Not gonna lie, pretty proud of this one, I’ve been hoping for some JVR heroics since I started doing this, I’ve had it in the queue for a while now.

Playing in Vegas with three of four wins in the bag. Feels like we’re playing with house money. We be nice to add a little jackpot tonight.
The fact that every team in the east is above 0.500 is nuts, so I looked up the east vs west record so far this year: 52-28-4 (0.643). Hope to see some of our competition start dropping some games to WC teams!
Despite the hot start I can’t shake the habit of taking an early peek at the draft class. There’s a lot of good news as the first round talent seems to go a lot deeper this year, so hopefully we are drafting a little later but can get similar value to the last 2 years. Also I believe we are due to draft a D man and there are a ton available of all different skill sets. Obviously draft BPA but best case is we start developing an eventual final piece to the future top 4.
I’m really excited about Malte Gustafson, big Swedish LD who skates well. Seen as a potential minute muncher but has some tools that could develop into offensive upside. He will likely be gone if we pick where I hope we are picking but if his offense doesn’t jump off this year and he stays in the J20 league most of the year I could see us being able to make the playoffs then snag him in the second half of the teens in a dream scenario. There are a lot of more offensive defensemen and RD who are generally more coveted and may get picked first and push him down to us. Just seems like a perfect fit to lock down our eventual top 4 for a long long time.
Losses don’t count if I’m sleeping through them but Wins definitely do. Let’s get some points tonight
