Dickinson and Misa APPROACH Nine-Game Threshold | Sharks Face CRITICAL Contract Decisions This Week
Big- time decisions are coming as both Dickinson and Misa are crawling closer to that ninegame milestone. You’re Locked on Sharks, your daily podcast on the San Jose Sharks, part of the Locked on Podcast Network, your team every day. Hello, welcome to Locked on Sharks, the premier hockey podcast covering your favorite team in the Bay Area. My name is JD Young, caretaker at The Reef, also the co-host of Locked On NHL. I want to thank you for making it locked on Sharks your first listen, proudly part of the Lock on Network. We cover your team every day. If you want to be an everyday, all you have to do just follow on wherever you get podcasts and of course you can watch on YouTube as well. And today we’re going to be discussing some of the big decisions the Sharks are going to have to make very soon as both Sam Dickinson and Michael Misa are getting close to that nineame threshold. Uh and then we’ll talk about the uh defensive log jam. Uh what the Sharks could potentially do to try to alleviate that. So, uh, we’re going to talk about both, uh, Dickinson, how and Misa, how they played this season, uh, and the kind of, you know, pros and cons of sending them back to the OHL. Uh, so before we get to all that, do want to let you guys know that today’s episode is brought to you by FanDuel. Download the FanDuel app now by visiting fanduel.com and win $300 in bonus bets if your first $5 bet wins. So, uh, just as a quick reminder, this nine-game threshold I if you’re new to hockey, your contract, like I know hockey contracts can be very confusing and stuff, but just as a quick refresher for everyone, um, players on their ELC’s, uh, when they sign them before the age of 19 or 19 and younger, um, they have a nineame threshold, uh, where they can play nine NHL games before their contract kicks in. This is called the slider rule. Um, so players, uh, we see this all the time. William Equin famously, uh, is a a perfect slide rule candidate, right? If you remember when William signed, uh, after he was drafted, he signed right away. He played nine games uh, in uh, in the NHL before they sent him back to Europe. The following season, he played a full season in in the AHL. He played eight AHL games before sending him back or eight NHL games before sending him back to the AHL. um neither season he he went over nine games and therefore his contract didn’t kick in. Once you play that 10th game, uh you uh your contract kicks in and it is you you like you cannot the the team cannot kick the the contract down a a year, right? And teams like to do this because it gives them more time before they have to uh pay said player, right? Um so it’s it’s a big decision for the San Jose Sharks as both Dickinson and Visa are approaching this nineame milestone and the 10th game. Sam Dickinson, who’s played eight NHL games, uh, basically needs to play two more to have his contract kick in this season. So, we’re going to look at start by looking at Dickinson and how one because I think he’s the more interesting between uh, Dickinson and Misa, and two, he’s also closer to hitting that milestone. So, we’re going to look at Dickinson and how he’s performed so far this season. kind of discuss uh the options for him and why if he should go back to the OHL or stay here in the NHL. Um so let’s start by looking at how Dickson has performed. So uh Dickinson this year has played eight games uh zero goals, zero assists. He has eight shots on goal. He’s averaging 1403 time on ice. He’s played uh and then his Corsy4. So when Sam Dickinson is on the ice, the San Jose Sharks take 52.46% 46% of the shot attempts. My Sam Dickinson is also on the ice. The Sharks score 33.33% of the goals scored when Dickinson is on the ice. And we’ll hang on to that here in just a second. So Dickinson, I think it’s pretty clear to see that he has gotten more and more comfortable as he has gotten more and more NHL time and I think has really kind of settled into his bottom pairing role, especially with mini DRNA. Doesn’t mean Sam Dickinson hasn’t made mistakes, you know, and I think with Dickinson, right, for him, especially as a defenseman, is uh his mistakes just tend to be more catastrophic. Uh because when you’re a defenseman and you make a mistake, it usually goes in the back of the net. And the goalending hasn’t, you know, uh built hasn’t done much of a favor either. And it’s much like we talked with Ascrov yesterday, right? Where it’s been bad defense, it’s