  1. His recovery must not have gone particularly well? Damn. Hate to see him go out this way.

Dude’s been here a while. We traded Duda for him.

  2. Absolutely makes sense.

He probably isn’t ready for opening day and he will take up a 40 man spot for the offseason while the 40 man is already right

You can probably sign him in ST for the same contract once the 60 day IL opens up

  3. you know, if I had a nickel for every time Drew Smith started a season looking awesome only to have it go off the rails after catching a first pitch from a Sports Illustrated swimsuit model, I would have two nickels. It isn’t a lot, but it’s weird it happened twice.

Best of luck, bestie 🫡 I’ll always remember you

  4. God’s speed, Drew. I will always remember the super model memes from a couple years ago.

  5. If no one scoops him by ST, I would bring him back. But he’s not ‘lock up the 40-man roster now’ good.

  6. Just wait and see how Stearns screws up the Mets this off season. Dom Smith will be back at first

  7. So let me get this straight– You sign a guy while he’s recovering from Tommy John for 2 Years with a Year 1 opt out, with the intention to keep him so when hes back you from Tommy John you can use him, and now you get rid of him. Little odd to me

  8. Was the longest tenured Mets pitcher on the current team. Hope he comes back on a minimum contract or a minor league deal. Also Loved him for the fact his warmup song was Electric Feel. Hope he’s able to pitch in the majors again.
