a one-dimensional situation where they have to maximize their drive because we put that defense out there after a quick turnaround. That’s why in college football, you see those teams that score fast, run a lot of plays, their defense tends to stink because not because they’re not scoring on offense, but they got these guys back on the field. So many plays, minimize the plays. That’s how you help the defense out. It’s interesting, too. Often running against a light box because of what this Dallas team can do to you on the edges with their star wide receivers. Always poses a threat. Always needs safety help. We’ll see if that’s the story again tonight. The story coming into this one was the uncertain future of Kyler Murray as it pertains to this game. You knew this was one he wanted to get back for. It’s a building that he’s played high school, collegiate, and NFL football in 9 and0 in his career in that building. It’s not going to be the hometown homecoming that he was hoping for. Instead, Jacobe Brassette, who’s 0 and2, but getting to some nice numbers here. 25 a game, 299 and a half passing per game, four touchdowns, and a lone interception in these last two games. Emory Hunt. So, if it’s going to be Brassette, what does this offense need to lean into and make their identity to tonight? What makes Brassette really well for this offense or work really well for this offense is the fact that he is consistent. We heard coach Ganon talk about it. He knows where to go with the football. The ball comes out on time. It goes out to the right person. It goes out to the right uh teammate and allows those guys to have success. Allows the offense to operate. It allows them to then work themselves into a good lather on offense. It allows those big offensive linemen that Ryan talked about to kind of lean on that defensive front. So it allows you to stay on the field and finish drives with points. Now that’s where I thought Brassette does a great job in doing. He doesn’t really turn the ball over. He had their wild game versus Indie, but the offense was able to move the football at will against the coast. I think they have that same opportunity tonight based on his ability to to really navigate the offense like he’s supposed to. No, I think that’s exactly right. And five losses for Arizona all within one score. And look, if not for Micah Parsons, and you can blame Jerry Jones for the latest loss for the Cardinals, they’re beating the Packers, the Arizona Cardinals two weeks ago. Michael Parsons went crazy on Jonah Williams down the stretch and ended that game single-handedly, but Emry talked about it. You get the running game going, we know they can get the running game going even without two of their best running backs because this Dallas Stevens is not very good. They’re going to blitz, but they’re not going to get home. And then allows you to open g things up with one of the best tight ends in the NFL. Marvin Harrison Jr. made some big plays two weeks ago before the buy. And then you go from there. As Jonathan Ganon said, what you’re getting in Joet that you don’t get in Kyler Murray and me using putting some words in Jonathan Ganon’s mouth, you’re not getting the mistakes. The ball’s coming in on time and he is not getting fooled. And this this defense for Dallas is not fooling anyone anyway. So I think it it makes life a lot more difficult as we talked about previously for uh Dak in that office to have to score even more points. What I’m hearing is three degrees to Micah Parsons. It’s like the name game. You only have to say so many to get there. It is the name that continues to linger around this Dallas team and all their defensive shortcomings. We add it all up, it is a favorite in the Dallas Cowboys, that number crossing an allimportant line. It was a three-point favorite. Now three and a half, gentlemen. 53 and a half is our total. Ryan, does that change the way you look at this game? That hook. No, no, it doesn’t. And I I think this is it’s going to be interesting to see what happens because the trade deadines tomorrow. I think if Dallas wins this game, and I do think they do win this game, it’s going to be fun to watch what Jerry Jones decides to do once he gets up and going about his gas business and and whether he wants to bolster this this edge rush group because if they win this game, they’re much, you know, it feels like they’re much more in the thick of it than if they lose this game. And I think the way the offense is playing will overcome all the defensive shortcomings that we’ve seen so far this season. I think the numbers here are great, both the total and the the point spread. I love Dallas in this spot because what they can do that the Cardinals can’t do is run the ball. So I think we’ll see them lean on their run game, shrink this ball game, make it a calmer, not calamari, but make it a Jacobe Rouset versus Dak Prescott game, a fraudulent slip right there. But also, it allows them to really close out a game with their run game and I think their defense will they won’t have to blitz. They’ll be able to play coverage and take away some of these options in the passing game. Maybe Kyler still on the mind because he is still despite the time miss the leading rusher on this Arizona Cardinal. I thought he said Kalamari crazy that too. I’m hungry too. We’ll have two orders. But you can always count on Sundays with the NFL on CBS and Paramount Plus. There are some things in life that you can’t quite explain. An extraordinary story. Maybe it sounds flawless. Looks effortless or makes you feel like a part of history. The first ever for KFC. And when all of those phenomenons come together, it’s perfect. Pitch perfect. Back on prime time pregame where every story has two sides. Unfortunate for the Cowboys, every team does too. One of the league’s most potent potent offenses will again to look to outpace their bottom tier defense. Stack will try and ride the trend. Prescott good for eight TDs and a lone interception at home this season. And for more on the matchups, we say hello to our dynamic duo Todd Ferman and Pete Prrisco in to turn the story lines into money lines. Gentlemen, it’s great to be with you for this prime time matchup. And we start there with Dak, a potent offense going up against Pete, what I think might be an underappreciated defensive unit in Arizona. What does Arizona do well and how does Dak attack tonight? Well, what Arizona does well is they do a nice mix of playing zone and man, they’re one of the teams in the league that actually kind of is right down the middle on that. So, it makes it tough to get a real read on them. Uh, when you look at what they do, they don’t play a lot of nickel um in terms of using corners. They use a lot of three safeties looks. So, I think you can create some problems for them uh with your slot receiver in those situations. But, you look at last week with Dak, it was not a good performance at all. And why wasn’t it? they were pressured and he had a lot of people in his face. They didn’t have time to throw the ball down the field. They didn’t spread it around and it was a real problem for him. This Arizona pass rush isn’t nearly as good. So, I think there will be opportunities for him to stand in there and make some plays against them. Like I said, they’re not great in the secondary. There’s youth back there. Uh there’s some guys back there that don’t run as well as you would like them to run. So, I do think there’s going to be opportunities for him to hit some shots down the field, provided they protect them better than they did against Denver. Look, the bottom line is this is not a great defense. It’s an overachieving defense with a lot of young players and they don’t really pressure the quarterback as well as you would like. So, I think this is again a a chance for Dak Prescott to get back to what we expect from him being able to throw the ball around and throw it down the field. I don’t look for Arizona to slow them down. In fact, I think Dak