been bad goalending. And who’s to blame? It’s a little bit of both, right? But Dickson has done a lot of really positive things. Um, and he’s actually among the team’s leaders in some big-time categories, right? Uh, and again, like I know he’s definitely playing less time on ice than the other guys here, but um, looking at, you know, Cory4, so that is when you’re on the ice basically, are you generating shot attempts? And shot attempts usually lead to shots on goal, which usually lead to goals, right? Unless you’re playing the Kings and you score, you get 40 shots on goal. But I digress. So, uh, if you take out Bumul, he’s only played one game. Uh, so I I put the, you know, on Natural Cetric, I put the the game the time at five on this is only at five on five. So, Edmon strength where a majority of the game is played. Uh, he, you know, 15 minute threshold. So, you take out Mukumong because he only played one game. Sam Dickinson leads the team in core C4 percentage. He’s at 52.4. 46 core C4 right um for example the other defenseman Deese is at 50.29% or is at 48.43% 43%. Um Vincent Iorio 30 4306, Mario Ferdo 4206. Uh Lilligran 39.91. Nick Ley 37.57. And then John Clingberg, I know he’s only played a handful of games here at 30.89. So when Sam Dickinson is on the ice, typically the Sharks are doing positive things in the offensive zone, getting shot attempts, etc., etc. Um, you know, his his goal for percentage, again, it’s bad, right? It’s at 33.33%. Uh, he’s been on the ice for four goals, four eight allowed at uh 515. But you know that that’s pretty similar to most the other defenseman um on this team with the exception of Orlav who’s been really good in the goal four percentage. Everybody else uh is below 50%. Right. Um his you know expected goals for is second on the team. So and that this is among all skaters right when he’s on the ice the Sharks are usually generating goals and goals percentages. Um scoring chances four. He’s third on the team behind Orlav and Will Smith on when creating scoring chances at 50%. high danger chances when uh Sam Dickinson is on the ice he is third on the team at 54.55% high danger chances for so typically when when Sam Dickinson is on the ice good things tend to happen which is good right that’s what he’s helping to to drive play and again I know he’s playing limited minutes and the Sharks have have been pretty cautious with him with his time and stuff but he’s been a positive player for the San Jose Sharks and has clearly gotten better from game one to game eight and I think will continue to do so. And I was curious how he’s doing against his peers, right? And the three, you know, the two other names that come to mind are um uh Zoom of course who plays for the Minnesota Wild and Zane Perk who plays for the Calgary Flames. Both these guys part of the same draft class. Both these guys kind of in similar situations, you know, same thing with Perk who’s making that jump from OHL to the NHL. And Bull, you know, who played in college and a lot of Sharks fans are like, you should have picked Bull. I get it. I I get it. But you you look at like the scoring, of course, Bull is, you know, already racked up eight points in 11 games. Sam Dickson has yet to to score his point first point in the NHL. But Williams really doing a lot of his scoring, most of his scoring on the power play. He has one even strength goal and he has two even strength assists and then he has five points from the power play out of his eight. But if you look at the five on five numbers, Dickinson’s been better at five on five. So um pulling up from Dber Prospects, right? If you’re watching on YouTube, you can see this. If not, I I’ve got the uh I will go through the chart. Um so Sam Dickson is is rated as an effective depth defenseman when he’s on the ice. Again, his this is only through seven games. It doesn’t even actually include the game against um uh last night’s game against the Kings. You know, Corsy for per 60 like like you know he’s 54.3%. Corsad per 60 54.95. So pretty similar there, right? Um the goals for per 60 2.5 goals allowed per 60 like I said 4 point it’s at 4.52. So when things have gone wrong for Sam Dickson it’s gone really wrong but he’s done a really good job of of in his usage of being a plus defender. Uh looking at Z Buiam who they have as a struggling depth defender and he plays more minutes per game but um you know his goal for percentage is is actually less than Sam Dickinson’s at 27%. Uh he’s one goal per 60 games and is the goals allowed yes are better at 2.87 