Miami Heat Are Bam Adebayo ‘s Team Now? | Ja Morant Tries The Ol’ Jimmy Butler Joy Playbook
Hey, welcome on in guys. Tobin here with you. And thanks for checking out the channel. Your Miami Heat. They got the off day today as this is November 4th and uh a little before 5:00. Miami Heat will close out their road trip tomorrow in Denver. A place that has truly truly been a house of horrors for the Miami Heat. Not a place they win in the regular season. Uh this is from our boy Anthony Chang of the Miami Herald. Um, which I mean, oh, I was just watching this highlight that was on his Twitter account from Bam yesterday on Harden. Oh, that was good. Bam’s had some, man, he’s been he’s been good. I want to talk a little bit about Bam here in just a second, but here he says, uh, Heat’s nest next test comes on Wednesday in Denver. the last regular season game the Heat won in Denver November 30th, 2016 when Assan Whiteside totaled 25 points, 16 rebounds to lead the Heat to a 106 98 victory over the Nuggets. Yeah, simply put, the Nuggets have owned the Heat uh every which way for a long long time. Um not a team that they have a lot of success with. They of course got that one game in the top hats in Monles’s gentleman sweep. I actually got mine. Yeah, I just got my new top hat. Remember I burned my old one. It was a close set. Um didn’t work. My my little ritual to try and avoid the gentleman sweep. Depressing series to go to. But um you know Miami going into this I I said going into this road trip that I would be very very satisfied if the Miami Heat had a two and two trip and I still stand by that. I think that that would put them in a really good place. Denver’s yet to lose at home so far this year. Uh Joker been an absolute monster as he is. I mean, you know, he’s averaging almost 23 points, 13 rebounds, and over 11 in assists, and over two steals a game so far. He’s just been he’s been a monster. And it is funny because I am excited to see the match up between him and Bam. I think this is actually one of those guys that Joker really does respect going up against. And and I would also like to see, you know, Nicola Yovic in his, you know, going up against his Brat there, his teammate from team Serbia. I think if we were to say anything, you know, of people who would want to have a nice sendoff for the road trip, Yoic could definitely use that. Though he did have that clutch basket in the in the fourth, it’s been a bit of a rickety trip for him and so I think it would really uh it would really buoy the Miami Heat if they could get something from their uh their their their their young Serbian forward if they can make something like that happen. But Bam has been amazing. Um really this year has been um I thought you know going into this year I’d said that this is a legacy season for Bamabio. Not that my that you know he’s going to be cemented in all of these record books. He’s probably going to finish this year the second leading scorer all time in Miami Heat history. There’s a chance he could pass Udonism for alltime rebounds. With the way that he’s going, he currently leads the Heat in rebounds per game. He’s averaging 22 points per game, which is technically the leading scorer because Norm Powell has uh has missed half of the action so far. Um but he has been, you know, he he’s been really really strong so far in his seven games, over uh 22 points per game, n over nine rebounds, and you know, the the shooting percentage starting to to tick up. Everybody’s made note of just how much more confidence he has in shooting the three. If those things are open, those puppies are going up. I mean, he is he is not shy about shooting it. But I think the other thing that’s just shown you how special this is because this has been a year he’s very confident in the offense and he’s very much buying into the offense. But the defense, I mean, he’s he’s really had some impressive performances this year and especially in crunch time, especially against some of the better players in this league. And you’ve talked about like the key stops that he had against Harden, Jaylen Brunson, um, you know, all the way to, you know, making We Wy have one of the least least efficient games that he’s had this season, which has obviously been hard because WMBB has been an absolute monster. Now, WBY got the last laugh in that game for sure with his big time block. And I don’t know if anybody’s prying that defensive player of the year award from him, but I I’ve been I’ve been happy to see that from Bam. He he seems to really be embracing this year more vocally as a leader as well. Andrew Wiggins made this point after the game yesterday about how Bam is just super vocal but super unselfish. Really lifting his teammates up in a in a very very positive way. It feels very much like it’s his team this year. It does. And I I was you know I was curious to see like all right who’s whose team is this going to be? people have kind of overlooked and said ah the he need a guy that he need a face but you know very much feels like this year is turning into no the the early going of this is no it’s Bio’s team and and and that’s why I was a little disappointed in the Lakers game I was like why why is nobody giving him the the basketball why can’t we get him the ball in his hands and we can make some things happen and sometimes his unselfishness will cost him and that’s been a frequent um complaint of some certain Heat fans But for the most part, when you need him in crunch time, he’s there. Even in the San Antonio game, he was having a very good fourth quarter uh before things got away from Miami. So, but hearing what you hear from Wiggins, from Norman Powell, who obviously this is kind of their first full impressions of him, it it’s really become uh it’s been it’s been very very impressive. And I think also, you know, there was a little bit of a okay, is he cool not being, you know, is he cool if he has to play more five than he maybe thought