These are two culprits running our Nola teams into the ground

  1. Negative, loomis and Payton bet 10 years of team on 3 years of Bree’s availability.. don’t just blame loomis

Which.. when you think about it.. makes Payton a Rat jumping off a sinking ship

  2. Sometimes you swing and connect, other times you miss but man, we’ve had a few big misses lately.

  3. A lot of blame needs to go on Jeff Ireland too. He’s the head of college scouting and asst GM. He’s a major part of who they draft. If his evaluations of lineman were actually good, the saints would have good offensive and defensive lines with how much draft capital they’ve invested in those position groups. Instead they still need to improve both units because most of the picks haven’t panned out.

  4. I’ve made plenty excuses for Mickey at this point, but both teams are just complete dumpster fires at the moment. I thought him stepping away from the Pelicans several years ago to focus on the Saints side of things was supposed to be a good move but things have gone downhill quick since them. At some point you just need some new blood and a fresh set of eyes and I think it might be about that time.

  5. A lot of people don’t seem to understand what Mickey Loomis does. He’s responsible for hiring executives/coaches and the overall direction of the team. He runs the financial side. He is not responsible for making personnel decisions. If you wanna blame him for the Carr signing and us trying to remain competitive in a weak divsion go for it. I personally think the decision made sense considering how elite our defense was in the years before that signing, but I get criticizing it. We are CLEARLY rebuilding now, so what’s the issue? We have huge problems with drafting, but he isn’t the one picking players. It’s a combination of the coaches and Jeff Ireland. If you want a boogeyman go after him, at least there’s an actual chance he gets fired.