Prescott’s going to roll up big numbers tonight. You know, Pete, you mentioned some of the deficiencies for this Arizona Cardinals defense, and you’re exactly right. It’s a group that checks in. 25th in pressure rate, 28th in sack rate. But one of the areas that Arizona has shown an ability to at least slow down opposing offenses is that they want you to move it methodically. A lot of zone, as you alluded to, a lot of cover four in the mix. And I think as a result, Dak Prescott’s going to be able to take the profits more often than not. And while the completion numbers haven’t been there over the last couple weeks, I feel like this is the kind of matchup that allows him to exceed the number that oddsmakers have set at 25 and a half completions for the game. I’m not sure the explosive plays are going to be a big part of this Cowboys arsenal, but they are going to have opportunities to take those four, five, six, seven, eight yard gains as they continue to present themselves. And as long as Dak Prescott doesn’t get overzealous trying to hunt the deep ball if it’s not there, I think he’s got have an excellent opportunity to be a high volume passer, complete a lot of them, and have a high completion percentage against his Cardinals defense. So, I’ll look to go over that completion number instead of tangling with the yardage or some of the other more aggressive numbers for Dak Prescott’s performance today. All right, you guys expect shots. Let’s take a couple downfield. And what is my favorite receiver duo in the NFL? Two bonafide ones between Cidi Lamb and George Pickkins. The usage is interesting, Pete. We’ve seen Shotti line them up on the same side of the formation to try and get some favorable looks backside. We’ve seen uh George Pickins obviously alone on one side. CD Lamb can play anywhere on the football field. Where do you want to see them situated tonight? And how does that make them most dangerous? Well, I think it makes them most dangerous when you play zone is that look, you know, they’re going to take Lamb is the number one wide receiver. They can talk all they want about Pickkins and how good he’s been, but Lamb is the one wide receiver. So, you’re going to see a lot of coverage rolled his way. Uh, but that’s going to give opportunities for Pickkins. And look, if you do play zone against Pickkins, he’s one of the best in the league at at yards uh against it. So, I think he’s gonna have some opportunities against him. But I also want to look at the tight end. You look at the Cardinals, and I think Todd touched on it about being patient against them. And when you have to be patient against them, and they don’t allow you to get a lot of the big shots down the field, the best way to do that is to use your tight end. And they give up a lot of yards to the tight end. Fourth most in fact, to the tight end position. So, I think you can look in that that opportunity is will be there with Ferguson in the middle of the field. But I think Pickkins is the way to look uh if you want to look for somebody on the outside because I do think the Cardinals will roll coverage the Lamb and try to take him away. You know, Pete, you mentioned Jake Ferguson and that’s where I’m going to go, but I’m going to take a little bit of an unorthodox approach to trying to fade Jake Ferguson’s production. Not with his overunder of receiving yards sitting at 41 a half, but at his longest reception sitting at 15 and a half yards. And I’m going to go under that number. When you look at Jake Ferguson so far this season, he has been the definition of a checkown tight end option for Dak Prescott. Only averaging 4.4 airs per target and six and a half yards per reception. So, he’s been able to roll up a whole lot in the way of receptions. Not last week against the Denver Broncos withstanding. Uh, but the yardage hasn’t necessarily been there. So, I can see a path where Jake Ferguson has potentially six to eight catches h gets that 45 to 50 yard total, but doesn’t do it all in one big play. So until they price down Jake Ferguson for his overunder longest reception, this is a market that’s been relatively fruitful, especially when they step up in class and play defenses to take away some of the big plays. So I’ll take Ferguson’s longest reception under 15 and a half yards tonight. All right, a sharp edge there until he shows us otherwise. He has been living in the end zone. So maybe we stack up a touchdown and an under on the longest. Just just get weird with it. It’s it’s the last game of week nine, fellas. It it it’s the home stretch out. Feels weird to say we are rounding the corner and heading home, but here we are with one more in week nine. Pete, let’s get to the ground here because can be intoxicating when you have that battery of pass catchers at your disposal at a as a play caller. But this is a run game for Dallas that’s remained productive as well. How have they done so? By the way, Joe, don’t rush our life away. It’s only week nine. We’re not at the end yet. I mean, my god, we’re in the middle of the tunnel. We’re closer to the end than the beginning. I get it. I get it. I’m with you, by the way. Early November, you start saying that a lot. Uh, look, the bottom line is the Cowboys want to run the football. And, you know, Javvante Williams has done a nice job running the football. You look at what they do, and and their offensive line is good, and it’s one of those physical offensive lines, and this offense is built on that. The Cardinals, though, are pretty good against the run. They’ve given up 4.2 two per rush, but it’s gone up the last couple and that’s going to be a concern. Uh, when you look at the Cowboys because their numbers have gone down the last couple, so something’s got to give here. But you’re right, when you look at this team, you have all those weapons on the outside. You want to throw it around. You want to be a team that’s pretty and throw the football at Dak Prescott. But ideally, you want to run the ball. And I think they will try and run the ball because it’s available to them. It just hasn’t been as good the last couple weeks because the line hasn’t been as good. They haven’t been as committed to it. They’ve fallen behind, but the yards per rush numbers have also come down, which tells you they haven’t been as good doing it. I think tonight they’re going to try and get back to that. I look for them to establish the run. The Cardinals have been okay against the run. Last couple games haven’t been as good. So, that kind of meets there in the middle and something has to give. And Pete, I think you mentioned some of the shortcomings right now that we’re seeing in this Cowboys ground game. And it took a little bit of a hit today. Jaden Blue officially inactive. So, we see Malik Davis get called up from the practice squad. We’ll see if that means more on Gavvonte Williams plate than what we’ve seen over the last couple of weeks. But again, I don’t want to go after his overunder for carries tonight. I don’t want to look at his total yardage. I just don’t think the explosive is going to be a big part of the Arsenal because he hasn’t necessarily been able to rip off some of these big gains against what I would call at least an average run defense. He was good against the Commanders. He had a big run against the New York Giants, but against teams that are middle of the pack, he’s really struggled to find that explosive. And look, he can pick up a couple of 10, 11, 12 yard runs, but it still doesn’t mean he’s going to have a carry for 15 yards or more. Arizona’s yards before contact allowed haven’t been great against inside zone runs, and that’s where Javvante Williams does a lot of his damage. But at the same time, I don’t think oddsmakers have adjusted the longest rush number down nearly enough. So, I’ll take him under 14 and a half yards and look for him to be a little bit more of a plotter than a big play merchant tonight. All right, so Todd Ferman looking for some per pop tonight on this Dallas