87, but um like he’s, you know, he’s he’s generating similar offense to to Dickinson, but he’s allowing more shot attempts and Dickens just allowing more goals, which is why it looks worse. So, they’re pretty similar players. It’s just Williams getting propped up by his um power play time when it comes to the production. And Sam Dickens has just gotten actually really unlucky that he hasn’t actually gotten more produ or any production. Um, and that feels like it’s going to course correct here very soon. When it comes to to Zay Perk, Zay Perk’s been extremely sheltered where he’s getting very low quality of competition, uh, very limited minutes, but, uh, is getting a lot of offensive chances. Like Zre’s basically just getting deployed in the offensive zone. Well, Sam Dickinson and Z Bull are typically not most of the time getting deployed in the offensive zone. So, Perex’s done more stuff offensively like his goal for percentage and stuff, but he’s also getting extremely sheltered compared to the other two. So, I think it’s a like the way Dickinson’s playing, I think it’s a pretty clear decision that yes, he hasn’t gotten the goals and the production, but he’s doing a lot of the other stuff right. He’s setting the foundation for him to be a successful player. And yes, you could let him go back and and be a big fish in a small pond in the OL, but it’s not going to make him a better player. And I think it’s pretty clear like Dickinson needs to continue to play in the NHL here uh and continue to grow and develop and um because he has done good stuff and you’re seeing less and less of the catastrophic decisions that still are happening. But I I I truly believe the production is about ready to hit because of the way he’s been playing, the way he’s helping to drive offense even in his limited roles. So, I’m I I I know the Sharks are still on the fence here, but the way he’s performing so far, I think it would be a waste of his time, honestly, to go back to the OHL. So, um that’s where I stand with Dickinson. So, we’re going to talk about Michael Misa, who’s even more of a clear-cut uh decision to just keep in the NHL. So, we’ll look at how Misa’s been performing so far uh here in just one second. The NBA is back and there’s no better place to get in on the action than FanDuel, the official sports betting partner of the NBA. So head to fanduel.com to sign up and play your game with FanDuel, the official sports betting partner of the NBA. All right. Uh before we continue with Misa, I do of course want to thank you for making a locked on Sharks your first listen. Uh if you haven’t yet, perfect time to subscribe. Of course, we’ll have reactions to uh all the Sharks games. We have some more interviews getting lined up here as well. And uh of course, you know, uh covering the best prospect pool in the NHL. So make sure you guys are following along wherever you get podcast. And of course, you can watch on YouTube as well. So, Michael Misa, who’s been a little bit slower burn for him to kind of start to get into the lineup here and, you know, is still on the very much like the the Will Smith, you know, no backtoback stuff like that. So, hasn’t gotten uh, you know, is a little got a little bit more runway to hit his nine games before the Sharks have to make a decision, but Misa is really starting to to come along here. Uh so Misa this season uh has played six games, has one goal, two assists with 12 shots on goal. Uh eight of those of course came last night’s game. He’s averaging 12 minutes uh a game. Corsy for 45.19% goals for 57.14%. Um so Misa uh when it comes to the Sharks here um is also among some of the leaders when it comes to production or you know kind of driving offense and such. Um Michael Misa uh is when it comes to shot attempts um he is uh he is eighth on the Sharks again getting rid of Mukuma Madulan. Um he’s eighth on the Sharks. He’s kind of nestled between Tyler Folio and Will Smith at a 45.19%. Um, you know, so kind of right there in the middle there. Uh, but actual like shots on goal, um, or sorry, not shots on goal, his goal for percentage, he is second in the on the Sharks. So 57.14%. So when Misa is on the ice, the Sharks are more likely to score a goal. Only Dimmitri Orof has a higher goals four percentage. Demetri Orof has really settled into the Sharks. That’s been my biggest takeaway. Um, you know, expected goals four. So, he is fifth behind Deise, Dickinson, Colin Graph, Jeff Skinner. Uh, Colin Graph and Jeff Skinner are both usually kind of Misa, you know, have been Misa’s