NHL Highlights | Bruins vs. Islanders – November 4, 2025

Five goals and 10 points. He leads all NHLD with his five goals. Our puck drop is presented by Vanda Pharmaceuticals. And away we go on a Tuesday night on Long Islanders and Bruins for the second time. And if I’m them, I’m looking to dump pucks and and dump it, keep it away from the goalender, try and get something going down below the goal line. You know what a startling number I looked at is the Islanders dumping less than really. corner. That was the first face off all night that Corvette did not win cleanly back and it nearly led to a goal. Here’s Schaer again over for Barcelon. Looks to the back door and it’s deflected off the glass from Drewan. Sikas chased out of the face off. So Kyle Mlan steps in. Islanders have had the better of the two teams at the dot so far as to clear scores. Anthony Duclair after a faceoff win risks it all past the blocker of Swayman and Anthony Duclair breaks the ice in the second and gets going and not really a clean win but Duplair just up top and I think for Swayman tough to pick it up through all that traffic right there and it’s almost just turn around get it on net you’re not looking you know where the net is and that’s a big one for Anthony Duplair who the shift before got a little run there with Matt Barzell and of course the Islanders penalty kill is counted for three goals on your short hand and Makavoy across Posternok has a look. Simon Holmstrom greets him to the goal line opening up. Arbitson tries to jam it home and Sroen slams the door shut. Sroken just to stay with him the whole time. Watch this. He understands he’s moving so he’s got to get that push right off that right skate. And they send out him and Catick. And here goes Schaer. Schaffer up ice and over the line. Drops it. Barcel right on. Rebound there and Andrew Lee couldn’t put it home. Wraparound chance and a penalty called Horvat skate to stick. 20 to go on the power play. Drew across Schaffer. Lo doesn’t shoot. Horvat. Barcel turns. He tried to go into the top corner. That one caught the shoulder of Swayman and right back the other way and Romanov will win a race out in front of Arvdson. Arvitson closes in, separates him from the puck. Zaka shot, saveen. Lynhole to the goal line. Arbitson denied, rebound, they score. Victor Arvson ties the game. 739 to go in the second period. The Bruins come back to even it. How it ends up, but the Islanders here. I mean, a oneman for check. And he had guys back maybe for Romanov. He can move it with the puck instead of trying to make a play right away. I’ll give Arbitson all the credit in the world. Watch this thing go around. Watch a skate of Andersley. Boom. Back your own net. That stings after the Islanders carried that momentum. Arbitson, he’s been busy in that area of the ice and for Sroen who made a great save initially off the turnover. Nothing you could do in this situation that reathered what you had. You do this right now. I mean, you get right back at it with a for check. Yeah, I mean this happens in hockey games, right? It’s all about your mentality. Here you go. There’s a turnover. Barcels has Horvat through. Horvette scores. Islanders bounce back quickly with Bo Horvat’s team leading eighth of the season 2 one Isles. It’s hard work and that’s what it’s going to be to start this up. That’s a mil Heinman. Watch this as the play comes up the wall and the Bruins try to get going. Heinaman stick comes in right there. He breaks that thing loose. And I don’t know if there’s many guys as good as Matt Barzelle finding that little seam on a twoon-one. Yeah, he really is amazing at finding the seam. But again, to your point, Hicks, this is how you do it. You just keep doing what you’ve been doing. And the hockey gods, you got to trust them to reward you. And it was a horrible bouncement. Helicopter is far blasted ahead. Paul Mary tried to find Horvat. Intercepted by Zaka. Here’s Arvincson back in. He’s got the Bruins goal tonight. Arson delays. Zaka holds on to it. Goes to the middle. Back door. What a save for Soken. Psalaka scores. Pavle Zaka ties it at two. Power play goal. His third of the season. And then something else happens. But right there, I mean, there’s plenty of options. It’s easy as it gets for a big lane to the guy that leads their team in scoring. And that’s to 80 90%. It’s amazing because that seeing those two names just the memory flooded right back. Yeah, I’ I got I think a really strong memory. If I got in watched the game, that’s probably not a cross check. To your point, one referee called a penalty, the other is going to let it go. And now the Islanders are down. A man post to the front. Deflected up over the crossbar. Geeky for Posterno. Back door. Geeky saves. Sroken rebound doesn’t go. Four skaters lock. Horns in the corner. Here comes Schaer out of the box. And the Islanders have possession. Paul Mary stretch pass. Schaefer. Horvat shoots. Scores. Schaefer to Horvath. Second of the night for Bo Horvath. The Islanders retake the lead 5 minutes into the third period. You’re