offense. We’ll dive into Arizona here after a quick timeout, gentlemen. Thank you. Coming up, it’s Jacobe Brassette again at the helm. We’ll see what this offense looks like at the center of the star. We dive in next on CBS Sports HQ. You can’t count on accurate expiration dates. Oh, Tony, I think it hit the ground. But you can always count on Sundays with the NFL on CBS and Paramount Plus. Back on Prime Time Pregame where it’s start number three this season for veteran quarterback Jacobe Brassette. Kyler still not good to go, but the silver lining in it, this Arizona offense has found an identity in his absence. Brassette stacking numbers in his two starts. However, a loser in his last six. Undefeated when I’m with my guys Pete Prrisco and Todd Ferman back in the fold. Pete, let’s talk about this Arizona offense and maybe what they’ve gained in their loss. What do they do differently when Brassett’s out there and not Kyler? By the way, I wonder if this is just a way to have a soft benching. I mean, that that subject has been broached to me about people in the league. I mean, I’m just wondering if if if indeed he’s this is some way to get Kyler Murray to sit down. And the reality is, is Jacobe Brassette better than Kyler Murray? The answer to that question is no. But is the difference that much that you’d want to pay Kyler Murray all that money? And the answer to that question is probably no as well. So, give him another opportunity. He’s averaging 299 passing yards per game in his two starts. They’re averaging more points and more yards when Jacobe Brassette is on the field. I don’t think he’s a better player. I don’t think he gives you the threat to move the football with his legs much at all, but he is patient. He knows where to go with the football. The Cowboys are bad against the pass. And so, this is an opportunity for Brassette to make plays down the field, throw the football, and be accurate with it, which he’s been done uh been doing from a lot of his career. He’s just not one of those guys that you look at him and you go, “Wow.” So, I think there going to be some chance for him to make they’re trying to make him look good for a reason, I think. And I don’t know why, but it has to do, I think, with the long-term viability as Kyler Murray is a starting quarterback. This is just me playing a hunch. Nobody’s told me that. But I think when you look at this Cowboys defense, they’re so bad on the back end right now and so banged up on the back end, who can’t complete passes against them? They’re, you know, one of the worst in the league at defending the pass. So, I think this is going to be one of those chances for him to look good and then put even more pressure on the Cardinals when you’re looking down the road whether Kyler Murray is going to be around for the long term. You guys mentioned the change in the way the Arizona offense has operated and the one thing that’s most notable in a limited sample size since Jacobe Brassette took over is how much more frequently they’re going under center. 42% of the offensive snaps Jacobe Brassette is operating under center. When we see Kyler Murray out there, it’s a lot of shotgun mainly because his height works against him and he’s got to get outside the pocket to be able to have vision downfield. The what that’s allowed Arizona to do so successfully, albeit in narrow losses, has been their ability to run play action at a much higher rate. We’re seeing Arizona utilize play action components at more than onethird of the dropbacks for Jacobe Brassette. And against this Cowboys defense that lacks the ability to generate pressure consistently up front is down some key cogs on the back end. To Pete’s point, I think there’s going to be an avenue for Arizona to have success looking to throw downfield. Now, all that being equal, look, I think Arizona is going to be able to run the football effectively as well. And it’s not going to put nearly as much on Jacobe Brassette’s plate as what this total indicates. I’m going to take him under 35 and a half pass attempts. Look, I think Arizona hangs around in this game from start to finish. I don’t really see a scenario where they’re chasing a two touchdown deficit and they have to throw caution to the wind. So, I just don’t see a high volume passing game for Brassette to the tune of 36 attempts or more. I’ll take him under that number at 35 and a half attempts. I love the play and I love every year in the NFL. It feels like we get a new phrase. Quiet benching is is the phrase of the year, if not the year, certainly the month with the conversation around JJ McCarthy. He bounces back in a big way here on Sunday. We’ll see if we do get to see Kyler a week from now, but we will not see him here on Monday Night Football in a place where he’s had nothing but success in his football career. Let’s talk about the pass catchers. There will be opportunity. The Dallas defense gives it up to everyone, Pete. But I’m worried when I look at Arizona’s numbers. McBride leading the team at yards and receptions far and beyond the receptions leader on this offense. Marv hasn’t taken that step forward. Is this that aha light bulb comes online moment for Marvin Harrison Jr. tonight? I mean, if it’s not going to come on, it’s not going to come on tonight. It’s not going to come on against anybody because, like I said, this pass defense is so bad. But I think you nailed it in the beginning when you mentioned the tight end. And and look, I’m easy. I go to the tight end all the time because I see these teams struggle to cover the tight end. And when you look at Brassette since he’s been in as the starter, 24 targets for McBride. He likes throwing to the tight end. And the Cowboys gave have given up 415 yards already to the tight end position. That’s a lot teams are throwing against them to the tight end. So, I do think the first place I’d look would be McBride. Look, he’s their best player as a receiver. Uh, so it makes sense, but I think it’s going to even make more sense tonight because they’ve struggled so much against the tight ends. As for Harrison, at some point he’s got to get it going. Look, he’s got too much talent. He doesn’t run by anybody. He’s a physical player. When you play zone against him, he should be able to win in those matchups sitting down with that big body. So tonight might might be an opportunity for him to start showing people that, hey, he was a high draft pick and he does have the talent. He’s never going to be the guy to run by people. That’s not who he was is. That’s not who he’s ever been. But against a team like this who plays a lot of zone, doesn’t match up in man coverage all that much. I think there’s going to be a chance for him to maybe catch six or seven passes. You know, it’s not going to be six or seven passes for 120 yards. It might be six or seven passes for 65 yards, but he might get in the end zone. So, those are the two guys I’m focusing on. Obviously, there isn’t a lot else around them. And Pete, I’m going to buy Marvin Harrison Jr. on the dip here with his overunder sitting at 58 and a half receiving yards. I’m going to go over that total. When you look at this Cowboys defense, look, their struggles have been well chronicled. But the one thing that really stands out to me is the Cowboys have given up 15 passing plays of 30 or more yards. That’s the worst mark in the entire league. If there’s a player that’s going to be able to threaten them deep and over the top, it’s not necessarily going to be Trey McBride. It’s going to be Marvin Harrison Jr. And look, it’s I know this is a little bit more narrative than anything else, but when you have a decorated father of Marvin Harrison Jr. calling out this Cardinals offense for operating in fits and spurts, maybe this provides an avenue to feed the youngster and start to build the confidence. He’s looked like a different player with Jacobe Brassette under center. We know that he hasn’t necessarily been able to get on the same page as Kyler Murray. Kyler Murray’s been pretty outspoken saying it’s not his job to get him the ball. But I think this is where Marvin Harrison Jr. can benefit immensely against the Cowboys team that plays man coverage. They play single high and they’ve just been so porous against the explosive pass plays that I think Marv has the breakout game that we’ve been looking for. To Pete’s point, I’m not sure he goes over the century mark, but just get us to 65 yards. And that’s a winner going over 58 and a half. Yeah, maybe not a bottom tick, but we find him on the way back up against a team that has just given it out like it’s free. We’ll see if the Cowboys can turn it around on that back end as well. As for the run game in Arizona, Pete, it’s a bit of an albatross. 