team linemates, especially Graph, right? Um he’s at 52.32%. Again, when he is on the ice, the Sharks are usually generating positive things. Um scoring chances four, he is six on the Sharks at 49%. Uh you know, only four players are at 50 or higher, and that’s Tofoley, Dickinson, Smith, and Orlav. Um high danger chances four. He is second on on uh the team when it comes to creating high danger chances percentage like Michael Misa is doing a lot of really positive things and this is just at five on five again the most important stats come at five on five because that’s where majority of the game is played. So, and even looking at how Mis is performing, you know, again, back to the Dober prosp hockey, uh, you know, kind of usage chart here, he’s performing as an average top six two-way forward. Um, you know, again, the Corsy4 percentage is is not it’s kind of in the middle there with with with some of the rest of the Sharks, a team that constantly gets outshot. Um, but the goals for percentage, the goal is at six goals four 60. Uh, he’s at 3.52. goals allowed for 62.34. So he is helping you to produce uh a lot of shot a lot of quality uh chances here. Um so I I I think for Misa who right now is basically like we we’ve seen him continue to kind of take some big steps here and we’ve talked about yesterday. Um, you know, the the sharks have been very careful with his usage and minutes and stuff, but I think it’s it’s time to enter that like test your hypothesis phase and see what happens when you give him a little bit more minutes, right? and going from, you know, this 12 minutes a night and can you can you get up a little bit closer to 15 minutes a night and just kind of see can he continue to carry forward uh what we’ve been seeing very positive things in such a small amount, you know, such a small sample size. And I think that’s where we are at with MISA is okay, you you’ve been doing very well. What happens if we throw a little bit more on your plate here? and can you continue to be a positive player here? And you know with with Misa like I he’s the easier decision to be honest because I it’s one it’s easier to kind of hide a forward and you can kind of be a little bit more um you know select about his usage and and when he’s kind of uh put out there and stuff like that like it’s it’s much easier to kind of deal with with him as a as a forward. But he like he’s clearly too well I mean both these players are clearly too good to go back to the OHL and I I know the Sharks are are good. They’re going to play the we’re still making our minds up and stuff like that but I don’t know how you can like send both these players back to the OHL. Um because I mean Misa scored 134 points in the OHL last year. What’s he gonna do this year if he goes back? like he’s gonna be, you know, I mean, he was a two-point a game player last year. What’s he gonna do like in his time here? Like he’s just it’s just going to be a man among children here if Michael Mason goes back to the OHL. Like it’s obviously just wasting the rest of his season here if he goes back. So, um, and Dickinson, right, was was the CHL defenseman of the year and has clearly like gotten better and started to get used to the NHL speed here. And again, still like still some of the decision- making needs to be worked on, but you’re seeing that get better in real time. And even, you know, watching him in London beginning of last year was making some really dumb decisions and then by the end of the real the season like Dickinson, you know, you saw what Dickinson could become and how he’s continuing to, you know, get his game ready to be prof, you know, pro ready uh with London. So, uh I think it’s a pretty clear like it’s to me it’s an obvious decision that these two players are too important to the organization and the future of the organization to send them back. Uh because you need them to uh you need them just to get NHL games, you need them to get reps in the NHL. So, um, if you keep them both though, the problem is you’re now going to be over your contract limit. Uh, because right now neither one of their contracts have kicked in, you’re at 49 out of 50 contracts. Once both these kick in, you then are at 51 contracts and you’re over your contract uh, allotted. So, the Sharks are going to have to make a decision here and it’s most likely on the blue line. So, we’re going to look at some potential options for the Sharks as they uh most likely are going to have to move somebody if they want to keep both these players around. So, we’re going