cuz where? No, he’s been dig in. Give me who you got. Give me Wii. Give me Zubot. Let’s see. I’m sure he’ll be on Joker come Wednesday night and we’ll see what he’ll do with that matchup. And then of course you could unleash him on certain other possessions. So even in the unevenness of the young bigs, Kell who had a really good game off the bench yesterday and Nico who’s still trying to find his footing. Um Bam has been more than steady. He’s been really really impressive so far this season. And um it is going to be interesting, you know, because it does feel very much like his team. But with Tyler Herro probably coming back if not by the end of next week then maybe the week after where he fits in all of this. And not that Tyler Herro is not going to get his shots because he certainly is. But it is it is one of those things where everybody’s keeping an eye on like all right what what is this offense? What is this team going to be with him coming back? And look, it’s not like the Heat are 7 and0. So, there is room for improvement. And there are places where they could certainly use Tyler’s punch. I’m not writing off all of a sudden that, hey, he comes back, the wheels are going to fall off this team. I know there’s a lot of skeptics that feel that way. I’m very curious to see what he does for all this. Um, I am curious who loses the starting spot. If it remains what it was last night, which was Bam Wiggins, Norman Pal, Davon Mitchell, and Pella, I would imagine Pella is the odd man out there, and that he’s going to go with the DaVon, Tyler, Norm Powell with I guess essentially of Wiggins at the four, B, and then if it does go back to Kel Wear, then I imagine both DaVon and Pellar are both going to go back. that defense that was a big swing in that game yesterday and I think that that is the thing that has to be noticed. You know the listening to Ty Louu and Bradley Beal after the game yesterday they’re coughing up the basketball to them was the big turning point of that game. What we had seen in the two LA games is yeah the Heat’s offense has been humming but they’ve had to find a way to clamp down. And that’s not obviously Hero’s forte. So, how do they keep that with all these guysounding? Because you really have three guards in Pella, DaVon, and Drew Smith who none of them are the offensive talent that Tyler Herro is by any stretch of the imagination, but they all can with the scoring that they’ve had from Norm Powell in the games that he’s been healthy, they can go and and and make life a living hell for certain ball handlers in these games. So that’s going to be an interesting thing to check out. And in the midst while meanwhile of all of it, it as we’ve said, this is a little bit of a pulsechecking season for the franchise and seeing where are things going. You got all this John Moran smoke that’s pluming around and not a lot of people seem too thrilled about signing or trading for Jaw because of all of his baggage, because of his declining numbers. Mind you, this is a guy I think at one point Tyler Herro compared himself to, thinks he’s in the scoring mold of, and right now, um, you know, do you do a job for Tyler trade straight up? Like, is that something that people would be super pumped up about knowing all the stuff that Jaw’s got had going on over the last couple of years? John Morant. It is going to be fascinating to see how this all unfolds because you got the likes of like Draymond Green, Patrick Beverly, two of the more prominent NBA podcasters are saying, “Oh, this puppy’s cook.” Patrick Beverly suggesting Houston or Miami. I don’t think Houston can really trade for John Morant. Um, and for the Heat, it is an interesting one because it’s like, hey, everybody feels like they’re going to come into Miami and be like, oh, no, no, no. I’m the man. And I don’t know, that’s another one of those things where like if you bring in a John Morant, yeah, he may think he’s the man, but I don’t know if he’s the man is I think this right now we’re seeing that Bam’s the man of this team. And that’s kind of the interesting ecosystem that Heat’s in right now because they got two guys next to Bam and Norm Powell and Andrew Wiggins who kind of just feel perfect for them. And look, there’s regular season good and then there’s postseason good. We got to figure out how this all falls. And then we’ve seen that with Hero. Like that’s his big thing that he’s got to leap up his postseason success as a as not a support guy, but as one of the leader lead guys of this team. But the John Moran thing, him going to fool Jimmy Butler, saying he doesn’t have his joy at odds with the organization, but then also like kind of being positive on social media about it. It really is like it feels like the days are numbered. I don’t know that they are. I’m just telling you it feels like they are. Um but man, that 2019 we saw today Zion got hurt. Maybe dodged a bullet on that one. That that that that damn hamstring of of Zion Williamson. Always always tricky. Mark Spear said today on NBA TV on John Morant, “Four of the execs that I talked to today said they have no interest in trading for John Morant. One said it was because of a combination of contract and off the court issues. Another suggested that if Josh traded, it’ll probably be problem star for problem star. I asked one current NBA coach if he would like to coach John Mor and he said, “I’m not sure that I’d want to.” And you know, problem like he don’t really have a problem. I mean unless it’s Terry Roier like he don’t really have a problem star right now. So I don’t I don’t know who that fit is right now for him to get his fresh start. And then again you also have to mind you with the Grizzlies like this is their guy. This is their face of the franchise. What are they expecting back for him? Because the market doesn’t seem very robust right now. But are they going to fire another coach because their their their star player doesn’t get along with them?
