Right move, surprised couldn’t trade him for a minor leaguer but he seemed to forget to hit.
His catch and multiple HRs in 22 postseason helped him earn a ring.
Sucks, but his one strength was obliterated by scouting and injuries. Will never forget the snow angel catch and Realmuto’s face after that catch. Iced the series.
outrighted?
He has enough service time to refuse the outright assignment so he will most likely become a free agent.
Don’t think he put in the work during the 2023 offseason to really cement himself into this lineup. Dusty called him out on it and when it became public knowledge later that year after Rome did some digging he was never the same. Confidence got obliterated
Nothing but love for a “forever” Astro, but the first 3 seasons averages of 117 OPS+, 259/336/449, 17 HR a year, then two years of 63 OPS+, 211/273/301, 6 total HR’s was a drop off I never saw coming.
Here hoping he finds success with someone else.
The Chas Chomp was the highlight of any recent Astro home game
Will always remember the catch
I’m so tired of falling to my knees at my local HEB
I’ll always remember you Chas “Both Cheeks” McCormick
Pour out some banana pudding for our boy
Chas believer to the end 🫡
I still think he can play, just needs to be given a fair shot and he wasn’t getting one here. He’ll definitely find a major league team because his floor is a really good defensive corner outfielder and competent center field defense.
They man had earned his place in Houston history
He and gurriel were lowkey monsters in that ‘22 postseason. I remember him taking Cole deep game 3 in the alcs.
I wish him the best, I’m sure some team will sign him as a utility outfielder. His defense is quite good
