Yes he has a legit chance, but would probably be asked to play in the bottom six with a focus on defence and physicality – I’m sure he would be willing to change his game and do whatever it takes to help the team.

He’s a lock. Unlike the World Cup of hockey these games are officiated by iihf refs which benefits him over say a guy like Tom Wilson. The only thing going against 55 is that a lot of his success is playing with KC which is obv not an option. International is very different than events like WCH and imo plays into his hands.

IMO he’s a top 5 centre in the league and deserves a spot on the Canadian Olympic team.

He should I be on the team simply because he is deeply acquainted with the insane force of nature that the Americans will have in between the pipes.
He knows the way helly reads shots, and has probably scored on him in practices and training camps more than any other Canadian skater. That info is incredibly valuable to our team.

Not picking him would a bit insane. I know its early in the season, but I mean time flies we are at like 16% of the season played already. Mark is the league point leader. He is clearly a leader in the room for the Jets. I mean if you aren’t taking Mark you clearly have no intention of winning, and I would have to assume the entire team Canada leadership is betting against the team at that point. lol
