Not worth it in my opinion.

  1. He will walk or be traded for less, not worried about the idiotic bengals FO, even if we don’t get him.

Carl Ganderson would be a perfect fit

  2. That would be such a dumb trade at this point. The Niners should just stand pat unless they get a good deal. Honestly, they should be trading out players for the next draft then focusing on contending next year.

  3. 1st round pick and $16m of our remaining cap space for 8 games of an already injured DE that we won’t want to (or even be able to for that matter) sign to the type of extension he’s going to demand.

Unless this dude is single handedly winning us a Super Bowl (he’s not) then it’s not even close to worth it.

  4. First round pick is what it takes to land him now. It’s all subject to change by the hour as the deadline approaches.

  5. The ONLY way they get a 1st is if it’s a sign-n-trade deal, which I doubt anyone is doing. For a midseason rental, he’s worth a 3rd or 4th.

  6. They are insane.
We’re the most desperate team out there and we wouldn’t give them that.

  7. Feel like we’re past entertaining trades like this after yesterday. At this point it would take someone like Myles Garrett or TJ Watt single-handedly transforming this defense. There’s no point in giving up draft capital this year

  8. 1st rounder? Keep it. Not worth it for this banged up season. Let’s just have fun out there and get a positive record, maybe a wild card spot.

  9. Screw it, guess we play with the cards that are dealt and see how far we can go? I would never mortgage the team for a part-time player, keep our picks and draft some O linemen and DL next year.

  10. Please no. We are not making a run this year, the coaching staff are doing an amazing job, even if we drop to .500.

    Keep the picks.

  11. Of course that’s their asking price. Last week he wasn’t available, now it’s a 1st round pick, they’re just fishing for what they can get.

  12. I’m not giving up a first round pick for a half season rental.

Pivot to the Titans. They have Arden Key and T’Vondre Sweat available for far less.

  13. Bengals will be lucky to get a 3rd for him but this is standard negotiation. It will not cost a first. Given the Niners draft track record I would just pay aggressively and lock this stud up with an extension if its possible

  14. Better to see what kind of contract Trey wants next year rather than giving up any draft picks

  15. Not worth a 1st , but then again most of SF 1st rnd picks haven’t lived up to the hype so this is something to think about 🫣

  16. I doubt he is coming to the 49ers, and I really don’t see which team would give up a first round pick for him considering his age ect.

  17. I say don’t do it. The amount of injuries you are basically sticking your thumb in a broken dam and then having to pay the price for it next year

  18. The annoying thing about this season is I still think the Niners will end up in the playoffs.

So they’ll be just good enough to get there but most likely done in the wild card because they’ll run out of gas playing backup all over the place.

Usually we’re SB contenders or battling for a high draft pick. Drafting this season doesn’t help as much as it usually does when we end up top 10.

  19. We need to think beyond this season. They said Bosa’s rehab will take longer since this is his second tear. Williams and him won’t be back until mid next year. We need to bring players in that can play not just this but next season. We can’t afford paying Trey a new contract next year.

  20. this season is so effed even though we’re seemingly doing well, which is from beating atrocious teams. just come back next season and try again. we’re not going far this post season.

  21. Lol someone may try that trade, but the 49ers absolutely wont. I dont blame them. If he had more years on his contract, maybe. Im curious to see what we do, if anything.

  22. This is just merely an idea. It’s not very serious. Why not trade Bosa and Aiyuk and a couple of picks for Max Crosby?
