If Giannis pulls this off, he’d match Wilt’s five season gap for the longest ever span between two separate MVP wins (1959/601965/66), while also setting a new record for the modern era (2019/202025/26)

  1. Realistically it’s gonna be tough for him to snag it over someone like Shai or Wemby

The Thunder’s winning streak is still going and Shai is playing fairly well himself. Wemby also is doing great in the West without his 2nd best player and is already a lock to win DPOY + another block title

Then there’s Luka who’s being pushed as one of the new faces of the league with electric scoring

I trust Giannis to **perform** like the MVP winner but knowing how big of a part circumstance and narrative plays in winning the award I’m not confident in him snagging it again

  2. These will come down but 34/13/7 on 68% shooting is an absurd stat line…just have to shake your head and laugh.

  3. Should’ve been the MVP favorite the past 5 seasons tbh. Something something voter fatigue.

Shai was never better than Giannis at any point, bros team is just stacked.

  4. He’s basically been a basketball God this year; defense, true shooting, assists, even the 3 point % have been elite Yea the mid range (except for the game winner) and free throws are still rough. The problem is the bar for Giannis MVP race and status amongst SGA and Jokic always seems higher for him. There are a lot of great players and Jokic is a magician on offense, but (being a homer) Giannis is such a dominant force he should be clearly on top, and should have been closer in the voting the past three years.

  5. If we’re being real, 2 MVPs absolutely does not even come close to summing up the dominance of giannis. While the postseason success hasn’t been overwhelming the giannis led bucks are one of the most winning teams of the era…

I think he’s also scored the most points in the decade. Giannis really deserves his 3rd… he’s out his body on the line for his team unlike any other player of this era.
