As we can see here, most at bye week practice are rookies. But not all rookies are there. Fairchild, Knight, Carter and Rivers have probably been the top 4 out of this draft class for us, and that’s clearly because of the dedication they’ve shown. Whereas for the D-Line rookies and second year players (probably the players who need the most practice of all), numbers are very low. I don’t think it’s just a coincidence of how bad our pass rush is without Trey.

Demetrius Knight i feel is gonna be something special for us, just gotta develop him
The whole damn defense needs to be there. Overpaid jackasses.
Knight and Carter are the last ranked LB’s in the entire league according to several different website measurements. They both look lost in space and tackling is horrible. We could have had our alpha D leader in Jihaad Cambell who is highest ranked rookie LB. I am not sure there is anything at all to be excited about with these two rookies, Knight is also old and not going to improve at all.
I am not surprised in the slightest, that Shemar Stewart is not there.
We’ve seen this a million times before. He’s a guy with great physical attributes that has enabled him to dominate at football until he is surrounded by other guys with great physical attributes that don’t just work hard, but try to work harder than everyone else. Then he falls off the charts, as a result.
Major difference here is, Shemar fell off the charts at the college level and the Bengals should have f’n known better. Again!
EDIT: If Shemar was healthy, show of hands here, who thinks he would be there today? Be honest.
Knight is the only guy i have any real confidence in, he’s my favorite pick from the draft by a mile
Shemar better be careful. Cedric might take his spot
The difference between the players that give a shit (List above) and the players that don’t
The Georgia Bulldogs showed up!
But I guarantee all of them were at the bengals Halloween party last night…
It seems like the guy that looks like he’s cosplaying a football player, should be there. Shemar Stewart is absolutely a waste of a uniform and helmet.
I still really hope Jenkins develops into something, because I was really high on him at the draft
Guess that’s on me for expecting a lot out of an undersized DT whose main skill at college was runstopping and not pass rush
LMAO this is a winning team.
Jaylen Rivers is one of my Favs.
I got nothing against Barrett Carter and D Knight. I can’t hate on Rookies put in an awful system who are ACTIVELY trying to be better.
Shemar Stewart is injured (before we grab our pitchforks)
Wait, they can choose not to come to practice and it’s fine? Is that just a bye-week thing?
I’m not a Zac Taylor apologist by any stretch, but I firmly believe it’s pretty obvious what goes on with these drafts. Mike, Katie and Troy, through Duke, are the ones doing the Cedric Obueghi, John Ross, Jackson Carmen, Myles Murphy, Shemar Stewart etc. bullshit. And I don’t care how much he fist pumped, Burton just doesn’t seem like a Zac pick.
Remembering that for him it’s all about leadership lunch pail guys and you can see that through the offense, usually, lower draft picks.
Everyone, even athletes, need a day off. Didn’t read into this.
Stewart needs to be sent to the practice squad. He’s a fucking joke.
The Vets are washed up and younger players run around with their heads chopped off.
Missed practices should result in a pay deduction that’s directly funneled into beer discounts on game day.
The fuck is Shemar Stewart? Embarrassment to the city I can’t believe dude held out like a big shot lmao way to have that spotlight fixed squarely on you for all the world to see you be absolute dog shit
Never understood who practice could be optional for people getting paid to be there.
Yeah, can’t forget the kicker. Adding him in feels like a slap in the face fr lol
Is the bye week practice optional?
The fact that players can miss practices during a bye week is wild to me. I have never known this.