4.4 yards per carry, but nobody’s got more than 173 yards rushing across the season. Kyler still leads the team. What does the rushing attack look like tonight? By the way, nothing like old Marvin Harrison, who never talked to the media when he was playing, coming out and trying to defend his son to the media. I love it. Unbelievable. These guys are great. They fade off into the sunset and next thing you know they’re back out and right in the spotlight again when they had a chance to be in the spotlight. I know. I know. I know. Uh look, as far as the run game for the Cardinals, it does it really matter who carries the football against the Cowboys in the last three games? 5.6 per rush. They’re awful against the run. They use a lot of assets to try and fix that run game. It just hasn’t worked. So, if you’re the Cardinals, you’re not you haven’t been great running the football, but I think you look at, you know, Knight there. Bam is going to be the guy that gets the carries. I think he’s starting to get more and more of them, and I think he’s going to be the guy tonight. They try and pound it up the middle against the Cowboys defense. 5.6 per rush. The last three, 4.9 is awful in itself for a season average, but the last three, 5.6, that’s terrible. So, look for Knight. I think he’s actually going to have some success running the football. And Pete, I think he’s going to have success because he’s going to eat into the lion share of the workload. I’m going to take Bam Knight over 12 and a half carries in the game this evening. You mentioned all the shortcomings for this Dallas Cowboys run defense. Look, something’s going to have to give because Arizona’s ground game hasn’t exactly been something to write home about by any stretch of the imagination, but I kind of alluded to the game state a little bit earlier on when we were breaking this thing down. And I think if Arizona hangs around in a one-sore window, they’re going to be able to be balanced from start to finish in this spot. The Cardinals spoke volumes, you know, putting Michael Carter on waiverss to resign him to the practice squad. They’ve kind of come out and said that Bam Knight’s going to be their early down back and Amari D Marcato will be out there when they decide to run the two-minute drill and a little bit more as a pass catcher in third down situations. I think Knight’s got an excellent opportunity to carry the ball 15 to 18 times. A pretty modest number here. I’ll take him over 12 and a half rushing attempts against the much malign stop unit of the Dallas Cowboys defense that’s been an elixir for every ailing ground game. All right, seeing the game script much the same. We’ll see if they see the pick as well. Dallas now a three and a half point favorite. Whether that’s Kyler Murray hooked right there with him going inactive official or some money coming in. Todd Ferman, it smelled like a bad number to me from the start. I’m comfortable up to four and a half, five, six. I mean, I think it’s I think it’s Cowboys by a touchdown tonight. Nobody asked me. I ask you, what do you love? Well, I’m gonna go the other way here, Joe, because my number even with Jacobe Brassette under center is two and a half. So, now that I’m on the other side of three, I’m going to back Arizona in this spot. When you look at the Cardinals, I’m not going to sugarcoat a team that comes out of their by riding a five-game losing streak. But the one thing that’s been consistent is they’re showing fight on a week in weekout basis. They’ve lost those five games by a grand total of 13 points. Feels like every Cardinals game comes down to a last second field goal. And while the Dallas Cowboys offense has been dynamic amongst one of the best units in the league that gets even better when they play at home, asking them to win and do so comfortably here, even by three and a half points or more, feels like a herculean task. I’ll buy the dip on the Arizona Cardinals. Everyone I’ve talked to loves Dallas to win this game going away. I’ll take the contrarian angle here and look for the road underdog to be competitive from start to finish. I’m with Joe on this one. I I think this is a Cowboys team that comes home. Didn’t play well on offense last time. I think they light up the scoreboard. I don’t think Arizona is all that good on defense. I don’t think they’re fast on defense, and I think that shows up. Uh I think it’s going to get a little loose, by the way. I think you might see a lot of points, but I think Dallas in the end, I’m with Joe. I think it’s a touchdown victory for the Cowboys. Pete, I would heed warning here. I made my pick not by sharp handicapping like our Todd Ferman. Instead, I looked in my closet and and the Navy and silver just found me. So that’s the type of handicapping that goes into it. Todd Ferman, Pete Prrisco, thankful as always. We got plenty more coming here on Prime Time Pregame. Your week nine finale could get wild. Some news out of Major League Baseball. Paul Skins, Yoshino Yamamoto, and Christopher Sanchez were named finalists for the NLI Young Award. Skins is the presumptive favorite after leading baseball with a 197 RA and finished tied for second in the National League in strikeouts. Yamamoto and Sanchez tied for the second lowest RA in the National League at 249. If Skis does take home the award, he’ll be the eighth pitcher to win rookie of the year and a Sai Young award at any point in their career. Meanwhile, Met slugger Pete Alonzo has opted out of the remainder of his contract. That’s per multiple reports. He had one year and $24 million remaining on a deal signed prior to this season. Alonzo has spent his entire seven-year career in Queens, earning all-star nods in five of those seasons. He hit 38 homers this year with the Mets and led the National League with 41 doubles. But Alama wasn’t the only big back to opt out of a deal on Monday. Alex Bregman opted out of the two years and $80 million he had left on his deal with the Red Sox. Cody Bellinger opted out the last year of the deal he had with the Yankees. And teams looking for a closer will have a couple of possibilities as Mets closer Edwin Diaz and National League saves leader Robert Suarez both opted to hit free agency. Back here on prime time pregame, here’s a look at the most expensive DFS players for tonight. Dak Prescott, well, he’s going to cost you the most with a price tag at 13,000. And right behind him, CD Lamb. As for the most expensive Cardinal, that’s Jacobe Brassette. But for more on how to set your lineup, here’s the twotime fantasy analyst of the year, Jamie Eisenberg. Should be a fun game tonight between the Cardinals and the Cowboys. Let’s hope for a lot of points. We know that Cowboys defense obviously very bad. had the Cardinals defense not exactly great and obviously what we’ve seen from the Cowboys offense so far this season has been awesome but I’m going to go with the backup quarterback starting tonight for the Cardinals as the MVP on the FanDuel lineup going to go Jacobe Brittette I think he’s going to have another big game taking on this Cowboys defense they’re number one in terms of most fantasy points allowed to opposing quarterbacks and Brtt has looked good in the previous two starts in place of Kyler Murray so hopefully