I like this from a fan standpoint and like Salvy (as does everyone else), but I don’t love this as a strictly baseball decision. How many 1B/DH types are we going to trot out there every single night? I’m not sure why you don’t just pick up his option and then give him whatever job he wants in the org. My caveat is this deal is fine if he doesn’t want to play every single day, I just don’t know if that will be the case.
Salvador Perez being a Royal for life is causing me to feel things. Who’s cutting onions.
2 years/$25 million. That’s crazy value considering his option for next season would’ve been $13.5 million