going to see this. Paul Mary throws a dart. The pass from Schaer was such a bullet that Horvat bottled it. Cal, what what kind of angle did he have there? He didn’t have anything really. And Zidorov actually did a really good job with his stick. But you see the last at the last minute here, Bo Horvat’s going to dip his shoulder once and then twice. And then Zidorov moves his stick to the inside and B is able to drag that thing just 6 in and let it fly. And he didn’t have a whole lot from Zidorov nor Swayman, but he found a way. Peek around the boards. It’s Janome on for Castellin. Fraser Mitten to the middle. Lithol shoots it. Just missed. Squirts back in front. Look out. Mitten with the shot. Save Sroen forward playing defense as this thing comes out. That’s D’Angelo chasing right there on the right side as Kyle Palary but looked late. Getting beat off the ice. And Flyn, a nice little angle there, but it’s not that one. It’s Mitten in front of the net. Great save by Stroen. I mean, he’s been sharp. The two that beat him, one was off his own player, another one a back door play seemingly again. This is a game that has been worth the price of admission. No doubt the face off to Dorov lost his footing. Look out here. Holstrom has Lee drops it. Schaer Holmstrom his shot saved by Swayman’s Barzel settles the puck down forces it deeper. Corvette in front. Hine man and his shot swallowed by Jeremy Swayman. Can’t get much more on it from a tough angle. Just an educated boy or Zach and a rather poor postronaut takes Mboy to the glass but squirts out three. Highlanders doing what they can to protect the house here. Runs back in front. Mid with a shotgun. Knocked down. Rebound. They score. For the third time tonight, the Bruins tie it and it’s Morat Hus Nadino here as the Islanders. I understand the want and the need to close quick, but as this thing gets going, you get two defenseman that are sort of pinned up against the wall and Heidan comes over to help out because he has to, right? coming off the wall. Hustadino off. Elevated in a first line roll tonight out with David Pastardock and the shot by Mitten. Some nice hands on Hadino off there. But a bit of a breakdown. Schaer right back in. Bust through the circle. Drives out front. Save Swayman. Rebound off the glass and down. That’ll do it for regulation. But the left-handed Well, you got two defenseman out here for a reason, right? You got a little chance on the power play, but it’s going to be four on four if they can’t convert pretty quickly here. Yeah. So, 16 seconds of power play time to start OT. Four on three. He’s bothered by Nadine. Also comes right back out. Here’s Schaefer. What a joy it’s going to be over the years to watch Matthew Schaeer. A threeon three overtime. He slips past Hadadino and then Lhol to the net. Schaeer for the win. Save made. Swayman Barcel trades places with Pell Horvette. Barcel saved Swayman. 11.1 left. Mitten against Druan. Druan with the puck off the draw. Islanders may have one last push. Home run feed ahead. Missed everyone off the end wall and we’re headed to a shootout. Ice who had the shootout goal in Philly. And here comes Holstrom, the fourth year NHL. Slowly delays, shoots, kick, save. I think that’s the issue. It may be I’m not going to go to that one right away. Alfred Neielson, you got to have two moves in this one. Swayman all over the lefty. Casey Middlestead takes it wide. Slows it. Sroken goes back hand and Sroken outlasts him. You got a quick goalender and those don’t add up well for middle status. Sroken just stays with him. The game hangs on the stick of Jonathan Truan between the circles. Flips it wide and the Bruins win and come from behind fashion. 4-3 the final. And that’s a tough hill for the Islanders to swallow.

Marat Khusnutdinov scored the game-tying goal and was the only one to find the back of the net in the shootout to power the Boston Bruins to a 4-3 win over the New York Islanders.

  1. This was such a good third period. Shame the highlights missed the gwg.
Bruins tracking OK for an 'AHL' team and khusy is coming up clutch, shootout goal and game tying goal. Loving his speed and grit

  2. Mittelstadt CLEARLY (to me) moved the puck backwards, away from the goalie…isn't that illegal? Or is it like traveling in basketball – not going to call a lot of them unless it's completely horribly blatant?

  3. Where is the SO OT WINNER – by the Bruins? That was a tough WIN to swallow? Not showing the OT winner. Yeah, welcome 2025 world of tragedy? BRUINS WIN!!!

  4. Bruins fans – highlights available from Bruins and NESN YouTube channels! Swayman – all 3 goals were softies on just 20 shots not like Bruins goals which were crafties!

  5. Is it not reasonable to expect every goal to make the highlights of a hockey game? Yet somehow you guys miss goals on a regular basis. It is quite impressive in a negative way how often you guys manage to miss them. Make a checklist and write the number of goals scored on it and check off that each goal is included in the highlights, problem solved, your welcome.