he’ll come out and have a big game tonight and I’m gonna lean on him with two of his wide receivers the obvious one is Marvin Harrison Jr. He’s due for a big game. We’ll talk about him in a second, but I love the opportunity for him against this Cowboys secondary. And then we’ll go with the chief option of Zay Jones. He’s coming off a 67yd reception game in his last outing. Was much better two games ago against the Colts when Marvin Harrison suffered a concussion in that game. So hopefully Jones can make a big play or two down the field. Again, you’re taking advantage of this Cowboys secondary. And Jones at his cost at $5,000 works in this lineup. One other Cardinals player that I’ll play, it’s a little bit risky. It is Zonovan Bam Knight, but I do think he’ll be the best running back for the Cardinals. We know Michael Carter, Amari de Marcato, these guys could work into the mix, but I think that Knight will get the first opportunity and taking on this Dallas defense has been great for most running backs. Hopefully, Knight will follow suit. For the Cowboys, I’m going to play Dak Prescott. I think he’s just going to be awesome once again. I’ll tell you about him in a second. We’ll talk about some props. And then Jake Ferguson coming off a very bad game last time we saw him against the Broncos, but much easier matchup against the Cardinals. So, I’m going to play Ferguson. You could obviously go with a cowboy stack of Dak and CD Lamb, Dak and George Pickkins, but I think for this lineup, Ferguson makes the most sense. Let’s talk about some props for this game. For the Cardinals, I’m going to take Marvin Harrison Jr. over 59 and a half receiving yards. You’re getting that at minus 112. He’s been over this number. Two of his last four games. One of the times he did not do that was against the Colts when he left. But nine receivers so far this season have already done this against the Cowboys. And I think Harrison will have a couple big plays down the field. Could be his best fantasy game to date. So, I love the opportunity for him to go over this number. And then I’m going to take Dak Prescott over two and a half passing touchdowns. He’s been over this number three of his last four games with three plus touchdowns. Last time he didn’t do it was against the Broncos in their last game, but that’s a much tougher opponent. Uh I think we’ll see Dak have to throw in this game because again could be a fun shootout. But just based on what he’s done, especially at home, I think he gets the three touchdowns in this game against the Cardinals. Good stuff there, Jamie. Commanders Dan Quinn faced criticism following the decision to leave Jaden Daniels in the game while trailing by 31 points in the fourth quarter. Daniels suffered a dislocated left elbow that will keep him off the field for the foreseeable future. Quinn addressed the situation Monday and took full responsibility for what happened. I know many of you have been asking about the thought process of Jaden being in the game uh in that situation. And I get that. I’ve been thinking about it honestly non-stop too. And uh you know for me the answer is man I missed it. But I would you know I’ll fill you in on my thought process. Um at the start of the fourth quarter I guess it was probably like 12 and a half minutes left in the game and that was going to be the last drive for a couple of guys Jaden and Zack and Debo and LT. And so weren’t going to have any read run plays and uh meaning no carries you know for the quarterback on a run. And honestly man that’s where I missed it. Uh, of course he could scramble. It’s Jaden. It’s what he’s special at. And that is 100% that’s on me. Yeah, tough go there as we’re joined by Emry Hunt, Ryan Wilson. And it feels like fellas, when it rains, it pours when it comes to the Commanders because they have been dealing with injuries all season long. But now perhaps their biggest coming at the quarterback position. But when we think about it, their season currently sitting at three and six. No Jaden Daniels for the foreseeable future. So Ryan, what is the loss of your franchise quarterback like Jaden Daniels? What does that mean for the Commanders? I mean, the season’s over, and that’s no disrespect to Marcus Mariota. He’s one of the better backup quarterbacks in the NFL. But the issue when you have backup quarterbacks and not your franchise quarterback is that you’re not going to win nearly as many games. And if you’re three and six with eight games to go, best case, you go four and four. And this schedule doesn’t get necessarily any easier. You got the Detroit Lions, Denver Broncos, Minnesota Vikings, then Eagles, Dallas Eagles to end it. So four and four feels like uh you’re living living right to even get to that point. So, it seems like all that’s left to do is is to sort of wait this thing out two months from now. Um, it’s a tough break. I I applaud Dan Gwyn for taking responsibility. It doesn’t change the fact that their star quarterbacks hurt. But, as you noted, Kiana, they’ve been banged up all year and they haven’t been able to catch a break when a year ago they made that deep playoff run with with Jaden Daniels playing every single game. Well, I I will be Mr. Positivity here positivity here and say you’re going to have to coach now. You’re going to have to earn that paycheck. Uh, you and also Cliff Kingsbury. you want another head coaching job in the NFL, go out there and make this offense work, make this offense functional, make this team make the playoffs. That’s where you’re going to earn that paycheck because there’s still some good players out there. I hope that this injury will now help them focus more on trying to establish a run game because that’s where they’ve struggled all season long. They cannot run the football. Even with Marcus Mariott, I know, I’m sorry, with Jaden Daniels, I know they have the volume of yards, but the run game wasn’t there. They were running run plays, but not run game. their run game wasn’t was non-existent. So, if you’re going to coach now, and what better way to galvanize your franchise, galvanize that fan base, especially with that schedule you listed, all of those teams are vying for a postseason. At the end of the day, you’re fighting for the seven seed, it’s a lot tougher this year in the NFC. But if you can go out there and make that seven seed, you win coach of the year in my opinion. Yeah. And I think also you’re putting Marcus Mariota in some advantageous situations because I know we’ve talked on the show plenty times about the backups that are behind some of these starters and obviously it’s a little bit of a different play, but if you have Mariota who can play to his potential, maybe seeing what some of those playmakers they do have that are healthy. I know it’s limited, but not all lost maybe for the Commanders. But meanwhile, guys, CJ Stout in concussion protocol, but feeling quote a little better according to head coach Demo Ryan. Straoud status for Sunday’s divisional game against Jacksonville still up in the air though. But if Strad cannot go, the Texans likely to start Davis Mills. Mills was 17 to 30 for 137 yards, leading the Texans to 12 points. But no scores after Strad was injured on Sunday. But guys, Houston 3 and five. Davis Mills would get that start if obviously there is no CJ Strad. But just how much trouble, Ryan, do you think the Texans are in if they are having to go that route? Uh, speaking of trouble, I I got to say something, Embry. I love that Kiana has to be careful about how she moves so she doesn’t it’s like a robot over here very mechanical and and that’s sort of how Davis Mills plays by the way and I think in order to help Davis Mills you got to lean on a running game that is non-existent right now in Houston that’s been a huge concern you have you have to scheme up plays gets the ball out of his hand quickly you can lean on the defense and the defense has played well but Davis Mills we don’t know a lot about him outside of preseason when he