BREAKING: New Orleans #Saints TRADE Rashid Shaheed to Seattle Seahawks for much-needed draft picks

The New Orleans Saints finally make a move at the trade deadline, sending wide receiver Rasheed Shahid to the Seattle Seahawks in return to for fourth and fifth round selections in the 2026 NFL draft. This does two big things for the New Orleans Saints. Number one, if you’re going to send out talent like Rasheed Shahid, you better get good value back. And they did. They got a fourth and a fifth round selection this upcoming year’s draft. That’s a third round value with the price that wide receivers were already moving throughout the day. especially Jacobe Meyers. The New Orleans Saints outdid the market. So that’s number one. Number two is that you were trying to recoup a little bit of what you gave up for Devon Vele, the wide receiver that the Saints have inexplicably underutilized so far this season. You got that value back. Plus, now you have the snaps available to actually get him more involved in your offense. So this is going to do a lot for New Orleans. Now, they got to make sure that they use the draft capital correctly, which has not been their strongest suit over the course of the past few years, but maybe 2025 shows a little bit of a turning of that fortune as they move forward. Not sure if the New Orleans Saints are done here either, by the way. The Indianapolis Colts, according to reports, were quote in the mix for Saints quarterback Alante Taylor before landing Sauce Gardner. in the mix seems to imply that there were other teams that were a part of the conversation. And so, New Orleans could potentially still be looking to get more deals done before the 3:00 p.m. Central, 400 PM Eastern time trade deadline. But now the Saints finally got something done and bring in some muchneeded draft capital to help with their ongoing rebuild.

  1. Thanks for the update Ross… I saw this coming… Let's hope Mickey gets some value for them in the draft… Or, possibly use them in a trade up situation depending how the board looks in the 2nd round, they could trade up back in to the 1st round for a solid OL player…

  2. Not a bad trade Shaheed couldn’t run routes Great athlete with tremendous speed but can’t run the route tree

And if I’m being honest Vele need to be the number 1 receiver and Olave the 2 Vele can be the Michael Thomas in a good offense

  3. Shaheed is better than vele let’s just get that out there.

So basically what what the saints have done is trade a 4th for vele (our fourth will be a top pick in that round) then we turn around and trade shaheed for late 4th and 5th round picks to recoup the early 4th we got.

So basically all in all we got vele a late 4th and late 5th

For shaheed and an early 4th round pick all in all when you look at the gran scheme.

I absolutely dislike the moves we’ve been making we were better off keeping our damn early 4th not getting vele, and resigning shaheed who is established, still young and the better receiver