to get to that here in just one second. Let’s be honest, most of us can’t even name all of our financial accounts, let alone what we’re worth. Uh my wife, I’ve several of you guys have recognized me out in the wild before. It’s really cool. It’s It’s really weird, too. Uh, but my wife is never around when it happens and she always thinks I’m lying. Uh, she was with me today and now she thinks I paid uh paid someone to pretend to recognize me. So, anyway, uh, sorry, that just really popped in my head for a second. Um the Sharks have of course some option or some some issues here that they’re going to have to to decide because uh from practice uh Shakir Muk Mullan sounds like he’s getting ready to to kind of get back in the fray. Of course Nick Ley is you know was put on IR but it sounds like it’s not super long term and was also uh you know is is getting back into practice as well. So, the Sharks have a lot of of like they’re they’re actually gonna have their full complement of defensemen here. Uh because yeah, Muk Mullan says ready for tomorrow, says Borski. Lety looks like he got through practice without an issue, but he’s on IR and not eligible to come back until after the weekend. Um and then Ekkan, who did miss practice today, but it was for maintenance because he played 24 minutes yesterday, will be available for tomorrow. So, we can that’s thank Shen. Uh that’s from uh him. So the sharks have a lot of defenseman here. And again, Letty doesn’t come back until next week, but you’re you’re quickly like you you got too many mouths to feed and not enough player like spaces for everybody. So right, so because you have Orlav who’s not going anywhere and Orlav is very, you know, kind of established himself as the shark’s best defenseman. You have Leti, you have Clingberg, you have Ferraro, you have Ligern, you have Deon, you have Madun, you have Dickinson and you have Iorio. You have nine defensemen right now and none of these guys are other than Dickinson and you can only send him to the OL. None of these guys are waivers exempt and again you still have to get rid of at least one contract. So what do you do here? And you wonder if my theory would be that you could potentially put Vincentio on waiverss. If he gets claimed, he gets claimed. Um and then if not, once he clears waiverss, you trade him back to the Washington Capitals for nothing basically, right? Well, can a late round pick future considerations? It doesn’t matter, right? because it’s more important for your San Jose Sharks to clear a contract than it is to get anything in return when it comes to this freaking Dodgers. Um, so that’s I think option number one is you you try to send Iorio back to the Washington Capitals where he came from. Um, or you feel like you know what, Iorio is a player that maybe has a little bit of a future with us. um you know kind of in that Jack Thompson you know kind of role as well something like that. You could also, if you really wanted to, you know, send one of your uh like AHL forwards away, um you know, if it’s like a guy like Jane Bowers, Leurge, one of those type of players, um who like yes, it would sink for your AHL team, you could potentially trade them to another team that is looking for some AHL depth, which we’ve talked about a bunch of times this summer. But I think the the clear path here is to to try to move off a defenseman. And which defenseman is it? That’s that’s the million-dollar question, right? My thing is as long as they’re not named Orlav, uh, Dickinson, or Mukuma Dullan, I don’t think it really matters to be honest. Um, like Clingberg has his no trade stuff so and like he’s not going anywhere right now. Uh, of course you know Ferrari and Villigrin. Those are the two players that have been kind of most like they’re going to be the the combination of they’re going to get you the most slash they’re like they’re just going to get you the most in in return if if you do try to trade one of those guys. And both these guys of course are also in the last year of your deal. So, the teams I would be calling if I was my career. Um, couple teams here that to kind of keep in mind that who have really gotten crushed by injuries to to start the season. Um, one, the Carolina Panthers who are are going through it right now injury-wise. Um, this is a a team that is uh without Jacob Slavven, who’s arguably the best defensive defenseman in the world. Um, so he’s out. He’s on IR. I think he played like the first two games and then then that’s basically it. You have Keandre Miller, who they they