balls out and you know that’s fun to watch if you’re trying to trade him uh before the start of a football season but we know we have a Marcus is Mariota. We know we have Joe Flacco obviously and some of the other backups around the league. Uh Davis Mills is a wild card. This team is up against it uh given the way they played this season and it feels they’re a little better shape than the Commanders because CJ’s going to come back. But they can’t afford to be dropping too many more games either. Yeah, this football team is like Washington except with DJ Screw and UGK, right? The same situation, right? Can you trust your backup to go in there and win games without a established running game? And so if that’s going to be the case, and we’ve seen Davis Mills play solid football in the preseason and also when he was the full-time starter, I thought he did some things really well when he was asked to go in there and play. But now when you look at who they have at running back, can they run the ball consistently? They do have some options at wide receivers, some young options, all all them from Iowa State, all of them named Jaden, too. They got a bunch of those guys out there and Jaylen’s and Jadens. Uh but defensively is where they’re going to have to lead in this matchup. They’re going to have to lead from the front until they get healthy at quarterback and CJ Straw got to learn how to slide better. Yeah, absolutely. I was going to actually ask you before you even got there, do we think this defense is enough to maybe shoulder the load for a little bit? Well, they’re going to have to and especially when you have the ability to rush the passer and affect the run game with how they do. So, they rush with a purpose. They are able to play the run on the way to the quarterback, which is ideally what you want to do. But if you can’t do that defensively, which I trust they can, um it makes things tough for your quarterback, whoever it is. is back there to have success. All right. Well, meanwhile, guys, the Chargers, they did announce that left tackle Joel Alt will undergo ankle surgery and miss the rest of the season. He suffered his second high ankle sprain this year in Sunday’s win over the Titans. Chargers now without both starting tackles. Alt and Rashawn Slater. Justin Herbert has been hit 8.9 times per game this year. That is the third most hits, guys, per game on a quarterback in the last 20 seasons. I’m not saying just this year, last 20 seasons. The numbers I they speak for themselves when it comes to Joe Alt. The Chargers are a drastically better team when they are protecting their quarterback when he is out there than he when he is not. But Emry, how confident are you that LA can keep their season on track and that is this is despite having your two starting tackles? I’m confident because I’m confident in Jim Harbaugh and what he is preaching out there in terms of the mentality because when you look at Justin Herbert, yes, he’s taking all these hits, man, but a coach used to say, “Man, either you are an athlete or you really love getting hit.” Like, at some point, man, get out the way. Like, self-preservation is key. He’s a tremendous athlete. Get out there and take off and run. We’ve seen him do that more so this year. And I think that can help alleviate some of the pressure. But when you have the mentality like they have with the head coach and hey we’re gonna be good with regardless now you’re banking on Austin Deculus who you know is going to be the starter now you’re banking on hopefully Bobby Hart can be healthy. Um that’s a lot and so I would say the fact that they can get tight ends in there and help themselves run the football. It may look a little different but they can still be successful. I think the coach in place will help them do that. Yeah. Unless Jim Hartwell is going to play uh old school like this 30 years ago. I have real concerns because you talk about Austin Decklas, Trey Pipkins, Jamari Sawyer, those are backups and backups to the backup and I get Justin Herbert can hold the ball too long, but Joe Alt and Rashan Slater are elite and then this is a few step steps down and no disrespect to those players. The other thing is this, we’ll find out real quick because their next matchup is is against the Steelers and the Steelers went crazy on Daniel Jones and what was a really good offensive line in Indianapolis. You don’t know which Steelers team you’re going to get week in and week out, but if they look anything like last week’s Steelers, uh, defensively, we may see whoever the backup is coming in for Justin Herbert, he might he might, you know, wave the white flag to get a little break. Yeah, this could spell trouble for the Chargers looking at their game ahead, but also season ahead without two big anchors on your O line. But fellas, let’s move on because an MRI did reveal that Packers tight end suffered a tour ACL in Sunday’s loss to the Panthers. drafted his 143 yards and two touchdowns in last week’s game against the Steelers. He was on pace for the most catches and yards by a tight end in Packers history. Here’s more from head coach Matt Laflur. Tuck’s a guy that he’s not going to flinch and that’s why that’s why we love him. I mean, he’s a hell of a player, hell of a teammate, hell of a guy. Um, I’m bummed for him. I’m bummed for us. But it is it’s just it’s part of it and it’s got to be that next man up mentality. And you know, unfortunate for him, but now other guys are going to get an opportunity. Yeah, a tough blow for Jordan Love for this Packers team. They’re clinging to the NFC North lead with a big matchup against the Eagles on the horizon. So, Emry, what does losing Tucker Craft mean for the rest of the season for Green Bay? you lose the continuity that he has had with Jordan Love. He was becoming a breakout star this season in the NFL. However, this is why you have a draft. This is why you draft all these players, right? You see the product productivity he has had this season, which is outstanding. But Luke Musgrave out of Oregon State, fantastic talent. He was my number two inline tight end in the 23 class. Senior Bowl guy, underrated wide receiver and route runner, and has strong hands. Now, he’s more of the blocking type, but you can get creative in how you deploy offense because you have Luke Musgrave that can help you out as a blocker, but also as an underrated receiver. Then you have Savon Williams whom you drafted this year, who’s a trile athlete that can play quarterback, running back, wide receiver. So, you get creative in how you can find that productivity down the middle of the field like you did with Craft. But outside of that and in and saying that and this is no disrespect. I know when you say that disrespect is about to happen but it’s like he was the tight end. It’s not like they don’t have other options they can go to and they can run the ball. They have good receivers. He was a safety blanket but you can get that from your inline guy and how you can create it with these other pieces that they have on their roster. Yeah. Well, they’ll be without that safety blanket as they look to cling on to that lead in the NFC North. Fellas, thank you so much. Well, let’s take a look at the odds to win the division, shall we? The Packers, despite losing to the Panthers on Sunday, still the betting favorites at plus,00. They’re followed closely by the Lions at plus 130. The Bears plus 900 and the Vikings sit at 13 to1. Packers instead plus 110. Hey, there we go. Got an update for you. Coming up, we’re diving into the prop market to wrap up week nine in the NFL. Dak, CD, Brassette, Harrison. Don’t worry about it. Show Otani, Kyle Schwarber, and Juan Sodto named those finalists for the National League MVP. Otani is of course expected to win his fourth MVP in the last five years and his third consecutive. Otani hit .282 this year with 55 home runs. Also had a 286 earned run average in 14 pitching appearances. If Otani does win, only Barry Bonds will have won