The Bengals have the three worst PFF graded rookie defenders
November 3, 2025
Not shockingly, they also had bad college production scores.

The easiest way to fix their drafting problem is to value production over whatever they value now
It’s kind of impressive if you really think about it
Bengals draft “projects”. Sure they could have drafted immediate impact players, but Tobin is smarted than all the experts.
Huh, the guy I really wanted us to pick is #1. Interesting. (I don’t think the other 3 were really options for us, Jihaad is the only one where he was available to us at an appropriate pick given what analysts had predicted).
I mean technically they are making an immediate impact, just not a good one
Well it certainly helps that the top 4 are on defenses that have at least 1 other talented player.
What we need to do going forward is ask Duke Tobin who he wants to draft and then take the guy who’s the least like that player
How is it humanly possible to be this bad at drafting? You’d really have to try hard to be this horrible.
You almost have to purposely draft this bad
If you want guys that are good at football, pick guys that are good at football? Sounds reasonable, but how does my ego get stroked?
At least half the sub would shit on Bengals analyst when they spoke up about who and where the Bengals are drafting, turns out they were correct.
While I hope that we can all agree that people within the organization need to lose their jobs over this.
I can understand playing hard and making slight adjustments each week, but this team is losing and laughing off interviews talking about “see you Monday!”
1 and 2 were the two guys I wanted the most in the draft, in reverse order.
Nice. So the number on the left is their PFF ranking? And the number on the right is their general production score that GG gave them going into the draft?
Turns out drafting bad production players hoping their athleticism will carry them as a rookie is a bad strategy. Who’d have thought.
I thought knight had been doing better
Holy fuck. The front office is so bad
Problem is they had to get out of the Pacman, Burfict dirty-culture and media narrative. Since Zac arrived they only went for premium character, mother-in-law’s dream. The irony is that what they need right now is exactly 3-4 players like James Harrison, Pacman, Burfict. People who dont take shit and destroy players who dont play to their potential or give their all.
I mean to be fair, Barrett Carter is statistically probably the best Clemson defender of all time. The others though, I get it
Honestly Chad Johnson, with his work on the Madden rating system, would be a better consultant than whatever the hell the FO is doing right now.
I mean do we know how to pick em or do we know how to pick em
That’s embarrassing…
If linebacker was such a need that the overdrafted knight in round 2, they could have could have gone with campbell and got talent and need
This to me just screams the problem is defensive scheme, coaching, and leadership. It’s hard for me to believe we drafted the 3 worst defensive players considering all 3 are early to mid round picks
0 idea how the other teams let Jihaad Campbell slip to the Eagles.
My middle schooler is obsessed with stats and doesn’t give AF about football. His fantasy draft with his buddies has him in first place. I’m confident he could come up with better picks than Tobin ever has had. By a mile.
I mean the rest of the defense is so ass it’s pretty hard to even judge individual talent
I wanted Campbell so bad, and my friend is an Eagles fan and reminds me every week how good Campbell is doing for them
College production? No we’re the Bengals FO and we know better than everyone. Workout warriors are the secret sauce to winning. Shemar will get his first sack any day now. Any day…
Jihad Campbell 90, omg, he was a need and easily the best lb, he is going to be a stud for 8 years, knight might have 2-3 as a solid player, shemar might be a role player in 2 years, man this fuckin sucks
I guess having the league worst scouting department does have an impact.
i can not express enough how much i will never understand the shemar Stewart pick
