People got what they wanted didn’t they? Mills was our QB and what did that lead to? Zero TDs, constant 3 and outs, and passes that were consistently almost picks.
CJ is getting paid and this team has their franchise QB 🤷🏻♂️ anyone who says otherwise can eat shit
Relax
I’m pretty reactionary on game day like a lot of fans and I haven’t always been enamored with CJ but I am feeling pretty solid about him right now. He has looked really good in some games recently including against pressure and he started off really well against the Broncos before getting injured. The way Mills looked solidified that
We have to get the offensive ecosystem right and he has to eliminate these occasional games where he just looks out of it but. But if we can get that right I think he can be a very good QB and we’ve seen that

Im with you dog ✊🏿. Everyone else talking about we should sell or tank can not have a very good day.
Tua is an example of why you shouldn’t pay a mid qb lol
CJ is better than those guys too, guy can sling it but still throws a nice ball 95% of the time because that’s what’s needed. Team has a bad O-line and mediocre playcalling, he’s doing the best he can. Everyone who said they should play Mills saw what Mills was and now should stop talking about it. CJ is clearly the best QB on the team and a top 15 in the league.
He needs an online and a real offensive coordinator and he’ll be alright
title game crazy
So Mills is our only option?
You’d be an idiot to give up on DeMeco and Stroud. Caserio though, I think it’s time to move on. The line’s a mess and he’s had years to fix it. The Colts are out here making real championship moves while we’ve taken a huge step back. We were supposed to be ahead in development, but now it looks like the Colts might win the division with Daniel Jones of all people.
I agree that he’s going to be paid, but these examples basically prove that the QB market is whack.
Most of this sub is football dumb. Like shockingly dumb. CJ isn’t going anywhere
I don’t know why you brought up Trevor, Daniel or Tua. They are the exact reason some folks are skeptical on giving CJ a big contract.
I like CJ, but QBs are fucking expensive. If he gets a big 6 year / $300 million type of contract, that will greatly hinder us being able to improve in other areas… like RB, OL, TE. We need to make sure we have a QB that can play well, despite the deficiencies of the team.
It’s a big commitment, and I can understand people’s skepticism. If he’s struggling with this current offense, what makes you think we’ll be able to improve the talent around him w/ that much less cap space?
I love CJ! He’s an awesome guy and a great QB. I hope and hope things get better! Wish to see him and all our guys happy.
Hey the way I see it we gonna get a discount on his contract.
use the body, big dawg.
We screwed up pairing a rookie QB with a rookie OC. And did it again 2 years later with a rookie OC again. They need to fix that next season. I’m confident in CJ but he needs a veteran OC and a stable OLine or it’s just going to be more of the same until he wants out in free agency.
Agree
The only thing that this man is guilty of is giving us hope
People need to chill. I do not see people wanting neck to start like many people have stated.
I stand with CJ7 all day. Also didn’t mention he doesn’t have a run game.
The problem is clear. If they block for him, he’s good. When they don’t, he’s not as good. But he’s clearly able to make all the throws and the guy has proven his toughness. Build a line for CJ and he’s easily a top 10 QB.
Anyone calling for DM3 is an idiot. Mills had the same team as stroud and could only win two games. Trust me, if the Texans thought DM3 was it, they would not have draft CJ in the first place.
I feel like we are going to be giving 60 mil to a guy who needs constant perfection around him like at Ohio State for him to be able to deal. A guy who needs the OC to constantly dial up the right play, the Oline to never get beat, WRs winning matchups every play, etc.
The fact that Mahomes, Allen, Jackson, and hell even Baker don’t always get these things and still find a way makes them worth that money to me
I agree his offensive line is dogshit
Stroud deserves around 25 million per year but will want 50. If we dont fix the o line we might as well just punt the seasons away until we do.
Stroud is a good QB. NFL teams consistently overpay good but not great QBs as a result of principal-agent problems: doing so helps coaches and GMs keep their jobs more than it helps teams win.
Honestly, the stats back him up. CJ has led Houston to back-to-back playoff runs before turning 25, despite one of the lowest-ranked offensive lines in pass protection. That kind of consistency and efficiency at his age makes the extension conversation pretty normal, not premature.
Who is saying we need to give up on CJ?

I’ll just leave this here
Honestly think we win that game had cj not been hurt.