more MVPs with seven. Oh, it’s that time. As we cross the 8:00 hour in the East, it’s time to prop it up with two of the best in the business. Gentlemen offering their favorite plays on the biggest names in this Monday night matchup. We start with the quarterback on the Dallas side, Dak Prescott. Feels like an opportunity once again tonight. Not that any defense needs to allow him anything. He’s been operating at a very high level. What’s he get to tonight, Ryan? Uh I think he’s going to be incredibly efficient, but I have him going under the number. I had 266 and a half. I don’t know where it is right now, but uh he has only surpassed that twice this season. Even though, as I’ve mentioned, he’s played at a high level, and I think that’s going to be the case again tonight. They’ll get that running game going with Javvante Williams, and they’ll use CD Lamb and and of course, George Pickkins, but I think he stays under that number. Ryan, you’re new to the show. We win here on Monday, so these these count. Tell me what do you got? We win. All right, so I’m going to be specific. Dak Prescott to record 30 plus pass yards in each quarter. We both can still cash. Okay. I think he can hit 30 passes in each quarter. We got We got to We got to We got a standard we set here. Okay. Well, I’ll try to stay I’ll try to keep up. Ryan Wilson has forgot more HQ than you remember. All right. Let’s dive into our top prop here for a while. In his top target, uh CD Lamb obviously always a welcome addition here. This offense just as potent without him, but when you have CD going next to George Pickkins, pick your poison because both are potent. How do you pick CD tonight, Emory? CD Lamb. Yeah. 25 plus receiving yards in each half. So again, it’s low number but definitely attainable for our public. You know, when he when he starts with the name, you’re going to get something weird. It’s creative in the first. We had to dig deep. But it’s a waxing gibbous move. No, it feels like Emry’s been hot on these first quarter plays, but I see you taking a different approach here. We’re going quarter by quarter there with Cidi. I feel like he’s getting his money with the props. He’s getting through every single iteration of that possibility. It’s finding pages on FanDuel that fans have not seen before. Uh FanDuel Brazil. Next, next. Next. I’m going to go CD Lamb as well because we’re talking CD Lamb. Over six and a half reception. I’m going over because the the Cardinals play a lot of two high shelves, which means the underneath is going to be wide open for CD. He patrols the underneath quite well. All three levels quite well, actually. But if he’s in the slot, I think that uh gives him the opportunity to get over that number uh and do it pretty easily. – 112 seems like a reasonable price there for that 6 and a half over as well. Ryan Wilson, I’ll come to you next on this one because we like to give our friend Bryant McFaden a hard time about George Pickkins wearing a different uniform, continuing to develop, keeping his head on straight as well through this all. We know where your heart lies there in Pittsburgh. Is it hard to watch George do what he’s doing right now? And what does he do tonight? I love watching George Pickkins because so much fun. He does not care. He does not care what you think. He does not care what the defensive back thinks. He does not care what Jerry Jones thinks about gas. Uh he’s just making plays. Uh I’m gonna go George Pickkins anytime touchdown because George Pickins, he and Jake Ferguson, all they do is score touchdowns. And it feels pretty easy to me because it could be the first play of the game. It could be the last play of the game. If you throw a slant, it could go 80 yards with George Pickkins uh anytime touchdown. I had it at plus 125. I’m not sure what the latest is, but it feels like uh easy money. They are parked right there. And don’t take your eyes off of him pre and postnap as well. Always something happening around George Picket, which makes sense why he had to get out of Pittsburgh. You can only have three, Joe. Like, it was That’s right. You can only have three. Uh George Pickkins over 11 and a half receiving yards in the first quarter. I think we’ll see one of those slants hit early. I love that. He’ll break a couple tackles and then he’ll get that he’ll get a first down. He’ll celebrate. He He may get kicked out, but at the end of the day, he he catches this number. Now, the first quarter plays are always interesting, too, because you usually see 2.7 possessions in that first quarter. So, you’re hoping that you either lose the toss and they defer or you win the toss and you take the ball because you want those two possessions there. If you’re playing first quarter numbers, we just offer all of this with disclaimer on the running back market. I come to my running back. What do we do on either side? Javvante Williams five plus rushing yards in each quarter. I don’t need you to go ham and go over 100 or over 89 and a half yards. Five plus yards in each quarter. If you can do that, Javvante Williams, America will love you forever. I just want to tip my cap to our graphics team, to our production assistant. Emry not making it easy on anybody with these uh specific plays. It’s all about Emery. That’s what we’ve learned. You’re using the whole graphic. That’s right. Uh I’m going to go Jamonte Williams. Anytime touchdown 164 minus 164 is the last number I got. Uh look, he’s exceeding everyone’s expectations. He’s back from the ACL from a few years ago, looking a lot more like he was prior to that injury, like we saw at UNCC and early on in his career in Denver. and he’s saved, quotation marks, a a lack of running game that has plagued the Dallas Cowboys since Zeke Elliott was in his prime and even dampened conversations, Emry, about drafting Jeremiah Love uh in the middle of the first round. Your guy Notre Dame. So, uh anytime touchdown score Javvante Williams feels like we’re deep into those minus numbers there on Javvante Williams. Vegas very much expecting that touchdown as well. Jacobe Brassette again getting the start in place of Kyler Murray, his third of the season. Machine learning data points acquired here. What’s Brassette do tonight? It’s this is my top Kobe prop too by the way. Uh Jacco Brassette age 35ish over over 15 and a half. Yeah. Over age over 15 and a half rush yards. Okay. And look last two weeks ago against the Cowboys and went for over 20 excuse me the the Packers. Cowboys defense stinks. Yeah. Joe, you and Emry could go out there and you could piggy back on each other and get 15 and a half rush yards against this defense. So I think Jacobe Brassette, he may get this in the first quarter. Emry for being honest. Hey, him and uh Carson Wentz both run like Ghostbusters. I respect the grind that they do. I will say this for Brassette. I think because they don’t have a run game, him going over 22 and a half completions is the way to go. They have the matchup here between those receivers of the Cardinals. Mike uh Wilson we like a lot um against the secondary of Dallas. I think they could take advantage. He’ll have that over number. McBride all day long. We’ll see him dump it off. We’ll see if this struggle continues for the secondary in Dallas. Got to keep things moving here tomorrow. We heard Pete Prrisco say it. If not now, then when? Marvin Harrison Jr. has to have that breakout game. We need to see it tonight against this secondary. How do we see it? You’ll love this prop. His first re Marvin Harrison Jr., all he needs is a reception on the first drive at plus 145. Okay, he’s your number one guy, right? Go to him on the first drive. Give him a pass. If you ever need a get-right game, it’s facing this Dallas secondary. And they’re the Kingmaker. How many NFC player of the weeks have they crowned? You would be a Hall of Famer, Joe, out of division three Illinois Wesley. Illinois Wesley go had you had you faced the Cowboys each week. So over 59 and a half receiving