A lot of Padres fans on the tweet’s replies seem happy with this news.
Chandler just tweeted that he’s among a few finalists, so nothing in stone.
There’s a guy that Boston let go that I want to get
I don’t know anything about him but every one of the Padres’ regulars other than the catchers had an OPS+ of 99 or better. Doesn’t seem like they had much trouble scoring runs.
Fully prepared for him to be hired and 1/2 the vocal fandom to say they’re, “hopeful and optimistic that he can make it work,” then 1/2 the fanbase to say he’s complete trash in 3 years, all while only about 1/8 of the fan base know what the hell a hitting coach actually does.