just acquired this off season and gave a big time contract to. He’s out right now. I’m not sure what the kind of extent is to that. And then you have Shane Gar who just got hurt this weekend. That’s that’s three of your top six there and three of your top paid guys um who are all out right now. Good thing is is like the makes it easy is that the Hurricanes have plenty of cap space. So they can acquire any of these guys here from from San Jose and it wouldn’t be a problem. And you would probably, you know, if it’s a Ferraro, Oligrin, you know, even if it’s Norio with his, you know, low cap hip, Deise, who’s played very, excuse me, played very well for the Sharks, uh, those would be like the Hurricanes are the first team I’m calling because they’ve been kind of really going through um going through it injury-wise. There’s also word that the um the Florida Panthers are also looking for a defenseman because they are also going through it injury-wise as well. Um the problem with the Panthers though is is they’re much tighter to the cap here. Um, so it might be a little bit tougher with maybe the exception of Iorio who’s still on his ELC contract um to maybe potentially get something done here. But those are two teams that I would 100% be calling uh to try to move uh a a contract because uh you Mike Greer, you have to if you’re going to keep Dickinson um and Misa, you have to move a contract and it makes sense to try to kind of flip one of these defenseman because I think you can still kind of get something for a couple of these guys, whether it’s Ferraro or Lilligan. um you know, the two guys that you’re most likely going to get something for them, at least something of of value. But at this point, it’s it’s you want to clear the path for Dickinson to be, you know, not maybe not an every night player. The same thing with Misa. You want to clear a path for both these guys to be in the lineup on most nights and then as the season wears on, you know, and more guys kind of get moved out to be every night type of players. So, um, Micer, I’m sure, is working the phones right now and trying to kind of figure things out here, but I think it’s it isn’t we’ll know more here really soon, especially with on the Dickensson front. You know, that they don’t have to move a contract until um until Michael Mises like locked in. This again, assuming both these guys stay here and especially with the Sharks, you do have some backto backs up here coming up, right? The Sharks have a backto-back this weekend. So, let’s just assume he Dickinson, we’ll assume Misa plays on on Thursday. He plays one of the two games this weekend. So, that’s seven, eight, and then he plays the game against the Kraken. That’s nine. So, that basically kind of gives um gives Greer a week to kind of to make a you know, try to find a trade partner for one of these guys here. So, um but that’s gonna be it for me today. We’ll be back tomorrow. Of course, we’ll have a um a preview of the Sharks Devils game. Uh that’ll be on YouTube, probably up in the early afternoon, about 10 minutes long on YouTube, and then we’ll have a reaction to the Sharks Devils um after the game Thursday night. So, make sure you guys are following along Yuga podcast and of course you can watch on YouTube as well. Follow the show on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and on Tik Tok at Locksharks. The San Jose Sharks face critical contract decisions as top prospects Sam Dickinson and Michael Misa approach the 9-game threshold that triggers their entry-level deals. Should the organization keep both young stars in the NHL or send them back to junior hockey?
Dickinson has played eight games without a point, but his underlying metrics tell a different story. He leads the team in shot attempt differential and ranks near the top in expected goals and high-danger chances created. His performance compares favorably to fellow 2024 draft picks Zeev Buium and Zayne Parekh, despite their higher point totals. Meanwhile, Misa has posted three points in six games with a 57.14% goals-for percentage, second-best on the roster behind only Dmitri Orlov.
Keeping both players creates a roster crunch. The Sharks currently have nine defensemen under contract, including Vincent Iorio, Timothy Liljegren, Mario Ferraro, and Shakir Mukhamadullin. With the 50-contract limit looming, the team must make moves. Potential solutions include placing Iorio on waivers or exploring trades with the Carolina Hurricanes and Florida Panthers, both dealing with significant defensive injuries.