Tobin discusses the Miami Heat closing their trip against the Nuggets, a franchise that has thoroughly owned Miami. Heat still undefeated when Powell plays and Rozier gone 👍👏🤗
Go get Morant, and we are a real contender.
8:03 That defense was insane. When that unit went to rest near the end of the 3rd and start of the 4th, the difference was night and day.
ROAD TO 45k subscribers.
I rather see the 2nd unit then the 1st unit play, but right now we have a great chance at getting Gianni’s with the picks we got and a lot of our players trade stock going up if we can keep Powell, trade herro, ware and Wiggins or sadly jaquez plus picks I think it’s worth it,then I believe we’re in title contention for years to come
If Bam can lock down Jokic, something he has never done, than this can be his team
Until then this is a team that is more than the sum of it’s parts & there is no one star
Ja would go to clippers. Boston or Milwaukee
Markenen to Miami for herro an and jovic
Love Tobin’s enthusiasm but this team is 4-3. They are 1 loss away from being .500. But we’re talking about them like they are a juggernaut😂. One thing for sure. Their offense is 100xs better than last year & way more fun to watch
Historically we’ve just been way too small for Denver
If Ja doesn't like how he's being coached in Memphis, he's definitely not going to like how he'd be coached if he's traded to Miami. We've got a great locker room right now, full of guys who work well together. Let's not throw a loaded glock into that space.
Herro would have to change his entire game for everything to keep going… Trade Herro and you dont have to pay him. 😎
We've seen Herro in the post season. So we know everything there is to know about him
Ja is a beast and ELITE. Herro couldn't be on Ja Morants level even on Herros best day. Ja Morant acutally believes hes better than Jordan. 😆 BUT WITH SPO coaching Ja who knows what JA could turn into. Which is why you make this trade if you can.
Morant is basically begging for a trade out of Memphis! We need to trade for Ja while his value is at an all-time low. He's just now entering his prime
Say No to Ja.
Get JA to miami ! Yall are dangerously sleeping on what the miami heat atmosphere would unlock in JA
No keep that foolish thug over in Memphis. We don't need that behavior in Miami.
Ja won't like it here in Miami. But you know what, I felt that way about Jimmy. Jimmy was fine until it became about his money.
this the yr of ending streaks of losses, like we did Kawhi yesterday lol
On hero, it is not fair dudes is a bucket. But if no one else is respected, offensively, he is going to be doubled often, and playoff double teams are stronger than the regular season. Now with the offense around him he will be Great, Miami just has to make this work. And he also has to take that next step to being great.
Man anyone thinks Ja wont be a great pickup is delusional…FOR THE RIGHT PRICE, he would be the most talented player they have gotten since Wade and Bron…Look at Kyrie, no one wanted to touch him, and he helped take Mavs to the finals..They got him on the cheap… The Heat can acquire him and still have assets to make more moves down the road… Pat loves discounted stars like this, i expect a trade tbh..
Denver just has that elevated land
Denver sports teams should win
80% of their games and at least half of the championships 😂😂
No to Ja, No to Rozier
Hope Tyler doesn’t mess this vibe up. Don’t rush his return
It was his team last season. Just too many distractions around the team…
Bam is what Bam is… God man you do this every year Tobin. When will you learn?
No to Ja. Offense will start with him and ends with him. No creativity at all just iso. This offense miami is playing is something on heard of. Don't mess it up for a ball hog player. No to Morgant. Let another team deal with his drama and off field issues. No thanks
Of course it's Bam team 😅
