[Music] This is New York Giants Now by Chat Sports and I am your host, Marshall Green. Appreciate everybody for stopping by as we react to the latest rumors going down around the NFL with Big Blue involved on trade deadline day early in the morning. Josina Anderson tweeting out, “I’m told the Giants would like to trade guard Evan Neil today,” per League source. And I think the Giants are at the point of no return with Mr. Neil. He has been a bust of a draft pick. He has not even really been active on game day this year. And it has just been a a a total and horrible disaster after he was selected number seven overall in the first draft by Joe Shane. Joe Cena did tweet out a couple of days ago saying one team the Giants had exploratory trade talks on regarding Evan Neil was the Las Vegas Raiders. This occurred about one and a half to two weeks ago. Evidently, it didn’t lead to urgent action at said time. Nonetheless, it’s insight on who’s been inquiring. I think at this point, if you can get anything for Evan Neil, you do it. I don’t understand why you would want to keep him. He’s going to leave in free agency uh for nothing. And if you can get back a seventh round pick at this point, I would do it. I could understand why any team would be interested in trading for Evan Neil, but uh I would be shocked if he turns it around elsewhere. Four teams that I could see making a trade for him include the Las Vegas Raiders, the Houston Texans, the Los Angeles Chargers, as both of their starting tackles are out, and the San Francisco 49ers. There were reports coming out of Sunday’s loss for the Giants against San Francisco that they may be interested in a couple of the New York Giants draft busts, and of course, there’s a lot of them under Joe Shane. and it starts with Evan Neil at the top. So, keep your eyes on these four teams to potentially trade for Evan Neil. Jaylen Hyatt is a name to monitor here on trade deadline day as well. Um, look, I think it’s been a showcase over the last couple of weeks for the Giants to try to put any tape on display for Ev uh for Jaylen Hyatt. I mean, they put him at kick returner on Sunday and he said he hadn’t done that since high school. So, they’re giving him every opportunity to show what he’s worth or if he’s worth anything. And I don’t know if I would trade him for a seventh round pick. I mean, I don’t know if he’ll ever turn it around with the New York Giants, but he is under team control for one more year and maybe with a new head coach and maybe with a new offensive coordinator, he can find his groove. Shout out to the Giant Insider podcast and newspaper. He tweeted out, “I asked Jaylen Hyatt if he wants to remain a Giant. He said yes. I just want opportunities to make plays.” He then said, “I asked him if he feels he’s been given those opportunities.” And uh the Giant insider wrote, “Hyatt gave me a long pause and didn’t really answer.” And I don’t really have much to say about that. Like, of course, he’s frustrated. Of course, he wants more opportunities, but I think there also needs to be some self-reflection and holding yourself accountable to the point of you have gotten chances and you haven’t made the most of those chances. With Jaylen Hyatt, maybe trade him for a sixth. Uh for Deontay Banks, I kind of lean towards just getting him off my football team. I don’t think he embodies what a winning professional football player is supposed to embody. I also have the idea that maybe he can turn it around under a news DC, but this would be the third defensive coordinator of his career and the third defensive back coach. So, um I don’t know. I think there’s some talent there. I don’t think he has the right mental uh focus and the competitive compete. He doesn’t have the compete level and maybe he just doesn’t want to be here. I don’t know. I think he might just be worth getting him off this team. Russell Wilson is a player that I would trade for anything at the trade deadline. There’s been some rumors that teams have called the Giants and that there are rumors that the there are teams across the NFL that are looking for a backup veteran quarterback. I appreciate Russell Wilson and what every everything he’s done for the New York Giants as a leader and as a teammate. Um, but I think you have your backup quarterback of the future, and that’s Jameus Winston. My question to you before we now transition to players the New York Giants have been linked to this morning. Do you think the Giants make a trade today? Type Y for yes. Type N for no. I want to hear from all of you down in the comments section. I really do sit on the fence here 50/50 like a coward. I understand why they would make a trade. I understand why they would not make a trade. I could legitimately make an argument for the New York Giants to go all in on Jaylen Wadd. I could also make an argument for them to not go all in on Jaylen Wadd. And one thing I’ve kind of learned is you need to be 100% convicted if you are going to feel if you are going to make a trade. And I I have a hard time letting a GM that’s on the hot seat give up future assets which it would cost to acquire Jaylen Wadd. Reports are coming out it would take a first round pick plus. I’m not trading the Giants first round pick. They’re going to be picking inside the top 10 again in the Joe Shane era. So I wouldn’t do that. If it was a second and a fifth, I’d do it. If it was a second and a fourth, I’d probably do it. If it was a second and a future three, I’d probably do it, but I would do it. I I’m not sure I would let Joe Shane do