Both of them should stay in San Jose. They are NHL level players and are much too good for junior . They will improve much faster in the NHL than in junior at this stage.
As Warso says, "everyone has to earn their spot". So Goodrow and Klingberg are gonna stay in the lineup 82 games

why would you move Iorio? He's 22, big RHD and while he's not great, he is the exact sort of development project this team needs to work with. Trade an AHLer for maybe a 7th rd pick. Or less …
Unless you can move Mario or one of the bigger, more tradable sorts.
They can hold off moving a D-man until Leddy comes off IR
I don't see the point of them not playing for the Big Club. Keeping them is a step toward real progress in San Jose.
Right now Misa is a top 8 forward and Dickenson is the 4th best dman on the team, and I’m including his bad games.
Why would you send either of these guys down if you want to be better this year?
Yeah there are definitely too many defensemen as usual. But since Grier picked up the Ryan Ellis contract, he doesn’t necessarily need the Carey Price contract anymore and could flip it. As some teams like Calgary settle into the cellar and trade assets, they might be willing to pay to get that contract instead of get paid to take it. The Ellis contract helps the Sharks next season which they needed instead of just this season.
Carolina panthers? Jaccob Slavin? The sharks broke JD's brain lmao.
27:58 "The Carolina Panthers" nice
Keep Lorio. He is better than Thompson. If you need to move someone trade Thompson for a late round pick. He is waiver cleared so he doesn’t have to go through waivers for 10 games plus his salary can be fully buried. Looking at Florida
If/when you need a roster spot move Leddy. He has been horrible. He can be traded or sent down the AHL. I would guess he ask for a contract termination over AHL.
Thompson has little value to the sharks going forward. He is a young bottom pair at best. We just don’t have the spot to train him if we are trying to get Dickinson and hopefully Cag playing time.
Bottom pairs are always available. Thompson isnt a top 4 and he likely isn’t going to be one.
Yet another interesting podcast. It is an obvious necessity to move a contract, and if that is all they needed to do then your option 2 (say Bowers or Wahlstrom) would most likely be moved.
Option 1 is a no go for me. Why?
– Lorio is getting better the more games he has played.
– He is big at 6 foot 3 with some chunk in the trunk at 201.
– He is only 22
– He is the second youngest defenseman on the Sharks roster and in their RD stack
– Other than Thompson, he is the only RD close to being able to play NHL games
Which leads me to option 3, moving Ferraro or Liljegren because of them getting the best return. It does not matter the return the Sharks get, they are not tanking and yes faathering assets is good but not the priority this season.
Why?
– They will have tons of cap space next offseason
– They have 6 picks in the first four rounds of the next draft (four of them in the first two rounds)
– What they do not have is many cromulent defensemen and this takes one of the three best they currently have away
Option 4
– Move a contract with Bowers or Wahlstrom and waive Leddy.
– If Leddy is disgruntled by being waived he is free to walk leave (problem solved).
– If not he would be good for the Cuda (with the right attitude).
– Or they get lucky and a team picks him up off waivers.
Grier in his best Macho Man Randy Savage impression “You ain’t going nowhere!”
Gotta keep Iorio! Do not risk losing him! Put Klingberg or Leddy on freakin waivers.
Also, friggin Dodgers is correct 😒
Man if only we didnt make a waivrr claim when we were badically maxed out on contracts. I like Iorio but Mike's obsession trying to dumpsterdive on the waiver wire is biting us in the ass right now
Send Mario to The Florida Hurricanes…Done Deal!
Yes, keep them both. Both perform as they are comfortable. Showing they are being in the right place at the right time.
All good suggestions in this forum. I want to watch Dickinson and Misa, not Leddy or Klingberg. The young guys will get better. Let them learn from mistakes as long as they work to get better.
Keep them up. Let them keep learning to play with Mack, Smith and Eklund. The future is teal!
Ave fan here, always intrigued by the Sharks development processes.