yards. You know, we’ve talked this stat to death. The Cowboys defense is allowing completion percentage of 68% and 8.1 8.2 yards per attempt. If you look at who that lines up with quarterback wise, they’re giving up a Matthew Stafford each and every week in terms of who they face. So you’re getting Jacob Veret as Matthew Stafford. Even that gets Marvin Harrison Jr. over 59 and a half. Put in a way that only Ryan Wilson can. I love that framing. We will stop the buck there, but we got one more play coming straight ahead on Prime Time Pregame. We put it all on the line for everybody’s best. Kickfast approaching. One more coming your way before. You can’t count on accurate expiration dates. That is a rookie mistake. Or the kindness of strangers. But you can’t always count on Sundays with the NFL on CBS streaming on Paramount Plus. You think you understand how this business works, but you don’t. I now know why mommy was so stressed. My name is Francois Crutchfield, but everybody calls me Crutch. Crutch. Crutch. Crutch. Crutch. Crutch. Crutch. We got a lot of experience of grown kids that’s never ready to leave the nest. You need anything? I do have one question. We didn’t mean right now. You can’t count on Derek’s tons. Oh, Tony, I think it hit the ground. But you can always count on Sundays with the NFL on CBS and Paramount Plus. It’s that time. Time to put it all on the line. One walk through the window for everybody’s best. We begin as we always do. The sharpest man in sports, Todd Ferman. Thanks, Joe. And look, these prime time games for me, it’s normally means that I’m looking to go to the player prop market, trying to find a guy that flies a little bit under the radar. Uh, but tonight’s game provides a unique opportunity to actually bet aside here as we’ve seen Dallas continue to take money with people betting the Cowboys like they know the final score, driving it out to three and a half. And that is a mountain too big for me to climb in terms of making a case for Dallas. So, I’m going to back Arizona plus the points. You look at this Cardinals team, they come into this riding a five-game losing streak. But the one thing that stands out is all of those games have been painfully close. They’ve lost those five games by a combined 13 points. They get a little bit healthier in the defensive backfield, which is extremely important against this potent Cowboys passing attack. And for as good as Dak Prescott has been at home in prime time, especially as a favorite, I’m going to step in front of the freight train. I think Jacobe Br can do enough working off of play action and the Arizona passing attack along with a balanced ground game does enough to keep us inside three in the hook. So give me Arizona plus the points. I think they have an excellent chance to win this game outright. Emory, I’m all about the birds this evening, my friend. How are you getting us to the window with your all on the line pick? All of what you said, Todd, makes sense and I can see all of that happening except the final score. The reason why I love the Cowboys offense and their ability to score in this Cardinals defense, especially with the way they can run the football. And if it had to come down to a field goal to help us cash, I trust what the Cowboys have indoors and their outstanding kicker as well. So, I will lay the three and a half with the Dallas Cowboys tonight against the Cardinals. Ryan, what do you have? Uh, thank you, Emry. You’re looking handsome as ever. I’m going to go Javvante Williams over 69 and a half rushing yards. Uh, we know how bad this Cowboys defense is. It turns out the Cardinals run defense is particularly bad too, especially against gap schemes. That’s where Javvante excels. The Cardinals are allowing 7.2 yards per carry against gap schemes. So, expect to see a lot of that. Going over that number. Kiana Martin, what do you have? All right. So, Trey McBride has looked like the top option in the Cardinals offense. He’s been performing like that. So, I’m just going to go ahead and stick with it. Trey McBride over 68 and a half yards receiving. He surpassed this number in both of his last contests. He’s been targeted 24 times across those last two contests. And wait, who was that quarterback those last two contacts, those games? It was Jacobe Brousette. So, I think that continues this week. And also, they’re playing against Dallas, which has the 30th pass defense. It’s an opportunity for tight ends to keep up the production. That national tight end day was last week, but that continues this week. I’m rolling with Trey McBride over his receiving yards. Joe, take us home. I got no time. Cowboys run the graphic. Laying three and a half with them alongside Emory Hunt. We just beat the kick. You didn’t get it in. I apologize. Todd Furman’s on the other side. He’s picking up those three and a half with Arizona. Emmery and I laying the points. It’s Williams over his rushing number for Ryan Wilson and McBride over receiving for Kiana Martin. That’s going to do it for this hour of prime time pregame. We hope you had as much fun as we did. Join us right here all night long. Full highlights and reaction at Zeros on CBS Sports HQ. You can’t count on accurate expiration dates. Oh, that is a rookie mistake. Or the kindness of strangers, the Ravens. But you can’t always count on Sundays with the NFL on CBS streaming on Paramount Plus. I'm a life long cowboys fan, and I feel sorry for the fans that are locked into season tickets! As a fan, I finally understand why people are so hard on us! JJ feeds us shπ© and we keep they keep packing the stadium to watch the shit! Boycott his azz!!!
Dak worse Dallas quarterback ever like Tony Romo
Wooooow!!!! How bad do the Cowboys really suck!! They are totally horrible!!! The worse Cowboys team ever. EVVVVVVER!!!ππ©π©πΉπ― I LOVE IT, BECAUSE I TOOK THE CARDS IN A 2500 PARLAY!!!. NOTING BUT BISCUITS AND GRAVY BABY!!!β€β€β€β€β€ππππππ―
Monday night football, this is bullshit…… sick of money , f money ,f money.
Dallas is a shit show. HAHAHAHAHAH
The Cowboy's Blow big time!!! Bloooooooooooow!!!!!π₯π₯π€‘π
The coaching staff is average, the defense is bad, and the owner is a few beans short of a Mexican Plate. These are simple facts. Im not hating on Dallas ,but rather just honestly describing them.
2 field goals makes this a 11point game I don't understand y I pick the dumb coaches for my parlay
dont trade !!! Dallas does not have a QB to make up for a bad defense. sell and get draft picks
EMBARRASSING!!!
I feel like that jets fan
βI hate this teamβ¦ I was born into thisβ¦β
I think they are fixing their own games. There is no way they are playing hard, missed easy tackles, and they started playing in the last five minutes. Bull shit fixed by the players like the NBA!.
Need an investigation
What the hell is wrong with Dallas?
The Cowboys are toast! Their defense is absolutely putrid! They constantly miss tackles and opposing QB's are torching them with long passes especially on 3rd downs! Then there are all the penalties many of them absolutely stupid drive killing for them and keeping drives alive for their opponent's which is simply lack of discipline. The defensive coach should be fired! They have the 2nd most penalties in league! Dallas wil never win another championship as Iong as Jerruh is the owner! He doesn't care if they win a championship as long as he holds the distinction of owning the most valuable sport team in America and continues making money from all of their merchandise people keep buying tickets. With only 3 playoff appearances since 95, They are an absolute joke and will continue being a joke as long as Jerruh is the owner!
DAMN YOU JERRY JONES AND MATT EBERFLUS WHOS gonna save Dallas now?
DAk. Sucks big time!!!!
Reporting from the future, almost every Cardinal that counts was in the positive. As a Cardinal fan i am stoked even though I know this year is a loss.
Qui-Gon Dimm (wit) "pick the bad news boys to win in a blowout, trust me, I know what I'm talking about"π€₯