it. But I also believe you should always be trying to add good football players at the age of 26. That’s what Wadd is right now. And he will continue to be for at minimum the next five, six years. Chris Ave, same boat. You need a receiver. you need to give Jackson Dart some help, but you also want to think about next year, which also means you want to think about roster building. Um, so I would be okay with that. I think it’d be a little less expensive than Waddle, but I think a second round pick is probably what it would cost. I always feel at the trade deadline, you always got to overpay as well. Rasheed Shahid is a name that’s been floated around as a Giants trade target over the last couple of weeks. Sports came out of New Orleans that they would like a day two pick, meaning a second or third round pick. No can do King Wasabi. I am not trading a second or third round pick for Rasheed Shahed. He’s a little bit better version of Jaylen Hyatt and he’s a free agent at the end of the year. And that that brings me to Jawan Jennings. You got to see an up close personal look at him score a touchdown against the beat up Giants secondary like Shahed. He’s a free agent at the end of the year. And to me that should make them a lot cheaper on the trade market. like if I would do a six for a seven and Jawan Jennings, but um I don’t know. I don’t know. Calvin Ridley, he’s a good player. Um he was one of the best receivers in the NFL. Then he had too much fun on FanDuel, I guess, and he’s no longer that guy anymore. It’s not that expensive to trade for him when it comes to dollars and cap money. Uh maybe you could trade a day three pick for him. That’s something I would be interested in because you’re not sacrificing the future. But then I was think like why would the Titans trade away their number one wide receiver while they have a rookie quarterback and it doesn’t make that much sense um to me. Brandon Cooks is a player that I would actually keep my eye on. Who knows if he wants to be traded. I think at this point that kind of matters when you’re a veteran who’s returned to a team that you once played for. I would trade a seventh round pick for Brandon Cooks. Uh I would maybe even trade a sixth round pick for Brandon Cooks. Um, but who knows if they will do it. Jacobe Meyers is a name that’s been linked to this football team. He’s a good player. I think he’s a solid wide receiver, too, in this league, but he is a free agent at the end of the year. And who knows if the Giants would be willing to go out and make a trade for a player that’s going to be a free agent. I just don’t think they’re in a spot right now to make a big addition. As my fl my phone is blowing up with deals. Um, nothing new. We’ll get to some trades that have gone down today, but I I just don’t see the Giants make it a big addition. And that that’s what happens when you’re entering the trade deadline with a hot seat GM. Like it stinks. Like entering the trade deadline with a hot seat GM stinks. You’re not going to add anybody because he might get fired. And I I I even kind of like want to hold off on potentially selling assets outside of the draft bus you’ve made because you may not be the guy next year running this team. Other teams in the NFC East have been active though. The Dallas Cowboys making a trade with the Cincinnati Bengals sending a seventh round pick to Cincinnati to acquire Logan Wilson, the inside linebacker. He’s had some good years in the NFL and um I don’t know if he’s still got the ability to be an impact player. He once was that, but the Cowboys still trying to add some talent at the deadline and reports are coming out they may uh acquire Minka Fitzpatrick at this point. And the good old Philadelphia Eagles who are also in on Minka Fitzpatrick. I also saw that the Cowboys were in on Bradley Chub. So, every team in the NFC East is getting better. The C the Eagles make an all-in trade. a third round pick for Jaylen Phillips. The ability for them to do that, it’s because they had three first round picks this year, uh, three third round picks, excuse me, in the 2026 draft. And when you have draft currency like that, you can spend it. And, um, shout out to Howie Roseman. He gets it done. A lot of people were upset the New York Giants did not make a trade like this with the Baltimore Ravens to acquire Gy Alexander. And look, I get it. Gyier is a name. He’s not the same guy that he once was with the Green Bay Packers. I kind of believe if the Ravens are trading you away for chump change like they got back, they probably don’t think you’re any good. And I’m going to trust the evaluation of the Baltimore Ravens. So yeah, I would like the Giants at a corner to get better for nothing, but um I’m not going to sweat over it at this point. So that’s it. That’s everything we’re hearing this morning. More news will come out and we’ll be reacting to it live on the channel. 1. I see is either keeping Daboll and firing Bowen and shoen. Hire dc assistant I forget his name but heโ€™s been a DC before and then hire Brandon the assistant GM as the new GM

  2. the only trade I want is dabol fired and joe schoen plus Shane bowen the defense coordinator the giants is not going to win if they keep these losers around that wo I ld be best trade for the giants men

  3. Do you honestly believe another team wants our junk? We couldn't give those players away at this point. Also, I don't beleive we're now getting anyone. Why would Mara would allow Shoen to make any moves that effect next year, as were not sure if Shoen will even be back..
